We were tagged by our fellow Oregonian and Etsy friend Linda from the blog
Abigail's Attic to write about, well, our writing process. Linda blogs about her crafty goodies and her very large family (10 kids, 27 grandkids!) who she enjoys very much and it comes through in her writing! She also makes lots and lots of aprons that are sold at
Bob's Red Mill in Milwaukee, OR!
Linda asked us to answer the following questions so we'll do our best!
1. What are we working on/writing?
We're actually very hard working kitties in that we help Mommy when she's being the accountant kind of CPA working on tax returns, we are designers and snoopervisors when she makes beady goodies and we are purrfessional couch holder downers. As far as our writing, Mommy actually quit her job as of June 30th for several reasons one being to have more time to pursue her dream of writing a book. Well, since she quit she's still working part time for her old job (dang tax deadlines and no one else to do her work) and also doing another job for a CPA friend so there's less time than ever for her to write a book. So, the only writing we do is for this blog.
2. How does our work/writing differ from others of its genre?
Since our genre is kitties, we know other kitties are doing the same as we do but in a different way of course. We all love to play, nap, eat, etc. so we guess what makes us different is our purrsonalities. Also, it appears that someTortie here has broken all of the Tortie stereotypes by being the total opposite of what is expected. She's extremely mellow, cuddly, laid back, never angry, not scared of doorbells or delivery trucks and will lay on anyone who will let her. That makes us really different!
3. Why do we write what we do?
We are very happy kitties and love our lives especially since we have our Mommy and Daddy so trained to cater to our every need. We write because we want to spread a little happiness to others by sharing a glimpse of how we spend our days. Honestly, we almost quit blogging after our sisfur Sadie went to the Bridge two years ago because she was always going on fun adventures and with us being indoor kitties, we don't go on any adventure. But we remembered her desire to spread smiles so we stepped up to the plate and found adventures inside to share with our readers in hopes of continuing to spread smiles! That's why we write what we do!
4. How does our writing process work?
Our writing process consists of Mommy following us around with the flashy beast and writing what we dictate. For the most part she does a pretty good job of interpreting what we are saying but any references to being lazy or less than svelte are obviously stuff she slipped in without our knowledge. She can often tell when we're about ready to act out a blog post so she keeps that flashy beast close by in order to capture the photos to go with our story. Daddy can tell when we're doing something that should be a blog post but since he has no clue what we're saying, he'll call for Mommy to come in to see us. We try to give her enough material so she can schedule posts a few days ahead but often she's sitting here in a panic the night before trying to transcribe for us. We've been letting her off the hook though and if she just can't get it done, we tell her not to stress about it and we just have a no post day. Blogging should be fun, not stressful right?
Anyway, that's a glimpse into how our posts come about. If you haven't been tagged in this type of post and would like to participate, consider yourself tagged! One group we'd love to hear how their process works is the
Island Cats! Wally, Ernie and Zoey are so funny and never fail to make us giggle so we'd like to hear their process! Plus, our mommy met the lady with the yellow hair at BlogPaws and we hear she's the sweetest ever!
We hope you enjoy whatever your working on/writing today!
