It is with very heavy hearts that we let you know that we lost our sisfur, Angel today. We found out last Wednesday that she had cancer. She spent her last days as she did her whole life surrounded by love and her every wish catered to. If love could've cured her, she would've lived forever. Our hearts are broken but we know that she is with Sadie now.

Happy Valentines Day! Today is our mommy's favorite holiday since she loves love and anything with hearts on it. Since it's Lexi's first Valentines Day, she got Mommy a present. It's a pottery pooch...

She's the only one who got Mommy a present because puppy dog eyes only go so far...

Anyway, Mommy loves it and Isabella loves the tishoo it came wrapped in...

August 8th

Today is our mommy and daddy's 29th anniversary! Yesterday we were left alone all day while they went to Mommy's happy place - the coast...

It was foggy and 59 degrees over there (90 here at home) but they had fun and even spotted some whales...

It's obvious from their wedding date that Mommy's lucky number is 8 and being a romantic she loves hearts so we're not surprised she found a heart shaped rock on the beach...

Even though Isabella was less than impressed, Mommy hopes to make it into some jewelry...

I have a better idea for it. Let's just say that little sucker moves really fast when batted across a smooth surface...

We're not sure what they're doing today but we think a celebration should include frosting or at least whipped cream. Seriously.

Spreading Love on Sadieday

Happy Sadieday everybuddy!  Since yesterday was my birthday, I get to do today's post too so I was contemplating what Sadieday means to me and decided that it is a day to reflect on how we should all learn to get along and understand others even if they are different than us.  Although Sadie was our woofie sisfur, I loved her as much as my kitty sisfur Angel...

Even if she didn't admit it, I'm pretty sure Sadie liked hanging out with me too...

Most of the time...

Sadie may have wrinkled up her snooter at me but she never, ever snapped at either one of us.  We just confused her because the kitties before us always ran and since we didn't, she didn't know what to make of us. Anyway, in the spirit of Sadieday, I hope everyone is open to those who are different from us because it just opens the world up to finding those we love...

It's Sadieday!

I'm happy it's Sadieday but really sad about all the people and animals affected by the Tsunami yesterday in Japan. We live an hour from the coast here in Oregon so I have been reflecting about the times I've gone to the beach and looked out at the ocean...

I never imagined that something that looks so beautiful could be so horribly destructive...

But no matter where we are, things can change in an instant so it's important to cherish every moment and live life to the fullest and with lots of love...

That's what I plan to do!

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday and I'd thought I'd take a break from snoopervising present wrapping to remind you of an important gift that can't be put in a box and wrapped. No matter how much we enjoy toys and treats, the most important gift for Christmas and always is love.

It doesn't cost anything to show love and kindness to others and it sure makes the world a much better place. Now, let's get these packages wrapped up so we can go cuddle Mommy!

Happy Gotcha Day To Us!

Today is a special Tortie Tuesday in that it's my sisfur and my 3rd Gotcha Day! On November 3, 2006, we found our furever home with Mommy, Daddy and Sadie! You can read our stories by clicking on our pictures in the left side bar but here's what we looked like on that day.

And as you can tell, this is when my little sisfur Angel started using me as a pillow! She does the same thing today although she weighed only 1.6 lbs then!

We are furry grateful to be in our furever home and now have a lot of blog furriends around the world!

What do you love about pets?

Yeah, I know, what's not to love about pets? The list of things that I love about cats and dogs is pretty long and would look something like this:

• I love to hear a cat purr.

• I love the way all of our pets greet us when we come home - Sadie has a cute way of greeting us by tilting her head to the right and lifting up her lip on her left side in kind of an Elvis Presley way. The cats are always waiting by the door when we walk in from the garage with Isabella sprawled out across the hallway so we have to stop to pet her before walking by.
• I love watching them sleep so peacefully and when they are dreaming I wonder what they are chasing or what Sadie is barking at.
• I love when the cats snuggle with me or lay on my lap while I'm working.

These are just a few of the many, many things that I love about pets. What do you love about your pets?

Everyone needs some lovin'!

I once heard that everyone needs someone in their life to love whether it's family, friends or pets. Having some other living creature to care for makes all the difference. Many people have big families, lots of friends and several pets while others have small families, few friends and one or two pets. Even if someone has just one important person, or pet, in their life, happiness abounds. The quantity does not matter, it's the quality of those relationships that is meaningful.

As our cats, Angel and Isabella, are demonstrating, we may not get along all the time but we can still show compassion for each other (hopefully it's not while being squished in a cat bed by your little sister!) Don't forget to seek out and nurture relationships with the people, or pets, that you love and make you happy. Keep in contact with family and friends, volunteer in your community or adopt a pet from an animal shelter. Spread the love and reap the rewards!!
