It's Tortie Tuesday - my favorite day of the week! I celebrate my Tortieness every day but today I wanted to show you my beautiful Tortie markings...

Do you notice the difference in my markings from one side to the other? It's like two Tortie halves were put together making one whole beautiful me! We're all made up of differences which makes us all beautiful! Only some of us have Tortitude though. Just sayin.

I'm good at lots of things like holding down furniture but I'm not so good at things like scratchers. I have claws and all but I just don't understand how they work. My little sisfur is so good at them that she sounds like she's popping popcorn. Today might be the day I finally figure this thing out...

Finally Friday

Boy are we glad it's Friday!  If you're friends with us on Facebook you know that today is Day 5 of Week 1 of Mommy going to an exercise class on every weekday.  From all her moaning and groaning you'd think she climbs the Empire State Building every day.  See, Mommy is missing the endorphin gene but she has excess of the 'ohmyCodwho'sbrilliantideawasthis' gene.  Anyway, since our week is all messed up we're going to flashback six whole years to a post that made us giggle and hope it makes you giggle too!  Mommy would giggle if her abs didn't hurt so much!

As we said yesterday, Chewy.com has yummy treats but they also have the bestest Tortie-sized boxes...

What's that Mommy?  I can't keep this box? What's up with that?

Apparently somemommy has a problem with a squizillion boxes around the house and says they gotta go. Maybe if I pour on the Tortie charm and cute looks I can keep some of them...

I happen to think the pepper one would be perfect in the kitchen.  Don't you?

Calendar Girl!

It's Tortie Tuesday and I'm also the calendar girl of the day!

I'm thinking my Tortieness should be on a calendar every day of the year!  Wouldn't that be pawesome?  Well, as long as it doesn't cut into my 20 hours of naps a day.  A supermodel has to have priorities ya know.

No Rest for the Tortie

These days Mommy may be working less but I'm working more.  Now after we've helped her work on tax returns there's still time left to work on beady goodies.  Maybe if I ignore her she'll let me off the hook today...

I know I make it look easy but it's really an intense job...

If only I'd known that whapping the beads back into line would get me a time out I would've done it long ago...

What Would You Do?

If you saw me resting my Tortie face on my Tortie toes, what would you do?

I'm laying on my Mommy about 8 inches from her face with my head on her right forearm while she's holding the tablet in her right hand so what'd she do?  She took her cell phone in her left hand and bent her left arm like a pretzel so the phone was on her right side.  She then tried to take a picture but she's right handed so her left hand doesn't work well especially upside down.  Then her fingernail was all that was hitting the button so the picture wouldn't take so she had to pretzel a little more to get her finger on the button.  All of that for a picture of me but as you can tell, I didn't even notice...

I know you're thinking I'm so cute no wonder she wanted the photo.  This is true but what lengths would your humans go through to get a photo of you?

Thoughts on Sadieday

Happy Sadieday!  I was just sitting here admiring the lovely fall colors and realized that fall is mainly Tortie colored...

Clearly Mother Nature loves Torties!

Who can blame her?

Coming up this week is Halloween.  We don't like that day because my little sisfur hates the doorbell.  We don't get dressed up thank Cod but our sisfur Sadie used to.  One of her costumes that was our daddy's favorite was this one.  Can you guess what she is?

She's KC Wolf!  The Kansas City Chiefs mascot!

Sadie used to watch the games with Daddy and when the Chiefs scored a touchdown Daddy would put his hands in the air signaling touchdown and she'd howl!  The Chiefs are currently the only undefeated team in the NFL which means there's been a lot of touchdowns so we know she's howling over the Rainbow Bridge!

We hope you have something to howl about this Sadieday!  Remember to find things to smile about too and spread those smiles around.  You never know who's day you'll brighten with your smile!

Well, it's Talk like a Pirate Day but our translator (aka Mommy) forgot to allow extra time to help us so the only Pirate talk we have for today is to tell someone (aka Mommy) she's about to walk the plank!

I would've been the cutest Tortie Pirate ever too. *sigh*

Ho Hum Hot Kinda Day

We're having a case of the hots here with temperatures near 90 degrees so the windows are closed which mutes the volume of our Birdie Network so I'm having to watch it on video...

It's never too hot for napping in sunpuddles either...

My sisfur Isabella had to go to the v-e-t yesterday because she has a front tooth loose and her gums are red.  The v-e-t said the tooth will fall out on its own like several others have since her last dental visit in February (Mommy didn't know this).  She also said her red gums are from gingivitis and isn't bad enough to warrant a cleaning yet or any meds.  Anyway, since it was so hot out and she got nervous in the car so she wasn't feeling too well last night...

