Weekend Wrap Up

We sure needed last weekend around here. Of course it was a long holiday weekend but that didn't matter since Mommy was sick and Isabella was really, really sick. We all felt bad for Bella because of her stuffed up nose, runny eyes and lethargy. She made Cod awful noises while breathing and her sneezes could be heard from anywhere in the house. Mommy thought she needed fresh air so even though it was barely 40 degrees outside, we both got fresh air - from our own windows of course...
Because of Mommy needing to rest up for her show today, I put a stop to any more beady goodie making...
Whatever inventory we had is what she's taking today including all these earrings...
And there's even some journals in this box...
The break must have helped because both Mommy and Isabella were feeling better yesterday. Isabella played with a piece of soft fleece and even tried to bite it so her mouth must be better too! She is still stuffed up and sneezing but not near as bad as she was. She even felt well enough to notice the introoder Dooney in our yard...
Daddy and I are glad both of them are finally on the mend. Mommy is a lousy patient anyway let alone when she is up most the night listening to Isabella. Sick plus tired equals cranky! The mood did lighten considerably when Isabella played and was more alert yesterday. I'm still staying away from her and I promise to leave her alone today while Mommy is at her show too. We do want to pass along thanks for all the purrs!

How was your weekend?

Hope you're doing well today!
Angel

PeeS: Mommy here: We don't know what caused the cuts on Isabella's nose and probably never will. The dental specialist is at a different vet's office than our regular one and she pretty much said any follow up will be done with our regular vet who I talked to on Friday. I told her about Isabella's nose and she was pretty shocked and didn't know what would've caused it unless whatever was used to give Isabella the inhaler twice during the procedure had a sharp edge that cut her. She was concerned about Isabella's URI but knew the Clavamox would start working which it finally did. Isabella has been eating her wet food since the night of her dental but we hadn't seen her drink water until yesterday. The vet had said that drinking or eating closes off the only way she could breathe so we could expect to see her back off of those. Isabella certainly didn't back off from food though which was a good sign so seeing her drink was a great sign! Her daddy and I feel so bad for putting her through all this but it's a relief knowing her teeth won't hurt her any more and she'll never have to go through another dental again! Now if we can just keep Angel from catching the URI all will be great once again!

Finally Friday

We hope all our US friends enjoyed their Thanksgiving! I slept through it. All of it. Well, I did get up to eat but other than that, I slept. I'm up today just long enough to see what's on the Birdie Network. As you can see, I also got rid of that awful cone. I'm a good girl so I don't need it...
Anyway, I'm going to sleep through the rest of the day and probably the weekend too. I'll feel better soon though. Mommy says I have to, there's no other option.

I do want to thank everyone for all the purrs and prayers for me during all this. I can't begin to express how much it all means to me and my Mommy and Daddy!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Isabella

PeeS: Mommy here: Isabella is eating very well despite losing all her teeth but she started sneezing Tuesday, the day before her dental surgery. We told the vet this on Wednesday but she said her lungs were clear and even sounded better than they had at the initial consultation several weeks ago. By the time Isabella got home on Wednesday her nose was very runny and she was sneezing a lot. Yesterday her eyes were watery and the sneezing was pretty constant. We started the antibiotics Wednesday evening so she's now had four doses and it seems to be working a little. If she's not better by tomorrow we'll take her in but we're trying to avoid another car ride. Also, we noticed they cut her nose in two places which is very upsetting and we have no idea what would have caused this. This has been such an ordeal for all of us but hopefully she starts improving and that Angel doesn't catch whatever she has either. Angel won't even be in the same room as Isabella so at least that's one good thing right now.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We're recycling our post from 2009 but the sentiments are the same. We do want to add that we're very thankful we're together today after our day yesterday which you can read about here in case you didn't see our update. Enjoy this rerun and especially enjoy your day!
*****************************
We want to wish Happy Thanksgiving to our furiends here in the U.S. and say how thankful we are for our furiends throughout the world!

We have many things to be thankful for this year including...

