Finally Friday

We've had a long short week at work. Last weekend, Mommy was in Texas until Monday night so after a fun few days with Daddy, she made us go back to work Tuesday. Lexi doesn't think taxes are quite as fun...

For that matter, we don't either...

It's going to be a really long tax season for all of us.

Finally Friday

We're glad it's Friday but more than that, we're glad it's September 15th. It may sound like a normal day but for us CPA cats it's the tax deadline for business returns so we spent a lot of time in the office this week...

It was grueling let me tell ya. After we finished working yesterday, somemommy got out her newest stash of beads...

Beading relaxes her but since she had zero mojo there wasn't much relaxing happening. Well, except for one of us...

Eventually she came up with these earrings...

Thank Cod they were Tortie approved...

One more tax deadline next month and the 2016 tax season will finally come to an end. We're not even going to think about the 2017 tax season just around the corner. Nope. Not gonna. Uh uh. *sigh*

We plan on doing a whole lot of nothing this weekend, what are your plans?

Life Lately

Four weeks from today will be the first day of non-tax season this year. Four weeks. At this point, this is the way every day looks around here...

We're tired of being in the office all day long. The end is in sight though but our lack of things to talk about and Mommy's lack of picture taking is severely cutting into our post writing. So even though we'll be scarce, we're all okay. We're just tired.

And so another week begins, one of us is ready for work and one of us isn't ready to get out of bed...

Tax Time is Almost Over!

I'm thankful that many things will change after tax season such as helping Mommy work in the office so much. One thing I won't miss is when she tells me I make a better door than a window...

What the heck does that mean? I'm a cat not a door!
Speaking of windows I hear a birdie out that one...

I sure won't miss sitting here all day working instead of watching the Birdie Network!

We survived tax season, of course thanks to my help! It was somewhat enjoyable and fairly stree free despite the seemingly endless tax returns. The actual end this year is Monday the 18th so Mommy is going to Colorado on Saturday to celebrate the end with the others in the office. We'll be celebrating here with Daddy! We probably won't have time for posts next week so we'll be back on Monday, April 25th. Don't forget us! See you then!

Thank Cod for the Weekend...

Because Mommy is a worry wart wanted to keep an eye on me yesterday*, she made me stay in the living room while she had a webinar. I thought, how bad could it be to lay on the comfy couch for two hours and nap. What I didn't know is that I'd have to listen to a man go on and on about tax stuff...

Hey, whatcha you two doing? Oh my Cod, another webinar? Bella, I warned you about those! Uh, I have important business to take care of anywhere but here! See ya!

Yes, she did warn me and no, I didn't listen. I sure wish I had because this is excruciating...

I am a very patient Tortie but I'm reaching my tolerance limit...

Does he ever stop Mommy?

That was the longest two hours! I know more about taxes than any Tortie should. Ever!

*Mommy here: I kept an eye on Isabella yesterday because Wednesday night she had several asthma attacks despite receiving twice the inhaler treatment plus the cortisone shot earlier that evening. The first attack around 9pm was a high pitched squeaky wheezy sound that we've never heard before. I actually thought she was choking on a Greenies treat I had given them not long before that but she was purring and breathing fine in between this sound. Yes, I googled Heimlich maneuver for cats because I really thought she was choking! I stayed up most the night listening for her and checking on her in the dark. Thankfully she's predictable where she sleeps! She had a couple more attacks until about 3am but they were more normal sounding. I made her stay by me yesterday and she had no more attacks so hopefully this was all caused by the stress of the car ride Wednesday. Oh how I wish she didn't have to go through this. It's heart breaking to not understand what is happening and how to help her.

We realize many people believe tax returns end on April 15th but that's not true. There's always something on extension or various due dates or even monthly client bookkeeping so we spend a lot of time working in our home office. This is Mommy's view...

And this is my view...

You can see the leaves turning yellow but that doesn't mean closed windows yet. Oh no. It just means Mommy freezes in the 50 degree mornings while I enjoy my beautiful open window view! 

In case you're wondering about Isabella. She sometimes helps when work doesn't interfere with her 16 hour nap breaks.

Finally a First on Friday!

It's finally Friday and would you believe for the first time ever Mommy has NO photos of us from this week? None, nada, zilch! We've all been up to the tips of our ears with tax returns for the HBO words procrastinators who's business returns are due on the 15th. That means we have absolutely nothing to post today. Oh wait, Mommy did take some photos of some cats - the neighbor cats next door who live inside (yay!) and look out their windows at us. This is Dez...

He's a cutie and Mommy says he's a total lover boy who followed her everywhere. He was hard to get pics of since he always wanted to be held. He'd get on the counters and headbutt her too...

His sisfur Callie was a little skeptical about Mommy at first...

She warmed up to her quickly though and even greeted her at the door. These kitties had never ever been alone before. Their mom is in France and she has a friend's son staying there while she's gone but he went rock climbing for three days so Mommy took care of them. Dez and Callie were super lonely so thankfully the friend's son is back and their mom will be home soon. By the way, we hear their house looks just like ours with kitty toys, beds, trees in every room and they even have a kitty play room full of toys for them! 

Anyway, we have to do more tax returns today but thankfully it's a holiday weekend so we get some sort of break. We have a suspicion that Mommy will be back to taking pictures of us soon. Rats.

We had another busy week preparing tax returns for the Monday deadline so the only task I can handle at this point is holding down this paper...

It's a tough job but somekitty has to do it.