She's feeling better after chillin' for a bit though.  

The v-e-t still can't believe that Isabella is a real Tortie since she is so mellow and easy going.  She said Torties are supposed to be high maintenance with a devilish streak in them but we don't know any Torties like that - do you?

Inspiration Once Again

Last week when we were having the bad storm, Mommy a nervous Nellie so I had the brilliant idea to have her bead something since that always calms her down...

I picked out some colors that could be similar to a certain Tortie...

But they reminded Mommy of something else...

Anyway, she got to work on the project and despite the thunder shaking the walls and the power going off every so often leaving us in the dark she finally came up with this necklace which is in her Etsy shop here...

Angel approved even though she was a tad distracted by the rumbling outside...

It's exhausting keeping Mommy calm but somekitty has to do it...

What would she do without us!

Tortie Tuesday

Everybody has a different point of view and sees things differently.  For instance, in the following photo one might see that my sisfur is blissfully enjoying window whiffs while I am all cozy in the mini cat tree...

However, upon realizing it's Tortie Tuesday, one might also see that my sisfur is blocking the sunpuddle from my Tortie furs while I am all cozy in the mini cat tree. 

No matter who sees what, if each sees something positive then everyone is happy.  As much as I'd prefer not having my sunpuddle blocked, I am cozy in the mini cat tree so am still very much enjoying my Tortie Tuesday.  Even if you find yourself in a situation that is not ideal, be sure to look for the positive and your day will feel much brighter!

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday, the bestest day of the week!  Actually, I think every day is a pretty darn good day!  Don't you agree?

Since I am the deep sleeper thinker in the house, I want to take this opportunity to thank Simba and Audrey for giving us the Blooming Brilliant Blog Award...

Secondly, we're supposed to give the award to a minimum of four blogs but since we think everybuddy is brilliant, if you'd like this award you are more than welcome to take it!

Lastly we're supposed to answer the question "If you had a brilliant idea, what would it be?"  My brilliant idea would be that every city would have a program to offer spay and neutering of cats and dogs for free to every resident.  The cost of the program would be paid for by the reduced costs of the need for animal shelters so it'd shift the costs to preventing homeless animals instead of dealing with them after the fact.  Any program that would reduce homeless kitties and woofies would be brilliant!

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday!  You know, I've been thinking, wouldn't it be wonderful if humans were more like us cats when it comes to taking things in stride and not stress as much?  Even the time change with daylight savings time caused a stir but it didn't bother me at all.  I still got in my 20 hours of sleep no matter what time the clock said...

Mommy always dreads Mondays and tax season but life is too short to live with dread.  She needs to learn to enjoy every moment and seek out the treats that every day offers.  I sure do! 

Think like a Tortie today and notice the joy the day brings!  Then be sure to take a nap!

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday so I decided today would be the purrfect day to return from our short blogcation.  We spent lots of time relaxing over our break but I also was taken to the dreaded v-e-t and they stole my bloods since I have to go have my teefs cleaned and have a cyst removed from my neck.  Anyway, Daddy took me in but I wasn't able to see my regular vet and the one I did see was flat out rude!  Per the scale there I have actually lost 1 lb which is more than we thought so Daddy was very happy but the vet wasn't impressed and said I should have lost more!  She said I was too fat! Then she said my legs were so fat she had a hard time stealing my bloods.  Daddy was taken aback and I was very surprised at her rudeness but obviously she was jealous of my Tortieness...

I am extremely mellow and nothing gets me riled up but I didn't like her at all and wanted Daddy to say something to her but he wouldn't.  He was afraid if he said what he was thinking she'd do something mean to me and he didn't want anything to happen to me.  He did say that I am never, ever going back to that vet unless it's an extreme emergency and nobody else is available.  Anyway, my regular vet called with the test results and my blood work was all good although my thyroid is a little low so we have to watch that.  I'd rather just watch birdies...

Have you ever dealt with a rude vet?  What do your beans do?  Mommy wanted to call her and tell her where to go (she wouldn't tell me where though) but she also worried about retaliation so what's a kitty to do? *sigh*

It's Tortie Tuesday!  Today I'm reflecting on a recent visit to the v-e-t where I was told I'm healthy but that I may be a little bit too much Tortie.  Can you believe that?  How can there ever be too much of me?

I was told I need to be more "active".  Yeah, whatever.  I'm mellow - that's just the way I am!  Oh well.  All this talk of being active has made me sleepy...

I think the v-e-t was just jealous of my beautyness.  Whatever the case may be, it is important to be healthy and to be happy with your shape even if that shape is round!
