Until We Meet Again

January 10, 2006 - January 23, 2024

We're sad to announce that Isabella went to the Rainbow Bridge last Tuesday. She made it to 18 and had been doing well until we woke up on Monday to her being ill. The vet treated her with fluids for low blood pressure and low glucose and she was well enough to return home that evening. The next morning she was showing some of the same signs and when the vet called saying her white blood count was high and she wanted to do more tests, we chose to not put her through all that. Such a hard decision but we know it was the right one. She is once again with her sisfurs Sadie and Angel. We know they're cuddling in a sunpuddle waiting until we meet again. For now, our hearts are broken.

It's Our 15th Gotcha Day!

Hello, everybuddy! It's been one year since we posted last which is WAY too long if you ask us. Anyway, we're here because we're celebrating our 15th Gotcha Day today! We can't believe it's been that long since we came to our furever home...

In many ways we're still the same...

But, uh, different...

We're just more grown up...

Oh, and our little sisfur, Lexi, is sorta grown up at 3.5 years old...

We're sorry we've been away for so long. If only we had thumbs!

It's Our 14th Gotcha Day!

Today is a big day because we're celebrating 14 years as a family! We were pretty small when we were Gotcha'd back in 2006...

But although we're bigger, we're still just as cuddly!

And we even sorta kinda sometimes like our little sisfur Lexi so we let her hang out with us too...

We appreciate you stopping by on our Gotcha Day! We know we've been scarse around here but we're all doing well and hope you are too!

Well, It's Been a Hot Minute!

We had no idea what would happen in this world after our last post upteen months ago in January!

Yeah, okay, it only seems like it's been forever but we only have somemommy to blame. It's not like she had anywhere to go during her first tax season in retirement! MOL! The only difference between this year and last is that we're snoopervising Daddy in the home office instead of Mommy. The snoopervising is still as hard...

We only make holding down furniture and floors look easy...

Don't worry, we get in plenty of fresh air breaks...

Oh and somepuppy turned 2 on May 17th but she still thinks she's 4 months old...

Anyway, we're all doing well and hope you are too! We've missed you!

Hello there!

Well, how'd we let so much time pass since we last blogged? Clearly it's not OUR fault since we're not the ones with thumbs but anyway, we're popping in today to say hey! We're all doing well. We're really getting used to being retired...

We do work every so often though. Mommy does bookkeeping for a couple of companies so recently we helped with payroll tax returns...

That was, well, taxing but thankfully it happens rarely. Another thing that happens rarely is Lexi is a tad bit calmer. As we type this, she's crazypants because of a squirrel outside but she does go for longer periods of time actually being still. When she's not still, she's playing with her toys all.day.long. She's definitely a Retriever...

Speaking of squirrels, one of my favorite past-times is watching Squirrel TV...

Anyway, we're sorry we've been away so long. We really didn't realize it but we'll make a point to be around more often. For now, I'm going to check out the squirrel Lexi is so worked up about...

Wordless Wednesday - We're Still Here!

Thankful Thursday

Something came in the mail and I knew right away it was for me...

It's my very own bag to carry my roll of, uh, poop bags on my walks! It's pink like my collar and my leash. It's camo and it has purple on it for my Army of Four friends from K-State country, Cammie and Maggie!

It hooks on my leash with this cool purple dog bone too...

As I'm learning around here, even though this is for me it has to meet kitty inspection. Angel gave it her approval...

Isabella thinks it's really pink Tortie fabric. She thinks all things are about her. Don't tell her I said that...

She did give me the idea that treats would fit in it too...

Actually, she expected treats for doing such a thorough inspection...

Anyway, my new bag is a treat and I'll be the most stylish dog in the hood! Thank you, Cammie and Maggie for helping your mom make such an awesome poop bag bag! I love it! Mommy loves it too and Daddy is glad it's not too girlie for him to walk with me and all my pink accessories!

We've been practicing our lazy summer days for awhile now...

Notice we aren't cooperating by looking at the camera? We don't have to because we now have a ham of a sister who does what she's told...

An Update - Finally!

Sorry for the delay in letting everyone know how Lexi's spay surgery went on Monday. The surgery itself went well but she's been having issues pertaining to the medications since Tuesday. She was sent home with gabapentin for pain and a combo pain/anti-inflammatory pill vetprofin. Well, beginning on Tuesday she's really antsy, pants heavily and would cry - all of which are not like her at all. I kept her company while she was going through all that...

Yesterday Daddy called the vet and was told it was probably the gabapentin causing her reaction so she didn't get that medication last night. Instead they prescribed her trazodone which was supposed to calm her so she could sleep. Well, it didn't work. None of us slept past 1:30 this morning when she was moaning and really uncomfortable which for a dog means she was making soft growling and even crying sounds. Daddy brought her downstairs to her thick, comfy bed to get her to rest and she did do better down there...

We both stayed awake with Mommy until she got up at 4:20 to get ready for boot camp. I help her get ready every day so it was normal routine for me...

But Isabella was up and that is completely not normal....

So far today Lexi's been everything from restless to panting heavily to crazypants when our Chewy order came to even sleeping. She only got the vetprofen this morning and not the other two medications since they clearly are not good for her. We plan on napping today since our days and nights are turned around. Hopefully Lexi has turned the corner and will get better soon.

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a nice weekend. Here in the USA it was Memorial Day weekend which is when we remember those who have fought and died for our country. We're thankful for all who serve and protect our country...

We've been quiet around here because we've just been enjoying some time off. We're also enjoying spring...

And cuddles in sunpuddles...

And Mommy enjoyed her happy place with a friend...

We're kinda short on mojo around here but hopefully we'll find it soon. If you have any ideas on how to find it, let us know! We'll keep looking for it though.

Now that somemommy has time on her hands, she's been getting things done that she's put off for years like cleaning out closets. Being the worker kitties we are, we are helping...

I know I make it look easy but holding down boxes is a tough job...

Her nose never stops. It's always in our business. She turns one tomorrow but we've given up hope that she'll magically be less puppyish. *sigh* Anyway, somemommy appreciated our help and now has a clean and organized closet!
