Thankful Thursday

I want to thank you for the purrs yesterday. They worked because my dental went well. I lost two teefs and some furs on my leg but because of the good meds I got, I don't really care...
Angel, you smell funny...
Yeah, whatever. I'm glad it's over. Mommy is too. She feels sorry for me so opened the window even though it's 50 degrees outside...
She knows I like to watch the birdies and she'll do anything for me...
Mommy here: Angel did really well yesterday. They took good care of her. They made her a bed with a towel over it so she could burrow in it while she was there. The tech raved about her fur and said she's so soft she feels like a rabbit! She can't have hard food (i.e. treats) for two weeks so that's going to be difficult but she has a great appetite and has been purring and head butting nonstop since coming home. We're hoping she still feels good in a day or two as the pain meds wear off. Oh, Isabella only sniffed her that once and then acted completely normal. She's super mellow so nothing bothers her. Anyway, thanks again for the purrs!

Have some treats on my behalf!

Dental Day

I have to go to the vet for a dental today. I'm not too thrilled about it but I know I'll feel better when it's over...
Angel, everything will be okay...
I know I'll be okay. Purrs would be appreciated though.

Thank you!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a great weekend! We had another sunny, open window Fall weekend which is prime for watching birdies...
When I wasn't looking out windows, I was playing with new toys Mommy got from a craft show...
I'm the kind of kitty that likes to have fun so I love all kinds of toys...
One thing I don't love is going to the v-e-t but that's something I had to do recently too. Daddy took me and sent this pic to Mommy...
He hasn't figured out that a ladycat doesn't like to publicize her weight! Anyway, I'm healthy as far as nothing major is wrong with me. I do have a slight heart murmur which is supposedly common in kitties my age and up, I'm 12. This freaks my Mommy out but the test results are good so I'm okay. The vet who examined me felt my thyroid gland so wanted my levels tested. It's 3.5. We have to wait and see if that level warrants any further action since he was out when the results came back so another vet called Daddy. The waiting freaks Mommy out. I'll also need to have a dental and have at least two teeth removed. This freaks Mommy out too. So, other than freaking out Mommy, I choose to see that I'm a healthy kitty with lots of years left to watch birdies, play with toys, cuddle, love and be loved!

How was your weekend?

Hope you have lots to look forward to today!

House Call Vet. Who Knew!

We knew something was up when Mommy was stressed out all day long and then Daddy came home early from work. They're pretty easy to read. Anyway, sure enough a vet came to our house yesterday afternoon for our check ups and senior blood panel work. Daddy took me upstairs until Mommy said everything was ready. I certainly wasn't ready!
I found myself on our own kitchen counter with the vet and her tech! They tried buttering me up by telling me how beautiful my eyes and furs are and how soft I am. I kinda fell for it and didn't try to escape too much. Then I found myself on my side with the vet whispering in my ear while the tech stole my furs and then my bloods from my back leg...
I finally was released and ran downstairs to my safe spot while it was Isabella's turn. Of course she loved the attention...
I heard she squirmed and squeaked more than I did though. She's had more experience with vets than me so she knew what to expect. She's the reason we had a vet come to our house - she gets very car sick. Our old vet moved to a practice in a neighboring town and even though it's 10 miles away, that's 9.95 miles more than Isabella can handle. Anyway, we both checked out to be very healthy although one of us is a little too, uh, not svelte. Hopefully our bloods are healthy too. We'll find that out in a couple of days. *paws crossed*

Hope you have a good day!
Angel

Mommy here: I was worried that having a vet in the house would traumatize the cats, especially Angel. She did very well during the exam and came out from hiding just as soon as the vet was gone. Isabella is always fine although she really didn't like to be held down to have her leg shaved and blood taken. It's probably because she's had that done quite a bit because of all her dental work due to stomatitis.  The house call fee was just $26 which is totally worth it not to have Isabella get car sick. The exam and lab fees were similar to a traditional vet fee so we're glad to have this option. If it's an option in your area, I would recommend it! Much less stress on the cats and on us!

Better Than a Cup of Tea...

A box full of me!
Fits me to a 'T' too!
I know, I know but it made me smile and I need it. Rumor has it a vet is coming to our house today to try to steal our bloods! They have to catch me first!

Has a vet ever came to your house for your check up?

Hope you have a purrfect kind of day!

One Trip Down...

I made it through my trip to the vet yesterday. Barely. It was dark and dreary out which seemed fitting...
I was almost there when I got car sick. Mommy gave me Rescue Remedy several times through the day but I just can't help it. When I go for car rides my whole body shakes and I get all worked up even though I hide my eyes a lot of the time...
I made it though. At the vet I got a cortisone shot in my right thigh and was told it might start hurting but so far it hasn't stopped me from napping on that thigh. I was a lot more subdued on the way home though and didn't even want to get out of my PTU but who could blame me with a greeting committee like I had...
I knew what was coming. It was only a matter of time.
HISSSS
Yep. I knew it. Thankfully she got it out of her system with that one hiss and didn't do it again. She's probably saving up for next week. *sigh*

I started antibiotics last night and am getting my inhaler twice a day so that combined with the cortisone shot should prevent any asthma attacks during my surgery next week. I'll be so glad when this is all over!

Thanks for the purrs and prayers! I appreciate them and so does Mommy and Daddy!

Ugh. Dreading this Day.

I have to go for a consultation with the dental specialist this morning to see what she thinks about my teefs. I really hate going anywhere in the car. I get so upset that I get sick which makes me feel bad and Mommy and Daddy too. So, wonder if they'll see me if I hide out in my Sleepypod instead...
I'm sure they'll find me. Drat.

I'll update what we find out. When I feel better that is.

My update can be found HERE.

Thank you for the purrs!
Isabella

PeeS: We were asked how old I am - I'll be 10 in January. Also, how many teefs do I have right now? Not many! I've always had bad teefs so some have been pulled at other cleanings. Because of my bad teefs, I have never chewed my food. Ever. I just swallow foods whole so Mommy has to make sure I don't get anything too big or rigid. This will help me be able to eat if I do have to have all my teefs pulled at least.

Tortie Tuesday

This is so not how I wanted to spend Tortie Tuesday...
Seriously. Does this look like a happy Tortie to you?
Nope. Not happy at all! Daddy whisked me away to the v-e-t for a check up and yep, I got car sick but he kept his old SUV for situations like this so it didn't quite have the impact that it would've in his new car. Bummer. Anyway, the v-e-t discovered that I have two cavities. If that wasn't bad enough, the v-e-t thinks I might need ALL my teefs pulled out! I've had bad teefs my whole life and I'm down to just a few so she thinks it might be best to have the rest pulled at once to avoid extractions when I'm even older. Easy for her to say! I have to go to a dental specialists to see what she says first. Until then I'm going to be a drama queen mope...
I look so pitiful that even my little sisfur didn't hiss at me. We'll see how long that lasts since it looks like I'm in for some not so fun times for the near future.

Hope your Tortie Tuesday is better than mine!
