Caturday on Sadieday!

Our Mommy and Daddy are still not home but we're enjoying daily scritches, tummy rubs and extra foods from our Grandpa from KS!  Mommy said the internet where they are are is intermittent so we haven't seen many photos but we did see a few.  Of course there were the normal vacation photos like palm trees...

And even a turtle...

But we also found a fuzzy photo of Mommy giving scritches to the B&B kitty...

He comes to visit them every day and we're sure it's because of those scritches that hit the spot...

At least she'll be leaving soon to come home to us!  But until then we'll soak up the scritches from our Grandpa from KS!

Happy 4th of July!

Earlier this week our Canadian friends celebrated Canada Day and today we are celebrating Independence Day here in America! We love celebrations but we HATE the fireworks part of this day.

Mommy got us this lame flag type thingy but it did flip in the air really good when we started tossing it around!

I'm hiding in my box from my little sisfur Angel. She has her fog lights on but she still doesn't see me in here.

Maybe if I turn my fog lights on it'll help her find me!

I hope you are enjoying your Caturday! It's a nice day here today and since I'm so tired from our exciting week, Mommy moved my bed by the open window so I can nap in the fresh air. Life is good!

I'll even share the window with my sisfur Angel but I draw the line at sharing my bed today!

We're Celebrating Gotcha Day!

We adopted Isabella and Angel on November 3, 2006. Isabella was two weeks shy of 10 months old and Angel was just 3 months old. Both of them basically picked us as much as we picked them so I'll share their stories starting with Isabella's today. (All photos in this post were taken on November 3, 2006.) I had lost my 18 year old kitty, Panther, on August 29, 2006, and was unable to even look at the neighbor's cats without breaking down so the thought of getting another kitty was very far from my mind. Although I couldn't go into the humane society at this time, we often donate items to a local thrift shop that benefits our humane society and they have adoptable cats in the front of the store. We donated several times after the loss of Panther but we'd take our donations to the alley entrance in the back of the store and I'd sit in the car crying since I knew there were cats needing homes in the front and I was not ready to face that.

On November 3rd I decided I was ready to go in the front entrance so we walked in and went into the room with the cats in it. I bent down and was looking at a black and white cat named Katie while my hubby went to the cage above me, opened it and Isabella, then known as Miteeka, literally lifted up her front legs and fell into his arms when he went to pick her up. When he went to put her back into her cage, she hung on tightly to him and pretty much made her point that she had made up her mind and we were to take her home. Needless to say, she got her way! In order to complete the adoption for Isabella we had to go to the humane society to fill out the paperwork. While there, I ventured around and...

Happy Caturday!

On a recent Caturday morning, I got up early, threw on a robe, got on my computer and along came Isabella and curled up on my lap which she had never done before.

Fifteen minutes later, she was still quite comfy.

Forty minutes (yes, 40 minutes!) later, my legs were numb but thankfully she started to wake up and left a few minutes later to go lay in the sunlight. She is cute when she shows her fangs though!