A loving furever home
Plenty of food and treats
Lots of toys to play with
Sunshine on our furs
Sisfurs (and beans) to snuggle with
Windows to watch the birdies through

I could go on and on Mommy but it's time to bring on the Turkey!
That's not exactly what I had in mind.

Hope your home is filled with happiness, your heart is filled with love, and your belly is full of yummy foods!

Happy Thanksgiving from our home to yours!
Angel, Isabella and our Mommy

UPDATE: I'm Home!

What the halibut is that thing?
Ignore my little sisfur. She's a drama kitty. Yeah, she hissed at me but she can't bop me with this stupid thing around my neck so she can hiss away. Anyway, the vet stole ALL my teefs! Granted I didn't have many left but she took all I had! Seems that I had stomatitis which Mommy suspected long ago but our regular vet would never diagnose it. The dental specialist took x-rays today and she could tell by my roots that I had it so she had to steal all my teefs. She gave me really good pain stuff that lasts for three days so I feel okay right now. I hate the stupid cone and it comes between me and my foods so Mommy fed me with a spoon...
Eventually she figured out she could turn a bowl upside down and put the food on the now right side up bottom and I can reach it. The vet said for me not to eat much but I missed 16 two meals so here's what I think of that!
Thanks to everyone for the purrs and prayers! The next week or two will be a challenge for all of us but I'm looking forward to feeling better soon!

Hope your day was better than mine!
Isabella

PeeS: I was given an inhaler twice by the anesthesiologist during the procedure. They were just as precautions but Mommy and Daddy were glad she was paying close enough attention to be proactive. Everyone treated me very nice and answered all the questions my peeps had this morning and then when they picked me up. The final cost was $2,099.23 and I'm worth every penny!

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Another day, another refreshing drink, same floofy tail!
Thanks for the purrs for my sisfur Isabella for her dental surgery today!
Angel

Disclaimer: My tail is au natural floofy - no artificial embellishments, extensions or enhancements were used to create the floofyness.

UPDATE: Isabella is out of surgery and lost all of her teeth. Not even the front ones could be saved. We'll post another update once she's home this evening.

Tortie Tuesday

Since Thanksgiving is two days away and Mommy thinks she's too sick to help me blog, I thought this post from the archives was very appropriate this week. Hope it makes you giggle!
*******************************************************
What?A girl's gotta do what she can to keep her figure! What're you laughing at Daddy?Hope you have a good Tortie Tuesday!
Isabella

PeeS: Tomorrow is my dental surgery. Because I got, uh, diarrhea from the antibiotics, the vet said to take me off of them as of last Friday. She didn't seem concerned that I won't be on antibiotics before my surgery but now Mommy and Daddy are even more nervous - which I didn't think was possible! Anyway, since Mommy is pretty sick herself, we'll update on how I'm doing Wednesday night. We certainly know we'll be thankful this will all be over! One good thing, I haven't had any asthma attacks since Wednesday night.

Weekend Wrap Up

It was sunny yet cold this weekend so Mommy and Daddy went out for a drive to no where in particular on Saturday. Why do humans do things like that anyway? They came across a covered bridge built in 1926 but we think staying home with us would've been way more exciting than an old bridge...
Yesterday Mommy woke up feeling icky from a cold. That effected our progress on beady goodies for her show one week from today. I might be a strict taskmaster but if she isn't feeling well, not much is going to happen...
We did get to the point where we just need to add chain (my favorite part) so hopefully she'll have two more necklaces to take next Monday...
Until she gets better all we can do is hold down our perch and the hot air blowing thingy...
Yep, we're always working even when we could be relaxing. It's a tough job but somekitties got to do it!

How was your weekend?

Have a great Monday!

Thank Cod for the Weekend...

Because Mommy is a worry wart wanted to keep an eye on me yesterday*, she made me stay in the living room while she had a webinar. I thought, how bad could it be to lay on the comfy couch for two hours and nap. What I didn't know is that I'd have to listen to a man go on and on about tax stuff...
Hey, whatcha you two doing? Oh my Cod, another webinar? Bella, I warned you about those! Uh, I have important business to take care of anywhere but here! See ya!
Yes, she did warn me and no, I didn't listen. I sure wish I had because this is excruciating...
I am a very patient Tortie but I'm reaching my tolerance limit...
Does he ever stop Mommy?
That was the longest two hours! I know more about taxes than any Tortie should. Ever!

