Finally Friday

It's finally Friday and the remodel is finally over...

Well, at least the noisy stranger is finally done. He finished yesterday afternoon. Who knew it'd take all week to do a tiny backsplash and install the faucet! As you can see, there are still missing items such as a mirror...

It'll be up later along with other things including the door. Yes, the noisy stranger forgot to put the door back on! Makes it easier for us kitties to go in but guests probably won't like it too much. Anyway, we're all glad it's finally over. 

Since we take weekends off, we want to be sure and wish the moms of kids with and without fur a Happy Mother's Day!

Sending extra special Mother's Day wishes to our Grandma in Vegas! She had surgery last Friday but is recovering well. Our Aunt Dolly is a good little nurse!

Finally Friday

Oh my Cod this has been a long week. With a month left to go in tax season, we're exhausted...

No rest for the weary though because somemommy decided this is a good time to start a remodel of the remaining part of 1978 in our house...

Since it's a little half bath we're hoping it takes a little time to remodel and makes a lot less noise than it did on day one. Hard working kitties need their daily beauty naps!

Finally Friday!

Oh what a week this has been!  As you may have seen on FB, Mommy is leaving her job of 16 years to officially become the right kind of CPA (Cat's Personal Assistant) and totally devote every waking minute to us!  What's that Mommy?  You're not going to be catering to us every minute of the day?  Oh alright.  She still will be doing the other kind of CPA tax stuff for a friend but won't be working nearly as much.  Her friend's CPA firm is in Colorado so that means she'll still be telecommuting from home so we can help her.  She's much happier already with the stress of tax season off her shoulders and as long as our foods don't run out, we're happy too!  Anyway, we don't think we ever updated that the guest litterbox remodel is officially complete!  I was supposed to model it but since I still had valerian root in my system, I wiggled a bit...

Since Isabella never wiggles she'll continue the tour but you can see that the backsplash is complete (ignore the reflection in the mirror)...

It's the same border tile that's in the shower.  The little squares that are lighter colored are actually clear glass with silver at the bottom of the tile.  Hard to tell in photos we know...

Because of the silver glass tiles (and because of cost savings due to expected leaving of job), the fixtures are all chrome...

It's kinda freaky seeing our reflections though!

Of course we have kitty art on the walls...

I think that's everything.  Did I forget anything Angel?

Yeah, the faucet makes the perfect kitty fountain!

That's the grand tour of the new guest litterbox and one good thing about Mommy's job situation is no more noisy strangers are expected any time soon!

Finally Friday!

It's finally the end of the week!  Mommy didn't feel like doing much but we'll get her in gear next week and make beady goodies at least.  She did go on a photo shoot at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn, OR with a friend.  There were tulips as far as the eye could see...

The noisy strangers finished most of the work on Monday so now I can take a bath in the bathtub...

Mommy even got it all cleaned up for me...

Hey Bella, you show them the new cabinet...

Alright little sis!  There was zero storage in the guest litterbox so that problem has been solved with this new cabinet...

There's two pullout drawers and the cabinet guys are bringing another shelf for even more storage.  Pretty clever huh?

The wood looks like different colors in the photos but they're both natural cherry wood so they are the same color...

So, the guest litterbox is complete except for the knobs for the cabinets, backsplash, mirror, pictures and towel rods.  In other words, it's thisclose to being complete but it's come a long way from where it began...

We're hoping for an uneventful day for relaxing since we really haven't been able to do any yet.

Finally Friday!

It's the final Friday of tax season!  Yay!  Everyone in the house is happy about that!  Today is also the end of the 6th week of the guest litterbox remodel.  Nothing has happened in there for the last two weeks because we've been waiting on the countertops which are finally going to be installed this morning.  Everyone in the house is happy about that but me.  I just discovered yesterday how fun it is in there!  I sit in there and make cute sounds until Mommy comes in...

Then I roll around in the dirt and drywall dust while she scritches me...

The countertops will cover my new fun spot up!  Oh well, hopefully the new countertops will be fun too because I know Mommy loves to hear my persistent sounds since she hurries in to give me my scritches while telling me it's a good thing I'm so cute!

What's Going on Around Here...

With less than two weeks to go until the end of tax season and the end of the guest litter box remodel in sight, we've moved back into the real home office from the master bedroom/temporary home office.  Mommy is happy about that but her desk has a pull out keyboard drawer which means I'll miss sitting on her lap...

I'll also miss squeezing through the monitors and often pausing to let her admire my beautiful floofy tail for awhile...

I'll especially miss laying in Daddy's drawers so I'd quit bothering her be happy...

It was fun while it lasted but like tax season, all things must come to an end.  Well, except for the treat supply of course.

Finally Friday!

