It's Our 15th Gotcha Day!

Hello, everybuddy! It's been one year since we posted last which is WAY too long if you ask us. Anyway, we're here because we're celebrating our 15th Gotcha Day today! We can't believe it's been that long since we came to our furever home...

In many ways we're still the same...

But, uh, different...

We're just more grown up...

Oh, and our little sisfur, Lexi, is sorta grown up at 3.5 years old...

We're sorry we've been away for so long. If only we had thumbs!

We hope you enjoy some extra treats today in honor of our day!

Let the Party Begin!

It's finally Friday!
Time to let it all hang out!
We're off work until next Wednesday so I'm looking forward to a really long weekend of doing nothing. You know, the kind of days Isabella has every day.

What are your weekend plans?

Happy weekend!

Birthday Celebration!

We don't normally post on a Sunday but we made an exception since it's our Mommy's squizillion and eighth birthday today!
She's expecting to have a great day based on her fortune from yesterday...
We're expecting frosting or chick-hen. So far there isn't any...
But the day isn't over yet! Bring on those blessings!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Celebrating my Birthday on Sadieday!

Tomorrow, January 11th, is my 9th birthday but we're going to start the celebration today on Sadieday!  It's only right that a Tortie gets to celebrate her birthday for the entire weekend especially with crinkly paper!
I found my furever family when I was 10 months old so although there aren't any baby pictures of me, you can tell that I would've been an adorable baby Tortie...
Since I'm the birthday girl I get to make wishes so I wish for furever homes for all kitties and woofies, for plenty of food and warm shelter for all and for everyone to give a chance to others despite our differences...
I also wish for everyone to do something to bring a smile to your face today and hopefully to others too!  It doesn't take much effort to smile but that smile can brighten the day!

Have a treat in my honor today!  Enjoy your weekend too!

2,000 Posts and a Commenthon on Tortie Tuesday!

It's Tortie Tuesday and it's also our 2,000th post!  That's certainly cause for celebration!  We've come a long way from when Mommy started this blog back on January 5, 2008 to talk about her BeadTail shop.  Yeah, that snoozefest got zero to two comments so she didn't do much with the blog until April when she she posted this story and photo about my little sisfur Angel and got a whooping 5 comments...
She continued to post about her shop and even some travel related posts about our area but she eventually figured out we were much better at doing posts than she is so we took over along with our angel sisfur Sadie.  Sadie even helped by modeling her jewelry like this purple necklace...
Of course I'm the supermodel of the family so I modeled lots of things like this pouch...
And this ornament...
But, even supermodels get bored...
We are happy yet amazed that we still have things to say although some days are harder than others.  We are very thankful to have such wonderful friends that visit from all over the world too!  To show our appreciation we're going to have a commenthon with $1 for every comment through midnight PDT tonight being donated to Senior Dog Rescue in our sisfur Sadie's honor.

Thanks to everybody who visits and keeps us going!  We are more grateful than we can say!  We hope we give you a smile and we hope you spread those smiles around!

Happy Tortie Tuesday!

Celebrating a Birthday on Sadieday!

Yay it's Sadieday and it's also my 8th birthday!  Time to celebrate and bring on the frosting!  Hey, this isn't real frosting...
Since I came here to my furever family when I was 10 months old, there aren't any photos of me as a baby kitten but I was still a cutie as a toddler...
Okay, I also wish for frosting.  Just sayin.

Have a treat in my honor today!  Enjoy your weekend too!

Anniversary Celebration!

Today is our Mommy and Daddy's 25th Anniversary!  That's a really long time so it was pretty smart they got married on 8-8-88 so they won't forget as all the years go by...
They are celebrating over the next four days by going to the coast or mountains or hiking or whatever they want to do and then they'll go to Hawaii to celebrate even more this fall.  We might just have a celebration here ourselves with niptinis, chik-hen and ribbons!
Since we can't post by ourselves, we're going to be taking a long weekend again.  We hope everybody finds something to celebrate this weekend even if it's just a brand new morning!

Happy 25th Anniversary to our Mommy and Daddy!

Celebrating on Sadieday!

It's Sadieday and it's also my 7th birthday!  I was born August 3rd, 2006, on a farm but didn't get my real furever family until three months later.  By then I was already helping Mommy at work and I was such a cute little thing...
I was tiny compared to my sisfur Sadie...
Of course I grew up to be a lovely ladycat...
I told Mommy not to get me any presents since I have so much already so we're going to donate a pound of food to the shelter for every comment on this post through midnight Sunday.  I'd also like to ask all our humans to do a random act of kindness this weekend to brighten someone else's day such as wave at a neighbor they usually ignore or call someone just to say hello.  As always, be sure to spread smiles around this Sadieday and every day!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy some extra treats for my birthday!

Today we'll celebrate by filling our tummies with barbecue and our hearts with Torties patriotic pride...
We'll also be thinking of all the brave men and women fighting for our freedom around the world today and every day too!

We're going to enjoy a long holiday weekend so we hope our friends everywhere have a wonderful day and a great weekend too!

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July!

