Hello there!

Well, how'd we let so much time pass since we last blogged? Clearly it's not OUR fault since we're not the ones with thumbs but anyway, we're popping in today to say hey! We're all doing well. We're really getting used to being retired...

We do work every so often though. Mommy does bookkeeping for a couple of companies so recently we helped with payroll tax returns...

That was, well, taxing but thankfully it happens rarely. Another thing that happens rarely is Lexi is a tad bit calmer. As we type this, she's crazypants because of a squirrel outside but she does go for longer periods of time actually being still. When she's not still, she's playing with her toys all.day.long. She's definitely a Retriever...

Speaking of squirrels, one of my favorite past-times is watching Squirrel TV...

Anyway, we're sorry we've been away so long. We really didn't realize it but we'll make a point to be around more often. For now, I'm going to check out the squirrel Lexi is so worked up about...

Thankful Thursday

We're still adjusting our routine after tax season. It takes a lot of practice to get our new normal just right...

We do have something to be thankful for. Isabella was re-tested for her hyperthyroidism after being on meds for 50 days and her results were fabulous! She went from 3.4 (4 is the upper limit) to 1.2! I won't be tested for several months since I'm no longer on meds for my hyperthyroidism because I'm allergic to them. I am finally no longer itchy all the time and for that I'm thankful. We're both thankful there is no room in this chair for Lexi...

The biggest thing we're thankful for is that we just endured our last tax season! Yep, we're officially retired as CPA Cats! After 20 tax seasons, Mommy's body just can't handle sitting for so many hours for so many days. She's also worked really hard to become healthy and lose quite a bit of weight the past 1.5 years so sitting for 25% of the year is counterproductive to that. It was just time for her to retire. Plus she's been saying to the Universe for the past five years that she wanted to retire at 50 so that's what she did! We're all happy and looking forward to not being stuck in the office next year and for whatever the future may bring!

Finally Friday

We've had a long short week at work. Last weekend, Mommy was in Texas until Monday night so after a fun few days with Daddy, she made us go back to work Tuesday. Lexi doesn't think taxes are quite as fun...

For that matter, we don't either...

It's going to be a really long tax season for all of us.

It's Our 11th Gotcha Day!

On November 3, 2006, we were Gotcha'd by our Mommy and Daddy!  We weren't planned (we stole their hearts by surprise) so we came home in cardboard carriers as demonstrated by this re-creation a few weeks after the actual event...

We each had our own carrier but from the very beginning we always wanted to be together...

We' still like being together today...

We are glad to have been Gotcha'd by our Mommy and Daddy and we know they're super happy to have Gotcha'd us!

Weekend Wrap Up

While Mommy is away in Texas, we're having a great time with our Daddy. This weekend I snuggled with him...

Yeah, okay, so I practically laid on her but what can I say, she enjoyed it too. We have just a couple of days of Daddy time before Mommy returns. We'll be sure to make the most of it!

Snuggle Buddies

The best thing about having a sisfur is being her snuggle buddy...

Especially on cold, dreary, rainy days when somemommy is gone. Again. Yep, she's on yet another trip so we'll be sharing prime lap space on Daddy this weekend. Mommy is in Las Vegas visiting our Grandma from Vegas, the Katnip Lounge mommy, angel GJ's mum and dad from the U.K. and a cat mom/carrot lady from Texas. She'll be home Monday so we'll enjoy our time with Daddy until then!

Mid Year Crisis...

Okay, so maybe it's not a crisis but we just realized that 2016 is now half over! How'd that happen so fast? We planned to make changes or at least shake things up around here. Let's just say there's not a lot of shaking going on...

We know, we're cute. Being adorable is hard work but we make it look easy.

Anyway, we still hope to change our blog up but somemommy hasn't had time to help us think of what to do. Is there something you'd like to see or do you have any questions you'd like us to answer? Any ideas/help/treats would be greatly appreciated!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope your first weekend of fall was a good one! We had perfect weather for snuggling in front of the open window...

Of course then Mommy finally found her beady mojo that'd been missing for months so I had to snoopervise...

Her mojo was so slow in returning that it took her several attempts to get that far and the earrings aren't even done yet because she and Daddy left us to starve for 8 hours on Sunday while they went up into the mountains near Mount Hood...

Why they want to spend time in places like that when they have us at home, we have no idea but they do. They're weird. *sigh*

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday!  Yesterday my little sisfur gave her version of her weekend wrap up and today I'm gonna give you mine.  She thinks she's the only one around here who works but that's so not true.  I had to snoopervise the landscapers to make sure they didn't cut the power on Birdie TV...

I also had to make sure the pizza was thin crust...

On Saturday I had to go to the evil v-e-t because I keep coughing and it sounds like I'm coughing up a hairball but I've never had a hairball. Ever. Sparkle's human had told Mommy that it could be asthma but when I last went to the v-e-t, she didn't think so.  Finally she does so I'm now on prednisone.  I'm still coughing but not near as much so hopefully it'll help.  Nothing helped keep my little sisfur from following me around when I got home, sniffing me and hissing...

By Sunday evening though she was cold so she came up and plopped her floofy white body against me...  

It's a tough job being a snuggle bunny but someTortie's gotta do it!

Where'd the Weekend Go?

Another weekend flew by and now it's Monday already.  Just when we get everybuddy in a routine, Mondays come and mess it up by making Mommy and Daddy go back to work.  We'll have to start all over next weekend so we'll just rest up this week...

Did you do anything exciting over the weekend?  Did you watch the Puppy Bowl or the Superbowl?  What'd you think of the Budweiser Clydesdale's commercial?  Those horses make our mommy's eyes leak every single time! 

Anyway, hope you have a good Monday and are able to start resting up for the weekend!

Snuggle Buddies

Although it's been sunny this week we still know it's Fall which means it's snuggle time around here!  Mommy has captured some of our snuggles with her phone so we thought we'd show you a few aww moments...

Easy Sunday

We've had a busy week so we're taking it easy today by just snuggling...

PeeS: Thank you for your prayers for our friend Abby and her dad Gerard as they recover from a terrible attack by two dogs. Abby was able to go home yesterday but she still has a ways to go in her recovery so keep the prayers coming!
