This Is Us This Week

We've been kind of quiet around here since 'tis the season of taxes. Don't worry, we take time off to watch snowflakes...

We've also been quiet since we've all had to go to the vet for our check ups. I had a follow up blood test after the one I got for my dental last fall showed I was close to having hypothyroidism. Well, now I do have it. Since I turn into the Tasmanian devil when given a pill, I have to have stuffs put on my ear every day forever. Because this isn't as easy to regulate as a pill, I'll be tested more often to see how I'm doing. 

Isabella's exam showed that she's dropped in weight from 14.75 lbs to the same size as me - 11.2 lbs. Turns out she's hyperthyroid too! None of us would've thunk it! She'll get pills every day forever since she has no teeth but she'll swallow it in half a pill pocket. A whole pill pocket is too big to swallow. Other than us both being hyperthyroid and Isabella having asthma, our tests showed we're healthy and doing well as senior kitties! 

As for Lexi, her exam was fine. She's 57 lbs and just plain hyper. She'll be spayed soon but the vet suggested she go through a heat cycle first. Oh joy. He said that waiting decreases hip and joint problems, however, it also increases her chance of cancer from 1% to 5%. Since the hip issues are more likely, she'll probably have to wait. Whenever it's done we're all hoping it calms her down. She's been in obedience school for five weeks and will officially flunk out at her final class next week. That is if Daddy takes her. It's not that she's a dumb dog like Bella and I think she is, because actually she's super smart. It's because she's too friendly and wants to play with the other dogs and their peeps. She listens to Daddy as long as he has treats but she knows when he runs out so does the doggy version of  "lalalalala, I can't hear you!" Let's just say, she better be glad there's a room full of witnesses! Anyway, she's a pawful in public and we're hoping she grows out of it. Soon.

Our 12th Gotcha Day!

Oh, hey there...

Caturday, November 3rd is our 12th Gotcha Day! That's a whole lot of years since we first cuddled together back in 2006...

We may be more mature now but we're still as cute as we were way back then! To celebrate our special day, we hope you get an extra hour of sleep this weekend!

It's Friday and it's also the International Day of Peace. It's been more peaceful around here...

It helps that somepuppy has been respecting boundaries despite someTortie taunting her. Anyway, we'll keep striving for peace in our household and peace in the world. We need it.

This was the longest short week ever. We're glad it's the weekend! I plan to hang out with Mommy and nap...

Isabella will enjoy our cooler air through open windows all while keeping one eye on somepuppy...

Lexi plans on letting it all hang out just as she does every day...

Trust us, it's good to let sleeping puppies lie. Seriously.

Finally Friday

We're sure glad it's Friday! It's been another long week with leaveitNOstopitgetdownNO Lexi here which is why we're late in posting today. She was so wound up this morning that after an hour of her being crazypuppy, Mommy did go crazy and contemplated running away from home! Daddy came home to give them both a time out which Mommy spent relaxing upstairs with us...

More progress was made with Lexi this week but she has a ways to go yet. On their three walks a day, so many people stop and say how cute she is...

Mommy says being cute is her saving grace. Lexi knows it too because she can work those puppy eyes like nobuddy's business! Anyway, we're glad for the weekend so one of the peeps can puppy sit while the other spends more time with us!

Finally Friday

We hope you had a good week and that our U.S. friends had a Happy 4th! We've enjoyed our staycation with the peeps although we could've done without the fireworks going until after 11pm on the 4th. One of us hid in the basement while the other kept Mommy company...

Other than that we watched the squirrels chasing each other around a tree. You can kinda see one of them on the top of the tree trunk...

Our weather was perfect so we napped with the windows open...

Of course Daddy took Mommy to her happy place again. Most beaches were packed with tourists but they went to their secret beach where they had it all to themselves...

Daddy had to go to back to work yesterday but we have a few more days of relaxation before we go back to work with Mommy on Tuesday. Next week is going to get hot here - mid to upper 80s - so we will be sure to enjoy open window whiffs before then.

Not Feeling It Today...

It took five minutes but it worked! We may not be blog worthy but we're all spiffed up for the weekend!

Finally Back!