Help Us Celebrate 1700 Posts!

Once again Mommy is saying she's just too busy to help us blog so since we can't do it ourselves, we're going to have to take another break.  But, we're not going to take it lying down!

Well, okay, maybe I will.  Anyway, this is our 1700th post so to celebrate, we're going to donate $1 for each comment and we'd like your help in deciding where the donation goes!  Leave a comment before Sunday evening and also give us the name of a charity and we'll donate to the one chosen in a drawing.

Since we'll be "off" until Monday, we want to wish everyone a Happy Easter too!

Be sure to leave us comment and the name of a charity.  We'll draw Sunday evening.  Thank you for helping us celebrate our 1700th post!

Enjoy your Easter weekend!

Happy Birthday Isabella!

It's my 7th birthday all day today!  Isn't that exciting?
I should be showered with treats and toys but instead I just get this...this...this thing-a-ma-jig...
Is this not the lamest thing you've ever seen Angel?
It doesn't even taste good!
Oh well, it's still my birthday so that the most important part!
Since Mommy saved so much money on my presents, we're going to donate $1 to Alley Cat Allies for each comment left on this post through midnight tonight.  Since my bestest present is a nice warm home, plenty of foods and lots of love, we want to help Alley Cat Allies protect feral kitties and to know we care for them too!

Hope you enjoy a treat today in honor of my birthday!

Ay yi yi

I might have celebrated Cinco de Mayo a tad too much yesterday...
I had treats, chewed on a bone and licked the peanut butter jar clean. On second thought, I think I celebrated just right!
Now it's time for my siesta.

Do you enjoy the fiesta or the siesta more?

Adios Amigos!

One Week Until Turkey Time!

The current EtsyBloggers blog carnival topic chosen by MysticWynd is

"Most countries around the world have a day set aside to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. Here in the US, it's Thanksgiving. What do you celebrate wherever you live and how do you celebrate?"

Well, as stated in the topic, here in the U.S. we celebrate Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November which this year is one week from today. Using our photos from last year's Thanksgiving, we'll show you how we celebrate the day. Since we live far away from family, it's just me, my sisfurs and Mommy and Daddy and of course a turkey!
Mommy and Daddy fix a mini version of a traditional meal with all the fixin's. They begin getting it ready in the morning so we smell the aroma of the turkey as it's cooking.
Around noon it's turkey time! Of course we begin by remembering what we're thankful for like each other, our health and happiness but then we get to eat the turkey!
The rest of the afternoon we relax and enjoy the day together. That is how we celebrate Thanksgiving in our family.

Do you have any special celebrations in your family?

World Cat Day 2009!

Let us all celebrate ~ World Cat Day.
Celebrate kitties in your own special way.
Those here and near, and those now above,
all the kitties so dear, all the kitties we love.
August 8th has special meaning to me for two reasons. For one, it's my 21st wedding anniversary. (Happy Anniversary J!) In addition, it would have been the 21st birthday of our cats Reebok and Panther. Since it's World Cat Day, today's post is in memory of Reebok
and Panther.
Reebok and Panther were orphaned when they were just a few weeks old after their momma was hit by a car in the alley near our house in Topeka, KS. One morning when I went outside I heard their tiny mews so went towards the sound. Two itty bitty kittens came running out from under a bush. Of course I took them inside, gave them our cat Tiger's canned food but they just pushed it around on the plate with their noses - they didn't know how to eat and I didn't know what to do! I called my mom and she brought over KMR Kitten Formula and bottles and we proceeded to bottle feed them. Reebok got her name because she was so tiny she slept inside a pair of sneakers. Panther was named because she was a black poof ball of a kitten.

In 1998, Reebok was diagnosed with kidney failure so we had to give her IV fluids every day. She remained happy and strong until we lost her to cancer in 2001. The picture of her in the bag was taken on her last day. She loved bags and we let her enjoy one for the last time.
Panther was a cat that only liked me so she hid most of the time unless she was sitting on my lap. After moving to Oregon in 2003, she seemed to thrive and was out a lot more and occasionally let others pet her if I was around. She was truly a cat who could say "I'm not fat, I'm fluffy" because she only weighed 5 lbs. She was very happy and seemed so healthy but on the day after my birthday in 2006, Panther died unexpectedly of fluid in her lungs. In addition to Reebok and Panther, I'm celebrating all my cats who have crossed the Bridge including Sugar, Pepper, Mikie, Tiger, and my mom's cat Jessi. And of course I celebrate my cats who are with us now, Angel and Isabella! All my cats have brought great joy to my life and I love them all!

Happy Birthday Reebok and Panther!

Be sure to celebrate your cat today and give them a big ol' hug!
Angel says treats would be nice too!

Happy 4th of July!

Earlier this week our Canadian friends celebrated Canada Day and today we are celebrating Independence Day here in America! We love celebrations but we HATE the fireworks part of this day.
Mommy got us this lame flag type thingy but it did flip in the air really good when we started tossing it around!
We hope you have a safe and Happy 4th of July and a Happy Caturday! *What was that? Oh, okay,* Happy Sadieday too!
