Almost Done!

Phew! We've been MIA for quite awhile! This tax season has been been one of the worst we've ever worked through because of new tax laws coupled with new software. Oh, and a puppy...

Lexi tolerates taxes when she's sleeping but when she's awake, she has ants in her pants! She's still leashed to the desk most days because she's stealthy and leaves the room when we're sleeping working and gets into things she's not supposed to like our foods. Mommy isn't too keen on her looking out the sliding glass door in the bedroom and barking at the neighbor either. The neighbor doesn't hear her but we all have to be peeled from the ceiling. Anyway, she gets better every day but we're all glad when Daddy comes home and puppy sits so we can get the warm spot work done...

One last update on us. We're both on the same meds for hyperthyroidism but Angel was on the transdermal kind. Well, she had a really bad reaction that caused her to scratch her head so bad it was bright pink and covered with open sores. The vet said to stop the meds for a week to see if she gets better and then give it to her again to see if it's really the meds causing it. Since nothing else had changed, there's no way Mommy is going to experiment on her and possibly cause it to happen again so Angel will be getting the same pills as me. We get them in pill pockets because it's easy for me to swallow half of a pill pocket since I have no teeth. Angel turns into the Tasmanian devil when given a pill but she doesn't know it's in a pill pocket. Hopefully this continues to work for my little sisfur. Anyway, that's a quick update on us. Only two more weeks for the end of tax season so please be patient with us!

One Month to Go

We know we've been quiet and not visiting much so we wanted to let everyone know that all is well here. We actually enjoyed a weekend away from tax returns with open windows and sunpuddles...

Mommy thinks I'm so cute with the sun lighting up my ears and I have to admit, she's right. Anyway, the countdown is on for tax season to end so we can resume our normal schedule of napping and playing instead of working. We're sorry to be scarce but the end is in sight.

Weekend Wrap Up

Winter weekends here are dreary and wet but that doesn't stop me from wanting window whiffs...

I'm still not happy that Lexi is here but I don't let her stop me from coming downstairs anymore. After all, this was my house first! To show her who's boss, I even help myself to her water...

It's funny to watch her try to figure out why my smells are on her bowls! MOL! Anyway, I also helped Mommy work on tax returns so to cap off the winter weekend, I cuddled with the resident cuddling professional...

Today it's back to work since taxes are never ending. It's a tough job being a CPA Cat but somekitty's got to do it.

Finally Friday

We've had a long short week at work. Last weekend, Mommy was in Texas until Monday night so after a fun few days with Daddy, she made us go back to work Tuesday. Lexi doesn't think taxes are quite as fun...

For that matter, we don't either...

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a rainy and windy weekend. There wasn't much to do besides nap since even the birdies weren't out and about...

It's going to rain more this week but we won't notice since we'll be working hard to finish up tax returns...

Paws crossed this will be our last week of tax season! It's been our busiest one in quite awhile so we're all ready for it to end. Not sure we want the early morning meals to end but it'll be nice to have all of Mommy's attention again!

Wordless Wednesday: Long Day in the Office

Thank Cod It's Friday!

This last week of March was a doozy. There was no work done on our half bath after Mommy painted it last weekend. Supposedly it'll be done next week but we'll see. At least the faucet Mommy ordered arrived in a really cool box...

Our neighbor has a cat sitter staying with her kitties while she's away but he also had to go out of town for three days this week so Mommy took care of Dez and Callie.She felt bad she couldn't spend much time with them especially since Dez upped the cuteness each visit...

We're already 20 returns over what we prepared through the last day of tax season last year. That means we're extra exhausted. Thankfully spring has returned so we can relax in sunpuddles this weekend...

Monday is April and we're certainly ready. Just a couple more weeks until we can go back to part time for the rest of the year. It's a tough job being CPA cats but somekitties have to do it!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a good weekend! Ours was cold and quick. It snowed on Friday, Saturday was 38 degrees and rainy but that didn't stop somemommy from going to her happy place...

