Thankful Thursday
We're still adjusting our routine after tax season. It takes a lot of practice to get our new normal just right...
We do have something to be thankful for. Isabella was re-tested for her hyperthyroidism after being on meds for 50 days and her results were fabulous! She went from 3.4 (4 is the upper limit) to 1.2! I won't be tested for several months since I'm no longer on meds for my hyperthyroidism because I'm allergic to them. I am finally no longer itchy all the time and for that I'm thankful. We're both thankful there is no room in this chair for Lexi...
The biggest thing we're thankful for is that we just endured our last tax season! Yep, we're officially retired as CPA Cats! After 20 tax seasons, Mommy's body just can't handle sitting for so many hours for so many days. She's also worked really hard to become healthy and lose quite a bit of weight the past 1.5 years so sitting for 25% of the year is counterproductive to that. It was just time for her to retire. Plus she's been saying to the Universe for the past five years that she wanted to retire at 50 so that's what she did! We're all happy and looking forward to not being stuck in the office next year and for whatever the future may bring!
What are you thankful for today?
Hope you have a great day!

April 15th Finally!
Boy are we glad today is finally here! We made it to tax day and only have one more return to do - Mommy and Daddy's tax return! They're going to owe this year so she doesn't want to do it. It's a good thing we're on the job though! Anyway, since the last time we posted, we've had quite a bit happen. First of all, let me update you on what's been going on with me...
Turns out I'm allergic to the pills for hyperthyroidism too. My head was all itchy but not as bad as it was on the transdermal stuff. I scratched myself so bad that I had open sores for about a week but it's healed up and just a few little scabs remain. The vet says that I'm not a candidate for the radioactive iodine therapy because although my kidney levels are normal, they're on the high end of normal and something about iodine therapy would mean that if I developed kidney issues in the future, it wouldn't be treatable. So, I'm not on any treatment right now and I'll be tested every 6 months to check my levels and weigh options if anything changes. This news stressed Mommy out but she knows I can't tolerate the medication and she doesn't want to do anything to risk kidney issues in the future.
Isabella is doing fine on the meds, is hungry all the time (like normal) and sleeps a lot (like normal) so she's, well, normal...

Lexi is doing fine too. She's still crazypants but there are finally more moments of calmness than there used to be. Now that she's 11 months old, she sleeps a lot more which is a good thing...
Anyway, that's a bit of what's been going on here. We'll be back to regular visits now that we're not buried in tax returns. Thank you for being patient with us! We can't wait to catch up again!
We hope you have a great Tax Day!

Almost Done!
Phew! We've been MIA for quite awhile! This tax season has been been one of the worst we've ever worked through because of new tax laws coupled with new software. Oh, and a puppy...
Lexi tolerates taxes when she's sleeping but when she's awake, she has ants in her pants! She's still leashed to the desk most days because she's stealthy and leaves the room when we're sleeping working and gets into things she's not supposed to like our foods. Mommy isn't too keen on her looking out the sliding glass door in the bedroom and barking at the neighbor either. The neighbor doesn't hear her but we all have to be peeled from the ceiling. Anyway, she gets better every day but we're all glad when Daddy comes home and puppy sits so we can get the warm spot work done...
One last update on us. We're both on the same meds for hyperthyroidism but Angel was on the transdermal kind. Well, she had a really bad reaction that caused her to scratch her head so bad it was bright pink and covered with open sores. The vet said to stop the meds for a week to see if she gets better and then give it to her again to see if it's really the meds causing it. Since nothing else had changed, there's no way Mommy is going to experiment on her and possibly cause it to happen again so Angel will be getting the same pills as me. We get them in pill pockets because it's easy for me to swallow half of a pill pocket since I have no teeth. Angel turns into the Tasmanian devil when given a pill but she doesn't know it's in a pill pocket. Hopefully this continues to work for my little sisfur. Anyway, that's a quick update on us. Only two more weeks for the end of tax season so please be patient with us!
Hope all is going well with you!