We had a great blogcation! We had the right balance between attention from the peeps home and naps when they were doing yardwork or painting the garage or out doing whatever which they did quite a bit. Of course they went to Mommy's happy place...

They also hiked on the highest peak in the Oregon Coast range, Mary's Peak. They went to the top which is elevation 4097' compared with the elevation of 235' in our town 25 miles away...

They also hiked to some waterfalls...

In addition to all that, Mommy took care of the neighbor kitties, Dez and Callie. Dez makes her smile...

She gets them a new toy whenever she takes care of them. She gets us one too...

Hope they liked their mousie as much as we do ours...

Besides all the napping and playing, we had several movie nights...

You know, we thought peeps were supposed to be quiet during movies but our mommy complains the entire time about her numb legs and feets. It makes it really hard to enjoy the show. Anyway, we're kinda slow in getting back in the groove but we'll be back to normal soon!

Finally Friday

It's finally Friday and the remodel is finally over...

Well, at least the noisy stranger is finally done. He finished yesterday afternoon. Who knew it'd take all week to do a tiny backsplash and install the faucet! As you can see, there are still missing items such as a mirror...

It'll be up later along with other things including the door. Yes, the noisy stranger forgot to put the door back on! Makes it easier for us kitties to go in but guests probably won't like it too much. Anyway, we're all glad it's finally over. 

Since we take weekends off, we want to be sure and wish the moms of kids with and without fur a Happy Mother's Day!

Sending extra special Mother's Day wishes to our Grandma in Vegas! She had surgery last Friday but is recovering well. Our Aunt Dolly is a good little nurse!

Finally Friday

We're glad it's finally Friday! It's been a long week of working, soaking up sunpuddles and doing the initial inspections in the half bath...

The new light is up, the floor is in, the storage drawer is complete and the cherry wood vanity doors are upstairs soaking up sunlight to darken them to a richer tone to match the drawer front. I hereby declare it's ready for completion...

Especially since the backsplash tile and trim finally arrived yesterday...

If all goes as planned, the noisy stranger will be here Monday morning to finally finish. The total work in this remodel is probably just a week but circumstances caused it to drag on and on. It's kinda like how long it'd take Isabella to do it in between her 20 hour naps. Just sayin.

We're finally done with tax season! It's the last day I'll watch the world, and birdies, wake up outside this window at o'dark thirty...

Oh my Cod, I just realized breakfast is going to be later from now on!

Nah, that won't happen. I'll just do laps all over Mommy to wake her up. Nothing's going to change except we don't have to work so early nor so much. Much more time for naps!

Finally Friday

Oh my Cod this has been a long week. With a month left to go in tax season, we're exhausted...

No rest for the weary though because somemommy decided this is a good time to start a remodel of the remaining part of 1978 in our house...

Since it's a little half bath we're hoping it takes a little time to remodel and makes a lot less noise than it did on day one. Hard working kitties need their daily beauty naps!

Snow Day!

Yesterday we got snow that may not look like much but it was enough to cause our Daddy's minions to start texting at 5am that they'd be late for work. At 7:30am! We think they enjoy waking us up. Anyway, once it was light enough, we could see how much snow there was...

Oregonians do not know what to do with snow! I may be a native Oregonian but I was raised by an Alaskan husky so I watch the snow from an open window...

And then cuddle with a warm Tortie...

Snow days aren't so bad. Well, except for the early wake up calls. Ugh.

Friday Flashback to Sadieday!

We had a long week working 10 hour days so we can enjoy some time off today so we're doing a Friday Flashback. We chose this post from February 2012 with our angel sisfur Sadie because the photos make our mommy smile. We hope they make you smile too!

Ha roo! It's Sadieday! I love Sadieday and I love strolls so this is the bestest day of the week! I'm ready to go so grab some water and let's get a move on!
The sign says the road is closed but with 4-paw drive I can go anywhere!
I don't know why this road is closed, it looks perfect to me!
It's even got some great off-roading spots too... Obviously the road must be closed just for me to enjoy on Sadieday...
And enjoy it I did and I hope you did too! Be sure to enjoy the roads less traveled in your neck of the woods!