Instead of curling up in a blanket with us when they got home, she painted primer on the new wall in the half bath. Since the door is off and there's a big, enticing hole in the wall where a drawer will eventually be, she stuck a perfectly good Chewy box in it in case one of us got the idea to jump up in that hole...

She's a party pooper. Anyway, yesterday she slept late so our breakfast was late. Then she painted the half bath and Daddy worked again last night so none of us slept. Supposedly that is the absolute last time he has to work through the night and we all hope that's true. Today is already starting off better because it's the last week of March! Only three more weeks of tax season! Woo hoo! We're awesome CPA Cats but after nearly 300 tax returns, we're pretty tired and ready for it to be over.

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday and today is the official four week mark until the end of tax season on April 17th. We'll all be glad about that. There's so much going on around here that even I've been discombobulated. Not only do we have tax returns coming out our wazoo and a noisy stranger remodeling downstairs, Daddy has been working a night shift once a week. Without him home, I can't sleep. Neither can Mommy so I sit on his pillow, loom over her and purr really loud. She turned on the light at 3am to take a pic to show him why she can't sleep when he's gone...

He thought I was cute so her attempt to get me in trouble went over like a lead balloon. Anyway, because I don't sleep the night he works, I'm exhausted the next day...

Thankfully his night shifts are over so at least all is right in our nighttime world. Now we just have to get through tax season and the remodel without any more sleep disruptions and I'll be a happy Tortie. Yeah, okay, I'm always happy so I guess I mean Mommy will be the happy.

Finally Friday

Oh my Cod this has been a long week. With a month left to go in tax season, we're exhausted...

No rest for the weary though because somemommy decided this is a good time to start a remodel of the remaining part of 1978 in our house...

Since it's a little half bath we're hoping it takes a little time to remodel and makes a lot less noise than it did on day one. Hard working kitties need their daily beauty naps!

Another weekend just flew by. A lot of people say that cats don't notice the weekends but we do. Somemommy who's usually home with us 24/7 during the week doesn't always stay home all weekend. This means that we sacrifice meal times for her to run off to some happy place...

And again not bring home anything that'd make us happy...

It's certainly not because of lack of choices...

Anyway, we searched for photos of us from this weekend and we got nothin'. No pics of us. No birdies for us. Pretty pathetic. Thank Cod there's only six more weekends until the end of tax season!

Weekend Wrap Up

Welcome to the last week of February! Weekends are short this time of year and they're rainy too. We made the most of the rare sunpuddles on Sadieday...

There were zero sunpuddles yesterday so for the first time this tax season, Mommy decided to get crafty. Of course that meant I had to snoopervise...

We were pleased with how our beady goodies turned out...

They're topless because we're out of earwires but they'll be complete soon. I'm just glad she finally made something. It helps her relax and with seven weeks of tax season left, everyone is happy when Mommy is relaxed. Trust me.

Snow Day!

Yesterday we got snow that may not look like much but it was enough to cause our Daddy's minions to start texting at 5am that they'd be late for work. At 7:30am! We think they enjoy waking us up. Anyway, once it was light enough, we could see how much snow there was...

Oregonians do not know what to do with snow! I may be a native Oregonian but I was raised by an Alaskan husky so I watch the snow from an open window...

And then cuddle with a warm Tortie...

Snow days aren't so bad. Well, except for the early wake up calls. Ugh.

Almost Over

Less than a week to go until the end of tax season and I am so ready. I'm beyond bored with being in the office every day. I'm tired of cat trees, scratchers and tissue paper. I even tire of having the window open quicker than usual...

Mommy does play with me every day and she'll follow me into another room for no particular reason other than I cry and want her to. Still, I can't wait until we spend more hours out of the office than in it.

If you're wondering what Isabella thinks of tax season, well, let's just say she's very well rested from sleeping through it!

Finally Friday

We're so glad it's Friday! After today we work just one more Friday for the rest of the year! Oh, and of course we only have one more week of tax season left! Speaking of which, we're winding down on our work so it's been much more relaxed the past few days...

It's nice to not have to work so hard and just be cute...

Having sunshine this week has been nice to. Life is good!