One Month to Go
We know we've been quiet and not visiting much so we wanted to let everyone know that all is well here. We actually enjoyed a weekend away from tax returns with open windows and sunpuddles...
Mommy thinks I'm so cute with the sun lighting up my ears and I have to admit, she's right. Anyway, the countdown is on for tax season to end so we can resume our normal schedule of napping and playing instead of working. We're sorry to be scarce but the end is in sight.
We hope all is well with you!
Enjoy your day!

This Is Us This Week
We've been kind of quiet around here since 'tis the season of taxes. Don't worry, we take time off to watch snowflakes...
We've also been quiet since we've all had to go to the vet for our check ups. I had a follow up blood test after the one I got for my dental last fall showed I was close to having hypothyroidism. Well, now I do have it. Since I turn into the Tasmanian devil when given a pill, I have to have stuffs put on my ear every day forever. Because this isn't as easy to regulate as a pill, I'll be tested more often to see how I'm doing.
Isabella's exam showed that she's dropped in weight from 14.75 lbs to the same size as me - 11.2 lbs. Turns out she's hyperthyroid too! None of us would've thunk it! She'll get pills every day forever since she has no teeth but she'll swallow it in half a pill pocket. A whole pill pocket is too big to swallow. Other than us both being hyperthyroid and Isabella having asthma, our tests showed we're healthy and doing well as senior kitties!
As for Lexi, her exam was fine. She's 57 lbs and just plain hyper. She'll be spayed soon but the vet suggested she go through a heat cycle first. Oh joy. He said that waiting decreases hip and joint problems, however, it also increases her chance of cancer from 1% to 5%. Since the hip issues are more likely, she'll probably have to wait. Whenever it's done we're all hoping it calms her down. She's been in obedience school for five weeks and will officially flunk out at her final class next week. That is if Daddy takes her. It's not that she's a dumb dog like Bella and I think she is, because actually she's super smart. It's because she's too friendly and wants to play with the other dogs and their peeps. She listens to Daddy as long as he has treats but she knows when he runs out so does the doggy version of "lalalalala, I can't hear you!" Let's just say, she better be glad there's a room full of witnesses! Anyway, she's a pawful in public and we're hoping she grows out of it. Soon.
That's the update on what's going on around here. What's new with you?
Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Thursday Treat #ChewyInfluencer
Today is a day filled with treats. First, we've had a couple of days off of taxes because Mommy has been in Portland with friends. Secondly, I get to review some Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredients Diets Chewy Bits Duck Formula Grain Free Dog Treats for the nice folks at Chewy.com. And finally, you get to see my cute face...
These soft, chewy treats have real duck as the #1 ingredient and two primary sources of carbohydrates so they're good for dogs on a limited ingredient diet. They are 100% free of fillers, grains, potatoes and chicken for dogs with food sensitivities and contain no artificial colors or flavors. Natural Balance L.I.D. Duck Formula Dog Treats are perfect for dogs from puppies to adults. After all that, all I know is that not only do they smell good, they look good too...
The verdict is, they're very tasty so I give them four paws up! Mommy puts them inside some treat-holding toys to keep me busy so I can enjoy them longer. I've asked her to order more from Chewy.com in the future! If you're in need of treats, food, toys, anything pet related, be sure to check out Chewy.com. You won't be disappointed!
Disclaimer: Chewy.com sent me a bag of Natural Balance L.I.D. Duck Formula Dog Treats free in exchange for my honest review. This did not influence my opinion at all because when I don't like something, I won't eat it no matter what. It's my puppy prerogative.
What's your favorite treat?
Hope you enjoyed seeing me!

