Weekend Wrap Up

We're well on our way to re-converting our Mommy from the accounting type of CPA to our type of CPA - Cat's Purrsonal Assistant! I helped her relax as well starting with movie night...

On Saturday she left us to go to an art class with a friend. They did something called gel plate printing. She doesn't really understand the purpose of it but she had fun rolling paint on the gel plate and transferring it to paper. Here are a few of her creations...

Notice how the tiger's eyes in the middle bottom print still show through. She was pretty impressed with that but don't tell her it was pure luck since she had absolutely nothing to do with that happening. Anyway, she had good time despite not knowing what was going on. 

Oh, I successfully got her up early enough Saturday to avoid starvation and when she yelled "SHUSH" to me on Sunday, she woke Daddy up so he fed us. We usually try to let him sleep but hey, whatever it takes!

Life Lately

Four weeks from today will be the first day of non-tax season this year. Four weeks. At this point, this is the way every day looks around here...

We're tired of being in the office all day long. The end is in sight though but our lack of things to talk about and Mommy's lack of picture taking is severely cutting into our post writing. So even though we'll be scarce, we're all okay. We're just tired.

Finally Friday

With the time change last weekend it's been harder than usual to wake up before starting our work day. Just making it to the office is an accomplishment...

Usually TV interests me but not morning TV...

Oh well, guess I might as well bathe and get ready for my day...

Although I really can't wait for tonight...

I might even let Mommy sleep in tomorrow. Maybe.

Almost Friday!

Our week has been much better than last except that Mommy went to the eye doctor yesterday to find out why her right eye is blurry and hurts as the day goes on. Turns out she has keratitis because of dry eyes and the doctor said her cornea looks like stained glass. Yeah, nice. Anyway, she has drops and ointment and was told to rest her eyes. Since she still insists on working, I'm making sure she takes plenty of breaks from staring at screens filled with tax documents by offering myself for scritching...

I know, I'm too good to her. What would she ever do without me? It's a tough job being a CPA Cat but somekitty's got to do it!

Finally Friday

Boy am I glad it's Friday! It's been a busy week! To make sure somemommy didn't wait until the last week of December to do all her CPE for our CPACats license, I helped her finish it this week. This entailed an 8 hour webinar on Estates and Trusts. That was riveting. In addition to that fun, I helped her get the Quickbooks ProAdvisor certification. I was still hard at work well into the evening...

Despite having my eyes closed...

It helps to concentrate on the monotonous videos content. Just saying. Anyway, she finished her CPE and she got her certification. It's a tough job being a CPACat but somekitty's got to do it!

Our Grandpa from Kansas is coming tomorrow so we may or may not be posting next week. We may be too busy being scritched!

PeeS: Several of our friends asked about the new neighbor cat in our Monday post. This kitty and his/her family moved in across the cul-de-sac last summer. They have a one year old sticky person and a German Shepard that live inside but for some reason this kitty is not allowed in although sometimes the garage door is left open a little for shelter. Mommy mentioned the dangers in our neighborhood to them when they were outside after a very loud cat fight between this cat and a stray cat (which of course started in OUR yard!). Dooney's mom said she'll talk to them since Dooney went to the Rainbow bridge recently because of neurological issues that the vet thinks could have come from toxins he got in his fight last June. Anyway, Mommy is staying out of it because our daddy works with that neighbor. She doesn't care if they get mad at her but she doesn't want it to interfere with Daddy's job.

Finally Friday

Even though this was a short week due to the Monday holiday, it was still a busy work week. Between getting clients' bookkeeping caught up and tax returns done for the 9/15 deadline, there's no rest for a CPA cat! Thank Cod I helped or somemommy would've never got it all done...

Seriously, what would she do without me? I think it's about time I'm put on the payroll. It's a tough job but somekitty's got to do it!

Finally Friday

After a busy week, we're glad it's Friday! We're so far behind on getting ready for Christmas that I hope Santa Claws doesn't pass us by! We had to work this week but we also had two days of webinars. One day was just two hours but yesterday was a squizillion eight long, grueling hours. No kitty should know as much about capital gains tax and S-corporations as I do now...

I had to watch it because somemommy procrastinated and needed 34 CPE credits before the end of the year. If you subtract out the ten hours of classes we had this week that means we have three more mind numbing eight hour classes in the next two weeks. Ay yi yi. Anyway, besides all that, I also helped make some Christmas presents too...

Mommy complained when I was sitting on her like that.

How's this Mommy? Can I sit here?

More complaints. Yeah, I know, she should be grateful. *sigh* A bit of good news I guess, I finally like my sisfur again and am actually cuddling with her...

It could be because it's super rainy, dark and cold here but it's mainly because Santa is watching I missed cuddling with her. Isabella is feeling a lot better and even plays with me more. Even though she lost all her teefs, she's still able to eat everything including Greenies. She was visited by the Tooth Fairy and we will be showing what she got when somemommy finds the time to help us get photos and blog about it. Anyway, after all that you can see why I'm so glad it's Friday! We hope you are too!

Thank Cod for the Weekend...

Because Mommy is a worry wart wanted to keep an eye on me yesterday*, she made me stay in the living room while she had a webinar. I thought, how bad could it be to lay on the comfy couch for two hours and nap. What I didn't know is that I'd have to listen to a man go on and on about tax stuff...

Hey, whatcha you two doing? Oh my Cod, another webinar? Bella, I warned you about those! Uh, I have important business to take care of anywhere but here! See ya!

Yes, she did warn me and no, I didn't listen. I sure wish I had because this is excruciating...

I am a very patient Tortie but I'm reaching my tolerance limit...

Does he ever stop Mommy?

That was the longest two hours! I know more about taxes than any Tortie should. Ever!

