Back In Time...

Our Mommy got tagged twice last week, by Lynn from Lynn's Musing and Mumblings and by Katie from Mishkat. Both say she is to give 7 facts about herself but Katie's adds that she is to include a photo of when she was younger.
*Hey Isabella, did they have cameras way back then?*

Anyway, we'll let Mommy take over and post her picture and facts!

1. Although Katie was brave enough to post current pictures, I'm not that brave so we'll stick to old photos like this one! It's of me and our dog Sally. I'm not even sure how old I am in this picture but I'd guess 3? Pretty cute outfit huh?
2. I've posted this photo before but it's been awhile so I'll post it again. It's of me and my first cat Sugar. You can read more about me finding him by clicking here.
3. Okay, here's a fact. There is a way, somewhere on this blog, to see a more current picture of me. That's all I'm saying!

4. I grew up in Kansas but after seeing a family friend's house leveled by a tornado and then having a tornado take the roof off a building near where I was working during college, I knew I needed to live in a tornado free zone! We moved to Loveland, CO right as soon as I graduated.

5. I never mailed a package on my own until after I got married. My dad was a Postmaster so I sent all my mail and packages to work with him. And now that I have to stand in the lines I realize what a perk that was!

6. I'm not on Facebook and it seems like I'm the only one who's not!

7. I'm shy - really! This could be the reason for #6!

I also want to thank Eileen from Dorset Hill Beads for giving me the Lovely Blog Award!
If you like "mysteries" and can figure out things from clues, you should check out her Theme for Thursday posts! I'm not good at figuring things out but I enjoy reading them and then seeing how far off I was! Thanks again for the award Eileen!

We hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Gotcha Day!

It was 8 years ago when Sadie became a part of our family! She was just about two months old on her Gotcha Day back in 2001.
As I've said before, she was rescued from a puppy mill type operation in January 2001 in Nebraska where my mom was living at the time. Sadie even was in the local news!
Soon after the court hearing allowing the rescued huskies to be adopted, another puppy mill raid filled up the humane society causing all but two of the huskies to be sent to other humane societies and rescue shelters throughout the region. One husky puppy went to a shelter employee and Sadie came to live with us!
Sadie loves to travel, go to the beach, go on hikes and she always guards her food and water bowl from the cats! She doesn't care for cuddling much, doesn't give kisses and hates to have her feet touched. Ever since she was a puppy, she squeals to no end when any woman with long blond hair tries to touch her. Thankfully I do not have blond hair!
We're very thankful to have Sadie in our family!

Another Day with Sadie!

As I was showing you around my backyard the other day, I mentioned that my friend, I.O., lives on the other side of this fence. We don't see each other very often because these boards come between us.
Here is a picture of I.O. posing for my Mommy. All the neighbors are afraid of him cause he's so tall but Mommy and Daddy aren't afraid of him because he's really a softie.
He has a brother named Truman but he isn't as "vocal" about greeting me as I.O. is. My Mommy thinks Truman's a sweetie but of course not as sweet as me!
Well, I hope you liked meeting my neighbors and having a break from so many days of cats!

Several people asked the other day what I am "mixed" with. Mommy says I'm mixed with love but that's because we don't know for sure. I'm more of an Alaskan Husky but beyond I don't know. In case you weren't reading our blog way back when, here's a post where Mommy talked about me becoming a part of our family.
As noted in our previous backyard post, these photos were taken this week so yes, the grass is green year round in the Pacific Northwest and never goes brown and dormant. It makes up for the dreary, rainy days we have pretty often.

Spending time with Sadie!

Okay, there have been way too many days of cats on this blog so today I'm taking over! We're going to spend time in my backyard that is just for me!
Since there are no cats allowed in my yard, I always have to make sure the neighbor cat isn't hiding out in these bushes. She has a bell on her collar so is pretty easy to find.
What Mommy? What are you wanting me to notice?
Oh, yeah I see that your flowers are coming up already! I'll try not to walk all over them this year.
Once again, Mommy stops and takes a picture of the view. Boring!
My friend, I.O., lives on the other side of this fence. I'll get Mommy to take his picture and show you on Saturday! Stay tuned! In case anyone is wondering, these pictures were taken this week so it is true that our grass is green year round in the Pacific Northwest. Makes the winters much more bearable until it comes time to start mowing in February when it's raining all the time!

Silhouette...

Mommy, rather than working, wouldn't you rather see my lovely silhouette?
How about this view?
What do you mean I'm in your way?

Snoopervising is hard work!

Since Mommy works from home and she's really busy this time of year, we have to snoopervise everything she does to make sure she stays on track. We always make sure her chair is warm and comfy for her.
We make sure her computer is putting off adequate heat.
We have to make sure the printer is working properly.
Snoopervising is just plain exhausting!

Fascination

Hey Angel, what is that up there on the wall?
I can't tell but it looks like it might be fun to play with.
How do we get it down?
I don't know. Hey, is it one of those thingys that fly around and we catch in windows?
Yeah, I think it might be one of those thingys.
Yep, it is!

Monkey See Monkey Do

It begins with one.
Joined by another.
Then only one again.
Joined by another.
Then only one again.
Are things a group effort in your house?

Tortie Tuesday!

Today's Tortie lesson is to sit as rounded as you can yet show your tortieness from your front paw poking out from under your body to your nose to your back and ending on the tip of your tail!

And it's very important to always practice your big eyed innocent look - just in case!

Kitty Grass?

Mommy growed us this wheat grass in a pot. First of all, you'd think since Mommy is from Kansas she'd know this doesn't look like wheat.
And secondly, isn't grass something that cows eat?
Isabella, you try it first!

NOTE: Since so many are asking, we loved the grass! We don't eat much at one time so haven't had any problems with it coming back up, as some have pointed out in the comments. Turns out we are more like cows than we thought, we graze on it every now and again!
