Cinco De Mayo!

Today is Cinco de Mayo and that means my mousie turns into a chili pepper!

And it's filled with nip!

It even has a really long stem so it can't escape...

Te amo my chili pepper mousie...

I think mousies should be chili peppers every dayo of Mayo.  Get it?  Dayo, Mayo.  MOL!  I crack myself up!

Finally Friday!

This was quite a week!  We enjoyed having our Grandpa from Kansas visiting us!  He gives us treats and scritches!  Mommy and Daddy also enjoyed visiting our Grandma and Aunt Dolly from Vegas...

That's the best photo Mommy got of her because she doesn't sit still long enough!  This was her during a short pit stop on the woofie race track around and around the yard...  

When she did sit still for longer than 1.3 seconds, it was on our Daddy...

We're pretty sure that if we ever do get a new woofie, it will not be one that weighs less than we do and doesn't have an off switch!  It's going to be very hard for any woofie to fit into our lives like our sisfur Sadie did...

Anyway, we're glad Mommy and Daddy are home although we miss our Grandpa from Kansas.  We're going to be relaxing today, what are your plans?

What Happens In Vegas...

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas thankfully or else Mommy would be bringing home a lot of kitties!  She and Daddy have been in Vegas the past few days visiting our Grandma but all three of them also visited the kitties of the Katnip Lounge and their mommy and daddy too!  They saw streaks of Scouty and CC and met all the others except The Baby.  KonaKitty hung out on the catio walkway.  She's super soft and gorgeous...

Mommy said that May Ling is beautiful in photos but in purrson she's even more so if that's possible.  She didn't get a very good picture of her because she petted her so much she forgot about photos...

Sweet Pea is beautiful too but Mommy didn't pet her.  Daddy did though!

Daddy was scritching Miss Salem too...

Now you see why we're glad that what happens in Vegas stays there?  Those Lounge kitties are hard to resist!  Their mommy and daddy are incredible too so Mommy, Daddy and Grandma enjoyed their visit very much!  

Mommy and Daddy are coming home today so depending on how long we make them cater to us, we may have to take tomorrow off.  We'll be back soon though!

2,000 Posts and a Commenthon on Tortie Tuesday!

It's Tortie Tuesday and it's also our 2,000th post!  That's certainly cause for celebration!  We've come a long way from when Mommy started this blog back on January 5, 2008 to talk about her BeadTail shop.  Yeah, that snoozefest got zero to two comments so she didn't do much with the blog until April when she she posted this story and photo about my little sisfur Angel and got a whooping 5 comments...

She continued to post about her shop and even some travel related posts about our area but she eventually figured out we were much better at doing posts than she is so we took over along with our angel sisfur Sadie.  Sadie even helped by modeling her jewelry like this purple necklace...

Of course I'm the supermodel of the family so I modeled lots of things like this pouch...

And this ornament...

But, even supermodels get bored...

We are happy yet amazed that we still have things to say although some days are harder than others.  We are very thankful to have such wonderful friends that visit from all over the world too!  To show our appreciation we're going to have a commenthon with $1 for every comment through midnight PDT tonight being donated to Senior Dog Rescue in our sisfur Sadie's honor.  

Thanks to everybody who visits and keeps us going!  We are more grateful than we can say!  We hope we give you a smile and we hope you spread those smiles around!

Inspiration

Last week I remembered that we hadn't done this month's BBArtisans challenge from Duni at Duni's Studio.  The challenge is to "surprise yourself by creating something with a color you rarely use".   I picked out colors that we very rarely use in beady goodies...

Of course I soopervised everything...

My due diligence was rewarded...

Anyway, we eventually came up with these earrings and got them listed in our BeadedTail shop...

My favorite show was on the Birdie Network by that time but they did go through the Tortie inspection process...

Good thing I remembered the challenge huh?  What would Mommy do without us?

The Weekend is ThisClose

It's Friday which is good but our Grandpa from Kansas is coming today which is great!  We love it when Grandpa comes to visit even though Mommy is trying to get four months of housecleaning done in one day.  We keep trying to tell her that Grandpa won't notice the house at all with us here.  She ain't buying it so I'll just sit here and wait for Grandpa while she runs around like a fool...

We're going to enjoy our time with Grandpa so we're taking a few days off and will return Monday or Tuesday or...

No Rest for the Tortie

These days Mommy may be working less but I'm working more.  Now after we've helped her work on tax returns there's still time left to work on beady goodies.  Maybe if I ignore her she'll let me off the hook today...

It's my job to make sure the beads stay where they're supposed to...

I know I make it look easy but it's really an intense job...

If only I'd known that whapping the beads back into line would get me a time out I would've done it long ago...

Beading is a tough job but somekitty's got to do it!  What would she do without me?

Wordless Wednesday

Happy Earth Day!

We may not be allowed outside but that doesn't mean that we don't care what's going on out there.  We love sunshine, fresh air and green trees for the birdies to live in...

Even mice realize the importance of all of us taking care of the earth to keep it beautiful for everyone...

We do our part by recycling boxes, conserving energy and not wasting foods!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend!  Our's was pretty quiet so we did some hanging out on the cat tree...

And some snuggling too...

We also helped Mommy make several pairs of earrings for our shop which she hasn't done since February 23rd!  Can you believe she slacked off that long?  It certainly wasn't because of us since we we're always ready to play with make beady goodies!  Anyway, we're slowly getting back to normal around here although the way we remember it, normal for us involved a lot more treats!

Finally Friday!

It's finally the end of the week!  Mommy didn't feel like doing much but we'll get her in gear next week and make beady goodies at least.  She did go on a photo shoot at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn, OR with a friend.  There were tulips as far as the eye could see...

The noisy strangers finished most of the work on Monday so now I can take a bath in the bathtub...

Mommy even got it all cleaned up for me...

Hey Bella, you show them the new cabinet...

Alright little sis!  There was zero storage in the guest litterbox so that problem has been solved with this new cabinet...

There's two pullout drawers and the cabinet guys are bringing another shelf for even more storage.  Pretty clever huh?

The wood looks like different colors in the photos but they're both natural cherry wood so they are the same color...

So, the guest litterbox is complete except for the knobs for the cabinets, backsplash, mirror, pictures and towel rods.  In other words, it's thisclose to being complete but it's come a long way from where it began...

We're hoping for an uneventful day for relaxing since we really haven't been able to do any yet.
