Weekend Wrap Up

During this time of year the weekends fly by. We kicked this weekend off with a super exciting tax update webinar on Friday. Woo hoo. On Saturday, we held down furniture while Mommy and Daddy went to the coast to see the huge waves created by a storm off shore...

Yesterday Mommy cleaned a drawer that is filled with a little of this and a lot of that. I helped...

I'm pretty sure two weekends of cleaning is a record for somemommy. Maybe from now on we can relax and enjoy our entire weekend. I hope so.

Throwback Thursday

We've been slacking this week but supposedly we have good excuses including medical stuff (all is fine), work stuff (is it April 15th yet?) and Mommy still is battling her eye issue (sigh). She found out yesterday that although it no longer hurts her, her eye hasn't healed at all. She'll start on steroid eye drops today but the eye doctor said it could take 1 to 12 weeks to heal. So, since her vision is blurry and we've been busy, we're throwing back to January 2012. We hope you enjoy walk down memory lane...

We know we appear to be purrfect models but it's hard work making it look so easy. Behind the scenes it can get a little, well, less than purrfect. We thought we'd show you some of our Flubs from some recent posts. Anycat knows that slinky, shiny things are irresistible and I certainly can't resist them...
My sisfurs are hard to control sometimes with Angel getting in the way and Sadie looking bored as can be...
And she's bored a lot...
Alright, truth be told, I get bored too...
Modeling is a tough job. Just thinking about it makes me need a nap!

Weekend Wrap Up

First of all, thanks for the well wishes for Mommy. Her eye is better than it was but still not completely healed. She learned her lesson and will make sure she uses eye drops to avoid this from happening again! Anyway, as far as our weekend went, the best day was last Friday when I enjoyed watching a video of adorable BB play with his new Turbo Chaser...

Beautiful Miss Frankie played with it too...

I watched them closely and even tried to paw at an imaginary ball. It was a lot of fun! What wasn't so much fun was helping Mommy clean out her nightstand which apparently from the dates of things inside hadn't been done since 2009...

It was pretty fun in there once all the stuff was gone so hopefully she keeps it clean!

Almost Friday!

Our week has been much better than last except that Mommy went to the eye doctor yesterday to find out why her right eye is blurry and hurts as the day goes on. Turns out she has keratitis because of dry eyes and the doctor said her cornea looks like stained glass. Yeah, nice. Anyway, she has drops and ointment and was told to rest her eyes. Since she still insists on working, I'm making sure she takes plenty of breaks from staring at screens filled with tax documents by offering myself for scritching...

I know, I'm too good to her. What would she ever do without me? It's a tough job being a CPA Cat but somekitty's got to do it!

Weekend Wrap Up

Our weekend ended better than it started. It's cold but sunny outside and Daddy's on the tail end of his cold too...

Get it? Tail end? MOL! I crack myself up! Anyway, even though Daddy is still sniffling, he and Mommy went to the coast yesterday because it was 10 degrees warmer, sunny, and well, looked like this...

Once again they didn't bring us back any birdies...

Not even one feather! Oh well, Mommy came back happy and after last week, that makes us all happy!

Finally Friday the 13th

Okay, we're not superstitious about 'Friday the 13th' but we do know this has been one long week. Something has happened every day that's made Mommy cranky, discombobulated or frustrated. One thing has discombobulated me - Daddy has a cold. He spent all day yesterday in bed - in MY spot on the bed no less. I am Daddy's Girl but still, he was in my spot!

Of course he was working so his computer and phone would ding, ping or ring and he was sniffling, sneezing and coughing. How's a Tortie supposed to sleep through all that? Today he's still sick, still here but he's working upright downstairs so I have the bed all to myself. Just as it should be. Finally.

A Box of Goodies #PetGiftBox

Shortly before the holidays we were asked if we'd like to review a new subscription box company called TheGiftBox.com. Actor John Ratzenberger recently launched this company that offers subscription boxes for a variety of interests including golf, sweets, chefs, wine, escape and of course pets! We thought it sounded like fun so we received a Pet Gift Box to check out. It came packaged very nice in a fun, red box...

There was a card included that detailed everything in that month's box..

When the paper was pulled back we could see the box was full of goodies...

Of course we got the kitty box so it was filled with three toys, treats, a blanket and a paw magnet. The magnet isn't for us kitties but everything else is...

After we inspected everything, it was time for some play...

And of course some rest....

Since we've had the box for a few weeks now we can say we liked the yellow toy I was playing with above and the wand toy but not the scratcher thing toy, I've napped on the blanket and Angel liked the treats. I didn't get any treats since I don't have teeth and somemommy is a worry wart. Whatever. We all think the magnet is neat too. All in all, it was fun to receive the Pet Gift Box and we were impressed by what was included!

Wintry Weekend Wrap Up

We woke up to more snow Saturday. Lot of snow...

Once again the birdies put on quite a show...

They were up in the trees and down on the ground...

Yesterday it rained on the snow so now it's a mess. Mother Nature is sure making everyone here discombobulated!

Snowbirds!

We're known for rainy winters here in Oregon but this week we got snow! None of us actually like snow but apparently the birdies sure do...

We had birdies from doves to chickadees to bluejays in our front yard! They were so fun to watch...

Yes, even though it was literally freezing outside, Mommy opened the window so we could hear the birdies too...

Although we don't like snow itself, we do enjoy all the snowbirds!

Wordless Wednesday - Nightly Ritual

Tortie Tuesday

It's the first Tortie Tuesday of 2017 and I need to catch up on my beauty sleep after helping Daddy set up Mommy's new work computer yesterday afternoon...

It was supposed to be a simple plug in and go kind of set up but in reality it took five hours and a lot of complaining on Mommy's behalf - she really does not like change. Well, I don't like the disruption during my nap time!

I don't know how I'm going to recoup that five hours of sleep in addition to my normal 22 hours when there's only 24 hours in  the day! This is not a good way to start the new year!

Weekend Update

We hope your New Year is off to a good start! Of course we didn't make it up until midnight but the fireworks in the neighborhood let us know when it officially became 2017. Other than that, our weekend started off Friday night with me helping Daddy hook something up to his new TV...

On Saturday, Mommy and Daddy went to the coast for a fish dinner (no, we didn't get any) and a drive along the ocean with views like this...

Yesterday Daddy improved the reception on Birdie TV...

We held down the furniture the rest of the day while Mommy worked on Christmas New Years presents for her friends. They again involve glue and other things we can't help with. It's no wonder they're so late. We're looking forward to both Mommy and Daddy being home today and a short first week of 2017. We'll take all the short weeks we can get since tax season is looming. *sigh*