*Mommy here: I kept an eye on Isabella yesterday because Wednesday night she had several asthma attacks despite receiving twice the inhaler treatment plus the cortisone shot earlier that evening. The first attack around 9pm was a high pitched squeaky wheezy sound that we've never heard before. I actually thought she was choking on a Greenies treat I had given them not long before that but she was purring and breathing fine in between this sound. Yes, I googled Heimlich maneuver for cats because I really thought she was choking! I stayed up most the night listening for her and checking on her in the dark. Thankfully she's predictable where she sleeps! She had a couple more attacks until about 3am but they were more normal sounding. I made her stay by me yesterday and she had no more attacks so hopefully this was all caused by the stress of the car ride Wednesday. Oh how I wish she didn't have to go through this. It's heart breaking to not understand what is happening and how to help her. 

Weekend Wrap Up

Can you believe it's November already? We can't! Since the end of the year is near, Mommy has to get caught up on her classes needed for her CPA stuffs (the accounting kind, not the Cats Personal Assistant kind). I have to say, webinars are the most boring thing ever...

I had to help in order to answer periodic poll questions. Everyone knows someTortie can't stay awake for nothing so she would have been zero help. The weekend wasn't a complete bust. I got to hang out in my blanket hammick on Mommy's legs during the Royals game...

Mommy missed a lot of the game because she was watching me. I'm so cute she can hardly stand it...

It actually rained really hard Halloween night so even if we hadn't turned out the lights and hid in the Mancave we don't think we would've had any little sticky goblins at our door. We did have a spooky Tortie goblin though...

Am I Distracting?

As you know, our Mommy telecommutes to Colorado from her office right here at home so she can spend time with us we can help her do all her CPA stuffs. For some reason though she says I distract her with my cuteness...

I don't think I'm distracting, she just has a short attention span. Oh hey, there's birdies!

Yeah, okay, I get her point. Guess that's why we make such a great tax team!

April 15th!

It's finally April 15th!

That means tax season is over!

YAY!

Sorry, I got a tad bit excited.
Even though we had the best tax season ever, we're still glad it's over.  Now comes the real hard work of changing Mommy from a tax type CPA to our type of CPA - Cat's Personal Assistant!  Our work is never done.

With a little over a month left of tax season, I'm doing my best to make sure Mommy doesn't slack off.  I try to catch her off guard by making it seem like I'm not working...

But I don't miss a deduction or a 1099!

Birthday Celebration!

Today is our Mommy's squizillion and sixth birthday!

Of course she's WAY older than she was back then but she was already on her way to becoming a CPA (the accountant kind)...

We're making sure she takes a day off from being an accountant for the next five days...

That'll leave her plenty of time to be the other kind of CPA (cat's personal assistant kind)!

We're going to enjoy a long weekend filled with frosting, treats, scritches, toys and cuddles so we'll be back on Tuesday!

We hope you have some treats today too!

It's the End of the Month

It's June 30th which means today is Mommy's last day as a salaried CPA (the accountant kind) and now can work full time as our CPA (Cat's Purrsonal Assistant)!  We'll have more time to for playing and also watching videos like Mister's - our bunny friend from Facebook...

Wait, what'd you say Mommy?  You'll still be working part time as a CPA (the accountant kind) so won't be a full-time CPA (the Purrsonal Assistant kind)?  Why weren't we consulted?  Shouldn't we have a vote in this decision?  *sigh*  Oh well, guess the green papers (although a lot less) will help buy us more treats!

June 30th is also the last day of Adopt A Shelter Cat month so if you've been thinking of bringing a kitty into your home, now is a great time!  There are lots of cats and kittens out there waiting for their furever home so check out the shelters and rescues in your area and you might just find the purrfect new member of your family! 

Remember, any time is a good time to adopt a cat or a woofie so we think every month should be Adopt A Shelter Pet month!

Not Working Wednesday!

Mommy is leaving her job but yet she continues to work Monday through Wednesday until the end of June.  We think that's way too long to wait for her to spend every moment catering to our every need so I took issues into my own paws, er, patooty...

Yep, I'm sitting smack dab on her wrist!  

That didn't stop her from grabbing her phone and taking a photo with her left hand and it didn't stop her from working either!  Don't worry, I'll figure out another way to get her to devote all her waking hours to ME!  

We're ready for our CPA (Cats Personal Assistant) to work for us!

Finally Friday!

Oh what a week this has been!  As you may have seen on FB, Mommy is leaving her job of 16 years to officially become the right kind of CPA (Cat's Personal Assistant) and totally devote every waking minute to us!  What's that Mommy?  You're not going to be catering to us every minute of the day?  Oh alright.  She still will be doing the other kind of CPA tax stuff for a friend but won't be working nearly as much.  Her friend's CPA firm is in Colorado so that means she'll still be telecommuting from home so we can help her.  She's much happier already with the stress of tax season off her shoulders and as long as our foods don't run out, we're happy too!  Anyway, we don't think we ever updated that the guest litterbox remodel is officially complete!  I was supposed to model it but since I still had valerian root in my system, I wiggled a bit...

Since Isabella never wiggles she'll continue the tour but you can see that the backsplash is complete (ignore the reflection in the mirror)...

It's the same border tile that's in the shower.  The little squares that are lighter colored are actually clear glass with silver at the bottom of the tile.  Hard to tell in photos we know...

Because of the silver glass tiles (and because of cost savings due to expected leaving of job), the fixtures are all chrome...

It's kinda freaky seeing our reflections though!

Of course we have kitty art on the walls...

I think that's everything.  Did I forget anything Angel?

Yeah, the faucet makes the perfect kitty fountain!

That's the grand tour of the new guest litterbox and one good thing about Mommy's job situation is no more noisy strangers are expected any time soon!
