Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a good weekend! We spent ours holding Mommy down because she's sick...

She came down with a cold on Thursday and Daddy thinks it morphed into a Man-cold because she's so whiny. Whatever that means. Anyway, it's been our job to make sure she rests and stays quiet. It seems to be working because she's a little better today which means she can breathe through one side of her nose at least. Since we're on duty she'll be good as new soon!

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday and I get my spot back on the bed because Mommy finally went back to work yesterday...

My new spot has the perfect view of the Birdie Network too...

It won't be long and I'll be watching through closed eyes though. It was a tough job being a nurse for my little sisfur then Daddy followed by Mommy but somekitty had to do it. I'm sure they all appreciate it though.

It's Tough Being a Nurse Cat

Last week Mommy had a migraine so spent nearly two days in bed. She was laying on her side hugging a body pillow so rather than perform my purr therapy from the foot of the bed like Isabella was, I laid half on the pillow and half on Mommy's side...

I multi-tasked by taking a bath as I was nursing her...

A nice, long, no square inch missed bath...

And let me tell you, you would've thought she was dying because of all the complaining she was doing.

I thought with migraines the point is to lay still and be quiet but her moans and groans disrupted my bath. She did say it's a good thing I'm cute but it's a good thing she's comfy or else this nurse would've taken a bath elsewhere! Just saying!

Take Two Cats and Call Me in the Morning

Yesterday morning Mommy had a horrible headache causing her to log off work an hour early to lay down and relax. Trouble is she said she couldn't relax because she felt like she was being watched. I have no idea what she meant...

Isabella had her eyes closed while holding Mommy down so I didn't see anykitty looking at her. That headache clearly made her hallucinate! Anyway, she felt better after a while. No doubt thanks to our help. What would she do without us?

Finally Friday the 13th

Okay, we're not superstitious about 'Friday the 13th' but we do know this has been one long week. Something has happened every day that's made Mommy cranky, discombobulated or frustrated. One thing has discombobulated me - Daddy has a cold. He spent all day yesterday in bed - in MY spot on the bed no less. I am Daddy's Girl but still, he was in my spot!

Of course he was working so his computer and phone would ding, ping or ring and he was sniffling, sneezing and coughing. How's a Tortie supposed to sleep through all that? Today he's still sick, still here but he's working upright downstairs so I have the bed all to myself. Just as it should be. Finally.

Weekend Wrap Up

The sun and warmer temperatures returned this weekend allowing for open windows. It's the perfect spot to watch the falling leaves...

When I wasn't watching leaves fall, I was holding Mommy down because she's got a cold. She's pretty whiny and cranky but Isabella and I are doing our best to help her feel better. It's a tough job but somekitties got to do it!

Tortie Tuesday

Since I'm a purrfessional relaxer, it's been my job to make sure Mommy relaxes in order to feel better. Sure, my little sisfur watches over her too but now that Mommy is at the incredibly annoying coughing stage, I had to take over. I'm the only one who can handle the noise and bed shaking that goes on when she has a coughing fit...

Sheesh. You'd think I'd be appreciated a little bit more. Nursing a loud, whiny Mommy is a tough job but someTortie's got to do it!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a good weekend! Our's was a big bust because Mommy came down with the flu. Yep, the flu. In June. Who does that? Other than a 2.5 hour trip to Urgent care yesterday, she was in bed all day, every day. We are good nurses and kept our eyes on her...

We're going to hold her down today too so she gets better soon. It's a tough job being nurses but somekitties got to do it!

By the way, did you notice that our blog is looking new and spiffy? We owe it all to Oz the Terrier's mom Gina! She's changed our blog into one that Mommy can more easily work on since the other one was custom and required html changes which was totally impossible for Mommy.  Mommy still needs to tweak a couple of things when she's feeling better but we're extremely grateful for Oz's mom for everything she's done to update our look! Thank you Gina! We love it!

A kitty's work is never done especially when Mommy isn't feeling well.  It's up to us to make sure she gets some rest...

Kitty Nurses

Mommy started feeling icky last night so decided we're not working on tax returns today and she missed her first exercise class in 3.5 weeks.  Instead, we're on duty to nurse her back to health!  I'm tap, tap, tapping on her forehead every half hour to make sure she doesn't have a fever.  In between this health check, I'm keeping a close eye on her...

PeeS:  Last night, Isabella had her first big asthma attack since last Friday night after starting the inhaler.  Mommy was pretty out of it due to her cold meds but it was bad enough to wake her up.  We're hoping they don't start up again since she has had a few smaller attacks too. She is much more alert and is even awake more often than she has been so we can tell she's feeling better.

We hope you had a great weekend!  We had a busy weekend playing nurse and holding Mommy down...

It's a tough job but somekitties have to do it!  

If you're friends with us on Facebook you might have seen that Mommy did go to the doctor for her sore throat and she tested negative for strep but was given pain meds that gave her a severe reaction at 4am Sunday morning.  After we went on duty and kept her down all afternoon she's doing a lot better.  Knowing April 15th is two weeks away helps too!  These two weeks will be busy so bear us if we don't get a chance to post or comment.  Life will be back to normal soon!

Status Report

As you know, our Mommy has been sick and let me tell you, she's a horrible patient! On Tuesday she thought she was well enough to leave the house for a bit. The dose of fresh air, blue sky and pretty nature colors messed with her head so she thought she was well enough to go to the gym (not smart) and then to Zumba (really not smart). Well, she nearly passed out at Zumba and almost got sick in the parking lot.  Her friend and our Daddy got her home again but not before any progress was setback. We did let her go out on the deck yesterday for a dose of fresh air, blue sky and pretty nature colors and her Kleenex box...

But I kept a close eye on her...

When I thought she had enough I told her to come inside...

NOW!

I even woke Isabella up with that demand!

Mommy finally came back inside and went to bed again. The weekend is going to be nice and she's wanting to go on a photoshoot of the fall colors since the leaves won't wait until she's 100% better so she needs to be a purrfect patient today and tomorrow or else that won't happen. Depending on how it goes, we may or may not be able to post for awhile. Thanks for being patient while we deal with our patient!
