April 15th Finally!

Boy are we glad today is finally here! We made it to tax day and only have one more return to do - Mommy and Daddy's tax return! They're going to owe this year so she doesn't want to do it. It's a good thing we're on the job though! Anyway, since the last time we posted, we've had quite a bit happen. First of all, let me update you on what's been going on with me...
Turns out I'm allergic to the pills for hyperthyroidism too. My head was all itchy but not as bad as it was on the transdermal stuff. I scratched myself so bad that I had open sores for about a week but it's healed up and just a few little scabs remain. The vet says that I'm not a candidate for the radioactive iodine therapy because although my kidney levels are normal, they're on the high end of normal and something about iodine therapy would mean that if I developed kidney issues in the future, it wouldn't be treatable. So, I'm not on any treatment right now and I'll be tested every 6 months to check my levels and weigh options if anything changes. This news stressed Mommy out but she knows I can't tolerate the medication and she doesn't want to do anything to risk kidney issues in the future.

Isabella is doing fine on the meds, is hungry all the time (like normal) and sleeps a lot (like normal) so she's, well, normal...
Lexi is doing fine too. She's still crazypants but there are finally more moments of calmness than there used to be. Now that she's 11 months old, she sleeps a lot more which is a good thing...
Anyway, that's a bit of what's been going on here. We'll be back to regular visits now that we're not buried in tax returns. Thank you for being patient with us! We can't wait to catch up again!

We hope you have a great Tax Day!

One Month to Go

We know we've been quiet and not visiting much so we wanted to let everyone know that all is well here. We actually enjoyed a weekend away from tax returns with open windows and sunpuddles...
Mommy thinks I'm so cute with the sun lighting up my ears and I have to admit, she's right. Anyway, the countdown is on for tax season to end so we can resume our normal schedule of napping and playing instead of working. We're sorry to be scarce but the end is in sight.

We hope all is well with you!

Enjoy your day!

Finally Friday

We hope your New Year is off to a great start! We've been kinda quiet around here but not for any particular reason other than we're starting to enjoy each other's company...
Yes, that's me being relaxed around Lexi. I decided to start 2019 off by being brave and take back my territory. I've even gone through that little cat door in the gate when Lexi was laying on the steps! It confuses the halibut out of her! MOL! Mommy is so happy because I've also been coming downstairs and hanging out with her again...
Lexi isn't quite as crazypants now that she's 7.5 months old which helps. She's pretty lousy at doing tax returns though so it's going to be a long tax season...
She's on a leash and halter in the office because if she's not, she gets into trouble...
She's a pawful that's for sure! Anyway, we'll continue to post randomly so please bear with us. We do appreciate your visits!

We wish you the best for 2019!

Finally Friday

We're so glad it's Friday!  We've had a busy week preparing tax returns and watching it rain...
But the sun came back out yesterday for the first time since our new landscaping was done which reminded us that we never showed photos.  We'll blame that on Mommy of course but anyway, let's start with the before view from the deck...
Behind the evergreen trees was a pathway that was pretty much only used by the neighbor cat Dooney since it was made of lava rock which Mommy hated...
After 11 days of working with just one day off, the landscapers transformed the previously unusable space to a new very usable space...
Mommy still has to stain the replaced board in the deck and figure out what she wants to plant in all the new space but she's very happy with the quartz stone pathway which leads to a patio in the back...
She also loves the view from the patio of the snow covered Three Sisters which you can kinda see in this photo through the hazy sky...
There's a view the other direction too - of the new indoor only neighbor kitties watching Mommy!
Those kitties made her smile!  We have noticed that since the landscape change, the outdoor neighbor cats don't visit as often which is an added bonus!  Especially since Daddy will be putting up the bird feeder again this weekend - yay!

Mommy and Daddy took the day off today so we're going to enjoy a long, sunpuddle filled weekend!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

What's Going on Around Here...

