Tortie Tuesday

 ♫ I'm a Tortie teapot short and stout ♫
Uh, how long have you been standing there Mommy?
Can't a Tortie not get any privacy especially on Tortie Tuesday?
Sheesh!

Hope you have a song in your heart today!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a great weekend!  We had a lazy, sunpuddle filled weekend even if I had to search out and find the sunpuddle...
We spent a lot of time napping too since Mommy and Daddy were gone a lot of the time.  Friday they went to the coast where Mommy could get her ocean fix...
Even though they saw super fresh fish, do you think we got any?  Nope!  Do you spot the birdie?
When they were eating lunch, this is what parked right in front of them...
Dogs are weird.
Yesterday Mommy and Daddy went on a walk and Mommy didn't notice the horse saying 'Cheese' until she got home and then she giggled her fool head off.  All day...
Mommy's weird too.  Anyway, back to work today since there's just 2 1/2 weeks of tax season left!  Yay!

What did you do this weekend?

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Finally Friday

We're so glad it's Friday!  We've had a busy week preparing tax returns and watching it rain...
But the sun came back out yesterday for the first time since our new landscaping was done which reminded us that we never showed photos.  We'll blame that on Mommy of course but anyway, let's start with the before view from the deck...
Behind the evergreen trees was a pathway that was pretty much only used by the neighbor cat Dooney since it was made of lava rock which Mommy hated...
After 11 days of working with just one day off, the landscapers transformed the previously unusable space to a new very usable space...
Mommy still has to stain the replaced board in the deck and figure out what she wants to plant in all the new space but she's very happy with the quartz stone pathway which leads to a patio in the back...
She also loves the view from the patio of the snow covered Three Sisters which you can kinda see in this photo through the hazy sky...
There's a view the other direction too - of the new indoor only neighbor kitties watching Mommy!
Those kitties made her smile!  We have noticed that since the landscape change, the outdoor neighbor cats don't visit as often which is an added bonus!  Especially since Daddy will be putting up the bird feeder again this weekend - yay!

Mommy and Daddy took the day off today so we're going to enjoy a long, sunpuddle filled weekend!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Break Time

We spend all day helping Mommy with tax returns so when we get a chance for a break, we make the most of it and sometimes that involves a bath.  At the same time.  On opposites sides of the room.  You'd think after all our hard work we could bathe in peace but noooo, Mommy says we're noisy!
*slurp, slurp, slurp*
*slurp, slurp, slurp*
*slurp, slurp, slurp*
*slurp, slurp, slurp*
You're right Mommy, Isabella is noisy!
Thank Cod there's just three weeks left of tax season.  Taxes are hard work but somekitties have to do them!

Hope you enjoy a peaceful break today!

Tortie Tuesday

I don't know about you but even though the time change was two weeks ago, I'm still not used to it.  When the alarm goes off at o'dark thirty I just know it's an hour earlier than it should be!   Regardless, I stretch out my voluptuous Tortie legs and go right back to sleep...
That is until Mommy's giggles wake me up...
Seriously Mommy, what is so funny?
Clearly she's a few hours sleep short of a full load.  Now if she'll just leave I can get back to my beauty sleep...
Moms are easily amused sometimes aren't they?

Are you adjusting to getting up in the dark better than I am?

Enjoy some zzzz's this Tortie Tuesday!

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a rainy, dreary weekend which means there wasn't much to do but make biscuits and nap...
We held down the couch too...
Guess we worked harder this weekend than we thought!

What'd you do this weekend?

Happy Monday!

'How To Speak Cat' - Book Review and Giveaway!

We were given the opportunity to review Natural Geographic's book How to Speak Cat: A Guide to Decoding Cat Language...
President and CEO of the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA, Gary Weitzman, DVM, serves as a guide throughout this book.    Although How to Speak Cat is aimed at kids ages 8-12, adults will enjoy the interesting commentary and beautiful photos...
How to Speak Cat discusses all things about us cats like our whiskers, tails, eyes, expressions, meows and yowls.  Wanna know why we do head butting and face rubbing?  It's in there!
Do you know what I'm feeling right now?
Scattered through the pages are Kitty Cases which describe scenarios then asks the reader questions and follows up with resolutions.  There's also training tips, quizzes, history and information on cats and fur colors.  This book sure covers all things cats and illustrates that kitties may be complex but we're all the same in certain ways...
We did disagree with one part of the book that says that kitties don't like tummy rubs.  We LOVE tummy rubs and we're pretty sure we're not the only ones!

We give How to Speak Cat four paws up and we're sure you will too!  We have the opportunity to give a copy of this book away to one of our readers!  We're sorry to our international friends but the giveaway is only available to those in the United States.  The book will be mailed directly from the publicity company so make sure we have a way to contact you.  Please enter below.  Good luck!