We're so glad it's Friday!  Today is for the first time in a month the noisy stranger won't be here.  Yay!  It doesn't mean he's done, it just means Mommy told him to stay home today.  He did finish grouting the tile so it's officially done...

But the rest of the room, not even close...

He was going to finish the baseboards yesterday but he has to replace some of them so Mommy said just bring them back on Monday.  We all wanted a break from him being here!  At least the floor is finished so I can play wiggly worm...

Cold, dusty tile is the closest I'll ever get to rolling in the wild!  

We're going to take a break until Monday too because our mommy isn't feeling too well.  She doesn't have a cold like Daddy did so she can't technically blame it on him but she's battling a sore throat, headache and ear ache and it's worse when upright so we'll hold her down this weekend so she gets well soon.

Finally Friday!

Once again we're so happy it's Friday.  As you noticed, we didn't do a post yesterday and that's because after us helping Mommy do tax returns for over 10 hours on Wednesday, she decided to paint the guest litter box for two hours instead of helping us post.  She is not a fan of white walls so the painted walls are the only thing finished after three weeks into this remodel...

We have discovered that contractor speak for 'being ahead of schedule' actually means 'I'll still come every day but not stay as long'.  A little of everything is done but nothing is complete (except for the painted walls).  Don't worry, we're inspecting the progress...

He'll grout the shower Monday and today he'll grout the new tile floors and clean up the mortar mess he made with the shower niche thinga-ma-bob yesterday...

As if that mess doesn't churn the stomach of a stressed out CPA in tax season enough, the tub will do it...

At least the paint job looks good Mommy!

We're doing our part to ease her stress and make her smile by being sweet like this...

Now admit it, that made you go awww too didn't it?  Thought so!

Finally Friday

Yay it's Friday!  Even though we're not being locked in the bedroom/new home office anymore, we're still glad it's Friday especially since the noisy stranger won't be here today!  Wednesday evening Isabella inspected the progress and told him to pick up the pace...

Yesterday she hung out in the original home office/construction storage pit so she could keep an eye on him and make sure he got to work...

I hung out with Mommy playing with my fevver toy under the chair...

By the time he left last night, the floor was in place and so was this sign...

Clearly he knew that non-humans would be in to check out the progress.

So far so good and since the tile has to sit for a few days before the grout can be added, he won't be back until Monday!  Yay!  He even said he's ahead of schedule so double Yay!

Finally Friday!

Normally I don't care what day it is but this week I'm very glad it's Friday because in a few hours the noisy stranger will be gone for two whole days!  I'm doing better then I was with being shut in but I still hate it and do what I can to get out while crying all day which drives Mommy bonkers.  (Believe me, it's a short trip!)  She tries to divert my attention by opening the door...

And the window...

I do sit still for a few minutes at least...

But I make sure to listen to every single thing that goes on on the other side of the door...

Oh, and in case you're wondering, Isabella is really catching up on her beauty sleep this week...

As soon as the noisy stranger leaves and we are sprung from the bedroom/now home office, I run downstairs and after a few minutes I come back up into the room with Mommy and eat and sleep.  I don't mind being in there as long as the door is OPEN!

Hope Friday goes fast and the weekend goes very slow!

Weekend Wrap Up

Hope you had a great weekend!  I filled my weekend with naps since I didn't sit still nap at all on Friday.  I knew something was up when we started the work day in the bedroom/now home office starting at 6am.  At least my crinkly paper is in here and of course Isabella is in her normal, every day spot...

A couple of hours later the door got shut and I was locked in! ALL DAY!  I do not like closed doors and let everyone know it.  When I wasn't doing laps around the room and across Mommy's cardboard table desk, shoulders, laptop and chair, I was trying to open the door...

The noisy stranger was being extra noisy, Mommy had a pounding headache and Isabella was, well, normal...

All I know is it's going to be a really long six weeks!  Friday was so awful that Mommy would've pulled the plug on the whole remodel except it's a little too late...

Today is going to be really noisy too but hopefully it'll quiet down some although I'll still be trapped in this room every day until it's all over.  I don't know how Bella can be so calm!

Weekend Wrap

We hope you had a good weekend!  Our was great because Daddy was home and he doesn't have to go back to the coast this week!  Yay!  Also, the final piece of the human litterbox remodel was done on Saturday when the mirror framing was finished and it was finally hung on the wall.  I just wish they would have told me because I nearly became an accordian when I jumped on the vanity and saw a kitty jumping back at me!  Now that that's done, Mommy has turned her attention to the guest bedroom.  She's going to get new curtains in there and thinks they should be washable and a light color.  I can't imagine why...

Let's just say this is one of those 'it's a good thing I'm cute' moments...