Hope today is the beginning of a great weekend!
Isabella

*Mommy here: I kept an eye on Isabella yesterday because Wednesday night she had several asthma attacks despite receiving twice the inhaler treatment plus the cortisone shot earlier that evening. The first attack around 9pm was a high pitched squeaky wheezy sound that we've never heard before. I actually thought she was choking on a Greenies treat I had given them not long before that but she was purring and breathing fine in between this sound. Yes, I googled Heimlich maneuver for cats because I really thought she was choking! I stayed up most the night listening for her and checking on her in the dark. Thankfully she's predictable where she sleeps! She had a couple more attacks until about 3am but they were more normal sounding. I made her stay by me yesterday and she had no more attacks so hopefully this was all caused by the stress of the car ride Wednesday. Oh how I wish she didn't have to go through this. It's heart breaking to not understand what is happening and how to help her.

One Trip Down...

I made it through my trip to the vet yesterday. Barely. It was dark and dreary out which seemed fitting...
I was almost there when I got car sick. Mommy gave me Rescue Remedy several times through the day but I just can't help it. When I go for car rides my whole body shakes and I get all worked up even though I hide my eyes a lot of the time...
I made it though. At the vet I got a cortisone shot in my right thigh and was told it might start hurting but so far it hasn't stopped me from napping on that thigh. I was a lot more subdued on the way home though and didn't even want to get out of my PTU but who could blame me with a greeting committee like I had...
I knew what was coming. It was only a matter of time.
HISSSS
Yep. I knew it. Thankfully she got it out of her system with that one hiss and didn't do it again. She's probably saving up for next week. *sigh*

I started antibiotics last night and am getting my inhaler twice a day so that combined with the cortisone shot should prevent any asthma attacks during my surgery next week. I'll be so glad when this is all over!

Thanks for the purrs and prayers! I appreciate them and so does Mommy and Daddy!

Tortie Tuesday

Since it's my day, I'm going to clear up a myth that my little sisfur continues to believe is true. She claims I'm spoiled. I am not spoiled. Not one bit. I am merely a Daddy's Girl...
And I get my Tortie thighs massaged by Daddy...
I'm not spoiled, I'm just doted on - deservedly so of course...
I love being a Daddy's Girl! Can you tell?

Hope you are doted on this Tortie Tuesday!
Isabella

PeeS: One week from tomorrow is my big surgery with the dental specialist. I start antibiotics and get a cortisone shot tomorrow to prepare for it. Daddy is so nervous about all of this and very worried about me. Mommy tries to reassure him but she's nervous too so she's not very effective. They are both worry warts! Anyway, I know there's lots of friends in need of purrs these days but if you can add me to that list I'd appreciate it!

Weekend Wrap Up

It's already past the middle of November and two weeks from Mommy's craft show. Time is going fast even for us kitties! We did get a break for movie night. One of us didn't see much of the movie though since she was being spoilt rotten...
She's totally a Daddy's Girl! Yesterday we had rain with sunbreaks so even though it was cold and the heater was on, I did get to see the Birdie Network in stereo...
You probably can't tell but I'm also helping Mommy make beady goodies. I provided the color inspiration behind this necklace...
We're officially up to five new necklaces for her show. We're going to make a couple more then make bracelets and journals. Pretty sure time is going to run out first. We'll do our best. We always do!

What did you do this weekend?

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Finally Friday

We're so glad it's Friday! We've had a busy week working, making beady goodies and even helping with more CPE for Mommy's CPA (unfortunately the accounting kind, not the Cats Personal Assistant kind). We were looking forward to watching the Birdie Network this weekend but a big storm is on its way so the show might be canceled...
Well, one of us wouldn't mind that...
It's tough being so hard working but somekitties have to do it!

Hope you have a great Friday the 13th! Happy weekend too!

Happy Veterans Day!