With less than two weeks to go until the end of tax season and the end of the guest litter box remodel in sight, we've moved back into the real home office from the master bedroom/temporary home office.  Mommy is happy about that but her desk has a pull out keyboard drawer which means I'll miss sitting on her lap...
I'll also miss squeezing through the monitors and often pausing to let her admire my beautiful floofy tail for awhile...
I'll especially miss laying in Daddy's drawers so I'd quit bothering her be happy...
It was fun while it lasted but like tax season, all things must come to an end.  Well, except for the treat supply of course.

What's been going on in your neck of the woods?

Enjoy your day!

Tortie Tuesday

Although I'm a Tortie, I'm pretty sure non-Torties feel the same way about this one topic - if someone wants you to do something, don't do it.  Am I right?  Anyway, I was minding my own business, playing with the crinkly paper when Mommy wanted me to continue playing for a video to prove that I do play and don't just nap all the time.  Well, the only thing that's moving in this video is the camera...
And yep, as soon as she was done I started playing again!  Ha!  If you can't see the video, click here.

Mommy is kinda Tortie like in that we want her to help us blog but it's not even the end of January and she can't find enough time in the day for everything.  Because of this, we're going to let her off the hook during tax season so if she really doesn't have time to help us, we may miss a day or two of posting.  We're not happy with this but it should ease some of her stress which is best for all of us.  Trust me!

I hope you spend your Tortie Tuesday doing whatever you please!

The Other Side...

We realized from the comments on yesterday's post that it seemed like we have a big room all to ourselves but that's not entirely true.  Since our mommy works from home, we have to share with her so this is her side of the room...
Pretty messy huh?  This is what our work days look like - Angel sits between Mommy and the back of the chair and I hold the beds down...
We know more about taxes than any kitty should from the years of helping Mommy with tax returns!  We're very hard workers so we totally deserve our slice of the cat tree jungle and aren't spoilt one bit!
Is it break time yet?
Snuggling is the best perk of this job!

Hope you get some snuggles today too!

Finally Friday

We're glad it's finally Friday and week one of tax season is in the books!  Get it?  Books?  As in accounting! MOL! We crack ourselves up!  Anyway, even though Mommy cut her hours this year, she still works more than the rest of the year so I keep her company...
As you can see I let her have half of the chair but she still complains nonstop about having numb butt...
She also tells me it's a good thing I'm cute...
I think it's a good thing that I'm nice enough to keep her company and leave her any room on the chair at all!

Does your human complain when you're being nice and sharing a chair?

Hope your butt is comfy today!

Finally Friday

It's the first Friday of 2014 so I guess I should think about what changes I want to make this year...
I'll make BIG changes and even change directions...
At least I got my changes out of the way early in the year so I don't have to worry about them later!

One thing that doesn't change is that tax season is here so Mommy will be working more.  We're going to give her the weekend off so she can get organized (i.e. makes sure she has enough time for us).   We'll be back on Monday or Tuesday.

Have a great weekend!

Spreading Smiles on Sadieday

Happy last Sadieday of 2013!  Since our Mommy will soon be turning into the full-time tax kind of CPA (blech) instead of the full-time CPA (Cat's Purrsonal Assistant) that we enjoy most of the year, it's a good time to remind everyone that there's only a few days left to maximize your income tax deductions while bringing smiles.  Curious?
Well, of course we're talking about donating to charities.  Even if you don't itemize or need any deductions, cash donations or donations of non-cash items like cat food, dog food, toys or other helpful items to shelters, the charities would be very appreciative and your heart will be happy and a smile will be on your face!
There are ways to donate that don't require cash outlay such as cleaning out your closets and taking gently used clothes and household items to a charity run thrift shop or even taking old blankets and towels to animal shelters.  Dogs would love to sleep on your old blankets this winter!
Feel free to give us other ideas in the comments!
We hope you find plenty to smile about this Sadieday!  Be sure to spread those smiles around since you never know who's day you'll brighten with a smile!

Enjoy your Sadieay and have a great weekend!

PeeS:  If you are donating for the tax benefits, remember to get a receipt!  Your CPA will be grateful!
