Weekend Wrap Up

After many days of rain we finally got a reprieve this weekend. This gave Daddy time to boost our Birdie Network reception...

The birdies have been putting on a show by scrounging in the bushes and trees but I prefer a centralized show on the feeder...

Now that reception has been restored I just have to wait for the Birdie Network to come on...

I'm ready so let's get this show on the road, uh, feeder!

The Birdie TV stars were fashionably late and didn't show up until nap time. Hopefully I catch today's episode though.

Friday Fly By

It's the last day of March! Woo hoo! April is in our sights...

We hope the days until April 18th fly by as fast as the birdies!

After tax season ends, we're looking forward to slowing down and taking time to smell the nip!

Snowbirds!

We're known for rainy winters here in Oregon but this week we got snow! None of us actually like snow but apparently the birdies sure do...

We had birdies from doves to chickadees to bluejays in our front yard! They were so fun to watch...

Yes, even though it was literally freezing outside, Mommy opened the window so we could hear the birdies too...

Although we don't like snow itself, we do enjoy all the snowbirds!

Spring Showers Bring Birdies!

We've been getting lots of rain lately which takes away our sunpuddles but it brings a lot of birdies. It's kinda hard to sneak up to a glass door and watch them when I have floofy white furs though...

I have to be much more stealthy and hide in the wilds of the blinds...

Pretty clever huh? I could watch birdies all day long! Or at least until lunch time.

Holiday Wrap Up

We hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! We had a quiet weekend filled with relaxation...

Santa was good to us too and brought us toys, a gingerbread house and a bed...

Actually he got us two beds since someTortie hogged one of them. Santa is awesome!

We have an all day webinar today and Wednesday so we'll catch up on our naps tax knowledge in time for tax season next week.

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday - my day to do whatever I please! Today I'm relaxing in front of Birdie TV...

Uh oh. I see some white whiskers coming. If I lay really, really still maybe they'll go away...

So much for that idea...

Well, at least I can still see the TV...

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a great weekend! We had a busy weekend. Mommy was finally feeling better and actually was able to get outside for a bit. She hadn't seen the garden in over a week...

Although she was better, Daddy came down with the bug so we had to keep our nurses' hats on. We took turns holding him down and helping Mommy with beady goodies. It may not look like it, but I'm working hard...

We had nice weather which always helps with the reception for Birdie TV. Do you see the little chickadee in the bush? Talk about reality TV!

Last week before Mommy moved my Bird TV table, I found one of the best channels ever...

Despite the rain, the reception was superb...

Finally Friday

Once again we're glad it's Friday!  We've had a busy week taking care of Mommy and also helping with tax stuff.  This weekend we get to play with beady goodies and help make bracelets for all the special requests we have!  That's way funner than taxes!  If your mom is one of those waiting on the bracelets, just know that in between rain showers we'll be taking breaks to watch leaves fall...

And birdies too...

Of course neither one of us enjoy this time of year as much as our sisfur Sadie did...

We hope whatever you do today and this weekend that it fills you with joy!  Be sure and spread that joy and a smile or two to others!

Summer Sadieday

We love lazy summer Sadiedays!  There are so many things we can do like enjoy a sunpuddle...

Or watch birdies...

Or if you're allowed outside, spend some time gardening...

But whatever you do, be sure to smile!

Big Bald Birdies!

Sure there are huskies in Alaska but there are a lot of bald eagles too.  Mommy and Daddy said they could see them flying through the trees from their stateroom balcony but they saw them up close at Icy Strait Point such as this guy who met the cruise ship's tender boats as they came to the pier...

He was keeping an eye on everything from that vantage point.  Can you see him?

They went on a hike through the forest and saw this eagle up high in the tree...

Also this adult and juvenile eagle.  The youngin' blended in real well...

This juvenile was at the harbor in the nearby town of Hoonah, AK.  He may not have his white feathers in yet but he sure has that menacing stare down pat...

Mommy and Daddy walked back to Icy Strait Point from Hoonah and all along the 1.5 mile route the eagles were soaring above them...

They are certainly majestic aren't they?

Of course, Mommy not only spotted the eagles in the area but she also saw this guy...

And this one too...

*sigh* She's hopeless.

Snow Day!

We got snow here in the Willamette Valley which is unusual and of course it happened on Mommy's craft show day so she cancelled and stayed home with us.  There was no snow at all when she got up at 4am but by 5 it was snowing pretty good and this is what it looked like out our front door awhile later.  You can see Daddy's tracks in the snow since he had to go to work...

One good thing about the snow is it really made the Birdie TV reception very strong.  Here I am talking back to the screen (excuse the poor cell phone video quality)...

As it got later, the shows got scarier!  Seriously!  Those birdies got very, very scary!  (Ignore the laughter from the peanut gallery in the video.  I do.)

Anyway, since Mommy got up so early thinking she was going to the show, Daddy told us we have to make her sleep today so she's not cranky tonight.  It's a tough job but somekitty has to do it.

In Our Neck of the Woods

Between the sunpuddles then rain then sunpuddles then rain then...you get the idea, we've been enjoying cooler weather with open windows which means more Birdie TV...

Angel flattens out to watch TV flat to help the reception...

If that doesn't work, Daddy makes sure the reception is as good as it can be...

Something else we're enjoying is having our Grandpa from Kansas here!  He arrived yesterday and rumor has it that Mommy and Daddy will be going somewhere next week so we're going to take a blogcation until October 9th.  We may have some posts before that but we're not positive.  We'll miss everyone and hope you have a great start to October!