Today our thoughts are with the men and women who have served both past and present in the armed services...
We are thankful to our veterans for their courage and dedication to our country.  We certainly are the home of the free because of the brave!

We are proud to be Americats!

We hope you enjoy your Veterans Day!

Tortie Tuesday

It's another dreary, rainy day so I offered to help Mommy make some beady goodies. Okay, truth be told, I couldn't sleep because of the lawn guy next door, the tree guys across the cul-de-sac and the bug man at our house (he's the reason we have no spiders to play with). Anyway, I might as well help since I'm wide awake...
Whoa Mommy! Look what those tree guys are doing!
Oh, sorry, I got distracted...
Back on track I checked out the beady goodies from every angle...
By then, the cul-de-sac cleared out and it was nap time...
At least I helped her get farther along then my little sisfur did yesterday...
There's 20 days left until Mommy's show. At this rate we'll have three and a half new pieces for her to take! It's a tough job helping build up inventory but someTortie has to do it!

Hope you have a quiet day in your neck of the woods!

Weekend Wrap Up

Fall is more normal this year with rainy, dreary days perfect for napping. That is exactly what our weekend was like. Well, at least it started out that way...
Go ahead. I'll give you another minute to look at that photo again and squee at my cuteness.
*waits patiently and covers ears*
I'm pretty used to that since my mommy squees all. the. time. Anyway, yesterday I was ready for more napping but somemommy was panicking over having a craft show in three weeks and not enough inventory which meant I had to snoopervise beady goodies...
It appears I was the inspiration too...
She completed two necklaces this weekend and wanted to make a third but for some unknown reason she changed her mind...
Here's a sneak peek through the floof of what we'll be making eventually...
It's a tough job being a cute task master but somekitty's got to do it!

Did you do anything fun this weekend?

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Finally Friday

It's been a really long week. Maybe it's because breakfast, snacks, brunch, snacks, lunch, snacks, dinner, snacks and bedtime treats have all be an hour late every day! Combine that with Mommy forgetting our Gotcha Day and she worked in the office more so as I said, it's been a really long week. But, I'm taking matters into my own paws and blocking access to the computer...
At least until it's time to eat. Or sleep. Just sayin.

How was your week after the time change?

Enjoy your Friday! Have a great weekend too!
Angel

PeeS: Thanks to the Gotcha Day comments we'll be donating $50 to Heartland Humane Society - the shelter we were Gotcha'd from!

Belated Gotcha Day Cuteness

We cannot believe our mommy forgot our 9th Gotcha Day until she saw the comments on yesterday's post! Unbelievable! To make up for it, we're going to donate $1 for every comment on yesterday and today's post to Heartland Humane Society - the shelter we were Gotcha'd from. Also, here's a squee-worthy photo of us one week after coming to our new furever home...
Not much has changed in 9 years!
Thanks to everyone for the Gotcha Day wishes! We appreciate them! Even if our mommy is forgetful, we're glad to be a part of this family and to have been raised by our angel sisfur Sadie!

Enjoy your day!

Tortie Tuesday

Addendum: Today is our 9th Gotcha Day! SomeMommy forgot so we'll have her make it up later this week. Sheesh! Thanks for everyone who sent wishes and reminded her!
************************************
Since it's my special day I thought I'd show you some of the special treatment I get around here. As you know, I went to the vet each of the past two weeks. It's traumatic enough for me to go since I get so car sick but when I come home, my little sisfur hisses and bops me with her big floofy paws. To keep the peace, Mommy moved one of our cat trees to another open window so we'd each have our own Birdie TV. Of course, Angel has to scratch on mine to let me know she's near...
She thought about jumping up onto my tree...
But she just kept walking around stalking me...
I ignored her hoping she'd go to her own tree...
Lo and behold, she did!
It's nice to get the special treatment I deserve!
To be fair, she only hissed and bopped me for two days last week but still, that was two days too many!

Hope you enjoy some special treatment this Tortie Tuesday!
Isabella

PeeS: Someone suggested rubbing a towel on Angel and then on me to stop her from being so hissy. We'll certainly try that next time!