Have a wonderful Spring weekend!

Chillin' with Daddy

Isabella isn't the only Daddy's girl in our house...
I'll be watching March madness with him since Mommy can't stand basketball!  She doesn't know what she's missing!

Hope you have a chillin' kind of day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Is it a coincidence that a day filled with good luck happens to fall on Tortie Tuesday?  I think not because I won the luck lottery by being a Tortie...
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to look for leprechauns...
May the luck of the Tortie be with you today!

Enjoy your St. Patrick's Day!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a great weekend!  It was rainy and icky here which is the perfect weather to snuggle with Mommy...
When we snuggled Saturday night, Mommy told me all about her day in Portland where Summer and her human were participating in a cat show.  Summer is only 11 months but she was very purrfessional while being judged and her human is looking on...
Isn't she adorable as her human is holding her...
Mommy petted Summer a lot and even got to give her a tummy rub!  She said Summer was a lovebug who rubbed her sweet face against Mommy's hand right away and let her put her fingers all over her.   Mommy didn't hold her because 1) she was afraid she'd muss up her furs and 2) she didn't trust herself to give her back!  Yep, Mommy was smitten with Summer and she enjoyed meeting her and visiting with her human but she still thinks I'm the cutest ever...
Of course she does.  How could she not?

Did you do anything fun this weekend?

Have a snuggly kind of day!

Finally Friday

It's Friday the 13th so guess which black Tortie got woke up to do today's post...
Actually, we don't believe in any superstitions related to Friday the 13th but as long as I'm up maybe there's something good on the Birdie Network...
If not, I believe I'll be taking another nap!

Mommy has been super busy and she plans on seeing Summer and her human this weekend so we're going to take a long weekend.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

No Rest for the Hard Working

With a little over a month left of tax season, I'm doing my best to make sure Mommy doesn't slack off.  I try to catch her off guard by making it seem like I'm not working...
But I don't miss a deduction or a 1099!
Taxes are hard work but somekitty's gotta do them!

Do you help with taxes?

Hope you don't have to work hard today!

PeeS:  Today is day 8 of  the noisy strangers here doing our huge landscaping project so we're still behind in lots of blog things but hope to be back to normal eventually!

Tortie Tuesday

Rumor has it that the rain returns tomorrow so I'm going to soak up as much sunpuddles as I can this Tortie Tuesday...
Mommy, what do you mean I'm weird?  How else can I warm my Tortie toesies?
Why don't you just let me soak up sunpuddles all by my Tortie self?
Oh great.  Not my floofy little sisfur too...
Everyone wants to be part of Tortie Tuesday...
Can't say as that I blame them though.  It's good to be Tortielicious!

Hope you have a Tortie kind of day!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a purrfect weekend!  The noisy strangers were back working in the yard on Sadieday while we were working hard holding down the furniture...
We're so skilled, we make it look easy...
After they left, we switched tasks and held down Mommy...
It's a tough job being holder downers but somekitties got to do it!

How'd you spend your weekend?

Hope you have a sunny Monday!

Finally Friday

We're so glad it's Friday because we're looking forward to a quiet weekend!  Between working on taxes, the noisy strangers working on the yard and Mommy going up and down the stairs a squizillion times to go out and see what they're doing, it's tough getting some rest!  We did manage to enjoy a few moments in a sunpuddle...
But then we heard a Cod awful sound on the deck.  My little sisfur Angel took off downstairs but I went to see what all the commotion was...
It was two dogs!
What the halibut are you doing on MY deck Dog?
Of course I won the stare down and then went to go find my little sisfur.  While I was doing this, Mommy realized she didn't have her shoes on (like always) and tried to open the door to come inside for her shoes.  The brown dog put her nose in the door and was so strong she pushed it open and came inside and chased me!  She was hot on my tail all the way upstairs with Mommy running behind screaming HBO words!  I got away and Mommy finally got the dog outside again but the whole situation freaked me out for the rest of the day!
The dogs' dad came and got them awhile later but I stayed on top of the cat tree and wouldn't let Mommy near me.  No matter how much she washed her hands or how many times she changed her clothes, she still smelled like that stinky dog!  Daddy checked me over when he got home but I was okay.  I was very cautious going around every corner the rest of the night though.  I hope those dogs never come back!

Hope you have a quiet day!
Isabella

Mommy here:  The dogs live on the other side of our neighborhood and their dad said they are escape artists especially the girl.  He said they have a chain link fence, three wire mesh fences and then a privacy fence but she is still able to get out and the other one follows.  She didn't have a tag on but the other one did so I was able to call their dad at work in another town so it took him awhile to get here.  The landscapers weren't here at the time so I was able to keep our gate closed so they didn't run to the next county by the time he got here!  It was just too much excitement that none of us wanted!