Two for Tuesday #ChewyInfluencer
It's time for our monthly review for the fabulous folks at Chewy.com. We were asked our opinion of Weruva Cats in the Kitchen Goldie Lox and the 3 Fares Variety Pack Grain Free Canned Cat Food. That name is a mouthful! Let's see how it tastes...
Okay, back to business. Weruva Cats in the Kitchen Grain Free Canned Cat Food is like people food for pets because it's made with the best ingredients that are high in protein and low in carbs. There's no grains, gluten, GMO ingredients, potatoes, MSG or carrageenan. It's real, deboned meat in yummy gravy...
Mommy was concerned about Isabella being able to eat it because she has no teeth but the meat is small and soft enough that she can enjoy it too...
So, our review is mixed. Out of the four varieties, our favorite is Goldie Lox Chicken & Salmon Au Jus, We also like Funk in the Trunk Chicken in Pumpkin Consomme and Chicken Frick 'A Zee Chicken Recipe Au Jus. Neither one of us like Double Dip Chicken & Beef Recipe Au Jus. It's just, uh, icky. Three out of four ain't bad I guess!
Much thanks to Chewy.com for letting us review this food! It's something we probably wouldn't have tried but now will certainly buy in the future. Chewy.com has many choices so if you haven't checked them out yet, be sure to do so! They have incredible customer service and quick delivery that's free for orders over $49!
Disclaimer: Chewy.com sent us a case of Weruva Cats in the Kitchen Goldie Lox and the 3 Fares Variety Pack for free in exchange for our honest review. As you can tell this didn't influence our opinion since we didn't like one of the flavors and we're not gonna lie about it either.
Have you tried anything new from Chewy.com lately?
We hope you enjoy something tasty today!

Weekend Wrap Up
Winter weekends here are dreary and wet but that doesn't stop me from wanting window whiffs...
I'm still not happy that Lexi is here but I don't let her stop me from coming downstairs anymore. After all, this was my house first! To show her who's boss, I even help myself to her water...
It's funny to watch her try to figure out why my smells are on her bowls! MOL! Anyway, I also helped Mommy work on tax returns so to cap off the winter weekend, I cuddled with the resident cuddling professional...
Today it's back to work since taxes are never ending. It's a tough job being a CPA Cat but somekitty's got to do it.
How was your weekend?
Happy last week of February!

Two for One Review #ChewyInfluencer
Lexi isn't the only one who works around here. We were also asked by the nice folks at Chewy.com to review one of their products - Purina Pro Plan Focus Adult Weight Management Ground Turkey and Rice Entree Canned Cat Food. Hey, wait a minute! Weight Management? Clearly this isn't for me!
Angel, you're floofy and it's not all fur, chica! Anyway, this food is high protein and low calorie to keep me at an, ahem, ideal body weight while protecting my lean muscle. It's made in the USA with real ground turkey with the recommended levels of taurine to protect against heart disease. It also has Omega 6 fatty acids to keep my skin healthy and my Tortie fur beautiful and shiny. I must say it's pretty darn tasty too...
As you can tell, we both like Purina Pro Plan Focus Adult Weight Management Ground Turkey and Rice Entree Canned Cat Food and we give it four paws up! We also give four paws up for Chewy.com for having such a great selection of foods, treats, scratchers, pretty much anything we need!
Disclaimer: Chewy.com sent us a case of Purina Pro Plan Focus Adult Weight Management Ground Turkey and Rice Entree Canned Cat Food in exchange for our honest review. This did not influence our opinion at all because if we don't like something, we would never pretend we did. Cats don't lie about food. Just sayin.
What's your favorite thing to buy from Chewy.com?
Enjoy your day!

Working Wednesday #ChewyInfluencer
When the nice folks at Chewy.com asked me if I'd like to do a review on some treats, I jumped at the chance! I'm only 8 months old so there are a lot of treats that are new to me so it's fun to try out new ones such as Canidae Grain-Free PURE Heaven Biscuits with Bison and Butternut Squash Crunchy Dog Treats...
I may be a puppy but I take treats seriously since I get them when I do something good so they better be worth it. Let's give these a try...
Uh, I think I need to try a little more...
The verdict? The Canidae Grain-Free PURE Heaven Biscuits with Bison and Butternut Squash Crunchy Dog Treats are yummy! They're made here in the USA and the bison flavor is tasty. I also like that they're crunchy to help keep my teeth clean. They are a good size for puppy rewards and snacks too...
I do wish there were more than 30 in a bag though but we order from Chewy.com enough that our supplies are replenished often. If you haven't checked out Chewy.com, you should! They deliver food, treats, toys, everything quickly and right to our front door...
Anyway, I liked these treats very much and I'm glad I got to try them out! Thanks, Chewy.com!
