Thankful Thursday

As of today I've been in my new home for one month. I'm winning over my kitty sisfurs slowy. Isabella lets me sniff her while she makes a funny sound. She tries to hug me but never quite gets her paws past my snooter. Her hugs are kinda weird because it's more like boxing but I make sure to give her plenty of chances to get it right. As for Angel, let's just say she walks away instead of runs now. She's tougher to win over. It didn't help me score points with the kitties when I got a special delivery just for me...
I got a surprise BarkBox from my beagle friend, Winnie...
It meant a lot to get something just for me in this house full of kitty stuffs...
I didn't even let the kitties have all the fun with the box!
The theme for the BarkBox is Pharoahs so I got a cool Egyptian squirrel...
And King Tut...
I also got some yummy treats that I've enjoyed stuffed in my Kongs, thrown in my kennel and as treats when I train my peeps. Out of everything in the box, my favorite is the squirrel especially because it squeaks really loud...
Much thanks to Winnie for the pawesome gift! I really do appreciate it! Also I want to thank everyone who visits this blog and has welcomed me to my new home. It really means a lot to me and I look forward to contributing here - as long as the kitties agree of course. Apparently they rule the roost.

I hope you have plenty to be thankful for today!

Crafty Day

We don't normally decorate for the seasons because what comes out must go back and Mommy finds it much easier if it doesn't come out in the first place. This year though her friend, Laura, suggested a crafty day to make fun decorations. Okay, crafty and fun aren't usually in the same sentence for Mommy but she agreed. Last week they made scarecrows. Other than Laura's help with the bow, Mommy made it all by herself...
This week we knew what was going on when the crafty supplies came out so Isabella and I anxiously waited for Laura to show up...
They made a snowman on the backside of the scarecrow and I even helped Laura put the scarf on her snowman...
She was very appreciative and gave me scritches...
Hey wait a minute, chica! You can scritch me but I draw the line at kisses!
Anyway, Laura's snowman turned out super cute. Mommy's turned out to be cute too...
Full disclosure here, Laura helped with Mommy's scarf because she is clueless when it comes to working with ribbon or fabric. We also discovered that when she hot glues her thumb, HBO words are said with a leg kick for emphasis. Just sayin. Anyway, our Grandpa from Kansas will be here next week and he's in charge of hanging it up outside so all of the neighbors can see her creations.

Do you decorate for the seasons?

Have a great day in your neck of the woods!

Tortie Tuesday

Although all kitties are works of art, last Tuesday our mommy went to the Portland Art Museum to see an art piece of kitties. It's Carl Kahler's painting called "My Wife's Lovers."  Mommy heard about this painting last fall so when she found out it was going to be on exhibit in Portland she had to go see it! Her friend took this picture of Mommy as she was taking pictures of the painting...
Here's one of those pictures...
It's a huge (6 x 8.5 feet) painting with 42 kitties and of course she picked one out that she thought looked like Angel. Can you tell which one it is?
There was only one Tortie...
Notice the Tortie doesn't look at the camera? Well, I'm taking a cue from that today...
I'm not being uncooperative. I'm being artistic!

We're not sure where the painting will be on display once it leaves Portland this Sunday. If it's in your area at any time, we highly recommend you go see it!

Have you heard of this painting before? Do you know of any other famous works of kitty art?

Enjoy your Tortie Tuesday!

Weekend Wrap Up

Our mommy got home yesterday after her long weekend getaway with friends. She said it was lots of fun and also relaxing with beautiful sunsets...
And lovely views...
Looks kinda ho hum to us. I think our weekend with Daddy was way better than her's. We had a blast!
Hahahaha! The birdie crossed the road for the halibut! Hahahaha! That's funny Daddy!
In addition to lots of laughter we also had niptinis and extra treats - for the halibut! Get it? For the halibut! Hahahaha! I crack myself up!

Did you do anything fun this weekend?

We hope you have a great start to your week!

Thankful Thursday

Christmas came early in our house when the man in blue pants brought a surprise package just for us!
The package smelled like a handsome Mancat and nip!  That's an irresistible combination...
We checked every inch for the Mancat but didn't find him...
But we did find the nip which made us crazy pants...
VERY crazy pants...
We also got pawesome crinkly paper...
There were other pressies but we were so wild over the nip toys, crinkly paper and pom pom balls that Mommy put the rest of the package away until Christmas Eve so we didn't over do it. She's a party pooper. Anyway, we'd like to thank JB, Gaia, Chester, CocoBean, Charli and the handsome Armani for the pressies!
We absolutely love everything!  We can't thank you enough for making our Christmas extra special!

What are you thankful for today?

We hope you have a crazy pants sort of day!

Thankful Thursday

The man in blue shorts brought us a package the other day from Sarah at Magnolia Surprise.  Of course the package had to be inspected...
Inside was a present for our mommy (it had to be inspected it too)...
When it came time to open up the present, the purrfessional present opener upper was called in...
She pulled that string off in no time...
And this is what was inside - Sarah crocheted a little Sadie!  Isn't she adorable?
She even made the little Sadie have a cutie patootie like our sisfur Sadie had...
Thank you so much Sarah!  We love the little Sadie and it's truly a very special gift!  It made Mommy's eyes leaky of course but she put it on a shelf so she can see it all the time.  Thank you for the string too!
We are so touched by the kindness we've received after our sisfur Sadie went to the Rainbow Bridge.  We want to say thank you to everyone who has had us in their thoughts.  A special thanks again to Sarah for the little Sadie and also to Edi for this wonderful gift we discussed before!  Be sure to stop by their shops and we know you'll find something for you or a friend that'll make them smile!

Hope you enjoy your day!

Strolling with Friends on Sadieday

Even though today is technically Caturday, it'll always be Sadieday in our house and since we're pretty sure our sisfur Sadie is strolling around the Rainbow Bridge today, we thought we'd go strolling with some of her friends. Today we're strolling with Khyra the beawootiful Siberian Husky from Pawsylvania...
We all know that Sadie had a cutie patootie and Khyra is known as Miss Fluffy Tail because of her patootie...
She also likes to go off-roading too...
Of course the best adventures involve a field trip so Khyra goes in her Xterra...
We'll always remember how happy our sisfur Sadie was in her SUV (Sadie Utility Vehicle) too...
We miss our sisfur Sadie very much and Mommy still gets leaky eyes so we hope you enjoy Sadieday strolls with her friends because we still want to include her on our blog.  And we certainly know she'd want you to enjoy a stroll in your neck of the woods today!

Have a Happy Sadieday and a great weekend!

Everyone Needs Some Lovin'

This is an archive of a previous post I did earlier this year. I was just beginning to build up my blog at that time so I'm sure this is new to a lot of readers today. I like the topic so thought it would be nice to revisit it.

I once heard that everyone needs someone in their life to love whether it's family, friends or pets. Having some other living creature to care for makes all the difference. Many people have big families, lots of friends and several pets while others have small families, few friends and one or two pets. Even if someone has just one important person, or pet, in their life, happiness abounds. The quantity does not matter, it's the quality of those relationships that is meaningful.

As our cats, Angel and Isabella, are demonstrating, we may not get along all the time but we can still show compassion for each other (hopefully it's not while being squished in a cat bed by your little sister!) Don't forget to seek out and nurture relationships with the people, or pets, that you love and make you happy. Keep in contact with family and friends, volunteer in your community or adopt a pet from an animal shelter. Spread the love and reap the rewards!!
