We're Back!

We're back and trying to get back to normal after our long blogcation. We had fun with our Grandpa from Kansas and of course Mommy and Daddy missed us terribly enjoyed their time in Alaska. We've barely looked through her photos but have discovered they saw lots of animals including the elusive moose in Homer...
Eagles in Anchor Point...
Sea Otters in Prince William Sound...
Seals at Surprise Glacier...
And, oh yeah, future Iditarod dogs...
Whatever. Thank Cod she didn't bring any home!

We missed everyone and hope to catch up quickly!

Hope you have a great Monday!

Big Bald Birdies!

Sure there are huskies in Alaska but there are a lot of bald eagles too.  Mommy and Daddy said they could see them flying through the trees from their stateroom balcony but they saw them up close at Icy Strait Point such as this guy who met the cruise ship's tender boats as they came to the pier...
He was keeping an eye on everything from that vantage point.  Can you see him?
They went on a hike through the forest and saw this eagle up high in the tree...
Also this adult and juvenile eagle.  The youngin' blended in real well...
This juvenile was at the harbor in the nearby town of Hoonah, AK.  He may not have his white feathers in yet but he sure has that menacing stare down pat...
Mommy and Daddy walked back to Icy Strait Point from Hoonah and all along the 1.5 mile route the eagles were soaring above them...
They are certainly majestic aren't they?
Of course, Mommy not only spotted the eagles in the area but she also saw this guy...
And this one too...
*sigh* She's hopeless.

Hope you enjoyed seeing the beautiful big bald birdies from Alaska!

Alaskan Woofies on Wednesday

After a really long trip home involving a delayed flight from Fairbanks causing them to miss their connection in Seattle and spending the night in Sea-Tac airport, Mommy and Daddy are finally home and thankfully, without a puppy!  But, as we were looking through their pictures we found out even though they were on a cruise, they were around a lot of woofies up there in Alaska!  The first one was a bulldog who appeared in their room the first night...
But then they met sled dogs that reminded them of our sisfur Sadie in Skagway.  They are at the Gold Rush Dog Sled Tours and have ran the Iditarod with Matt Hayashida...
This puppy may run the Iditarod one day too...
In Denali they met even more puppies at 4 time Iditarod champion Jeff King's Husky Homestead...
Including little Louisa...
Even we admit they're kinda cute like this little two week old yet unnamed baby...
Clipper really reminded them of our sisfur Sadie...
Especially when she did this...
Anyway, we hope they got their fill of woofies since we're not ready for another woofie in our house just yet. Maybe one day we'll change our mind but not yet.

We're getting back to normal around here and we're sure helping them get caught up on all the sleep they lost thanks to 24 hours of sunlight in Alaska then a sleepless night in Seattle.  We'll do our best to get caught up with everyone soon though!

Enjoy your day!

Happy Sadieday!

Yay it's Sadieday! I just love Sadieday but actually Thursday came close to being the bestest day of this week because of what I saw when I looked out the window...
SNOW! Most of the country is having record breaking heat but we got 7 inches (18 cm) of glorious snow! Snow is very unusual in our neck of the woods so Mother Nature is being very good to me this year... Because a husky can't have too many snowballs... But a husky's mom can have frozen fingers so I guess it's time to go in...
Before we go in though I just have to have a little more snow...
I wish it could last forever!

I hope you have a Happy Sadieday!

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday but I have a non-Tortie guest today. Actually, my guest is a mini-Sadie and she's from the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog museum in Wasilla, Alaska. I don't usually allow non-Torties on MY day so we'll see how this goes...

Hey, your breath smells like you've been eating Alaskan salmon!
Can you touch your nose with your tongue like this? I was wondering, since you're from Wasilla, can you seen Russia from your dog house?
Hahahaha! And Sadie thought she was the only jokester in the family!
Didn't you find that funny dude?
*head bumps the bump on a log* That, my mini-me, is the Tortitude I was telling you about! Us woofies have to stick together! By the way, you do smell like Alaskan salmon!
We hope efurryone has a wonderful Tortie Tuesday!

Alaskan Yummies!

While Grandpa was in Alaska, he found out that they have treats up there that are made just for me! I know they are made for me because not only am I an Alaskan Husky, there's a picture of me on the front! Pretty cool huh? He found some treats for my kitty sisfurs too that have a drawing that sorta looks like Isabella... Angel didn't care who was on the front, all she cared about was that the Alaskan salmon smelled yummy! They taste very yummy too... This Alaskan Husky sure loves Alaskan salmon!
Thanks for the tasty treats Grandpa!

Hope you have a great day!
