Our So-Called Writing Process

We were tagged by our fellow Oregonian and Etsy friend Linda from the blog Abigail's Attic to write about, well, our writing process.  Linda blogs about her crafty goodies and her very large family (10 kids, 27 grandkids!) who she enjoys very much and it comes through in her writing!  She also makes lots and lots of aprons that are sold at Bob's Red Mill in Milwaukee, OR!

Linda asked us to answer the following questions so we'll do our best!

1.  What are we working on/writing?

We're actually very hard working kitties in that we help Mommy when she's being the accountant kind of CPA working on tax returns, we are designers and snoopervisors when she makes beady goodies and we are purrfessional couch holder downers.  As far as our writing, Mommy actually quit her job as of June 30th for several reasons one being to have more time to pursue her dream of writing a book.  Well, since she quit she's still working part time for her old job (dang tax deadlines and no one else to do her work) and also doing another job for a CPA friend so there's less time than ever for her to write a book.  So, the only writing we do is for this blog.

2.  How does our work/writing differ from others of its genre?

Since our genre is kitties, we know other kitties are doing the same as we do but in a different way of course.  We all love to play, nap, eat, etc. so we guess what makes us different is our purrsonalities.  Also, it appears that someTortie here has broken all of the Tortie stereotypes by being the total opposite of what is expected.  She's extremely mellow, cuddly, laid back, never angry, not scared of doorbells or delivery trucks and will lay on anyone who will let her.  That makes us really different!

3.  Why do we write what we do?

We are very happy kitties and love our lives especially since we have our Mommy and Daddy so trained to cater to our every need.  We write because we want to spread a little happiness to others by sharing a glimpse of how we spend our days.  Honestly, we almost quit blogging after our sisfur Sadie went to the Bridge two years ago because she was always going on fun adventures and with us being indoor kitties, we don't go on any adventure.  But we remembered her desire to spread smiles so we stepped up to the plate and found adventures inside to share with our readers in hopes of continuing to spread smiles!  That's why we write what we do!

4.  How does our writing process work?

Our writing process consists of Mommy following us around with the flashy beast and writing what we dictate.  For the most part she does a pretty good job of interpreting what we are saying but any references to being lazy or less than svelte are obviously stuff she slipped in without our knowledge.  She can often tell when we're about ready to act out a blog post so she keeps that flashy beast close by in order to capture the photos to go with our story.  Daddy can tell when we're doing something that should be a blog post but since he has no clue what we're saying, he'll call for Mommy to come in to see us.  We try to give her enough material so she can schedule posts a few days ahead but often she's sitting here in a panic the night before trying to transcribe for us.  We've been letting her off the hook though and if she just can't get it done, we tell her not to stress about it and we just have a no post day.  Blogging should be fun, not stressful right?

Anyway, that's a glimpse into how our posts come about.  If you haven't been tagged in this type of post and would like to participate, consider yourself tagged!  One group we'd love to hear how their process works is the Island Cats!  Wally, Ernie and Zoey are so funny and never fail to make us giggle so we'd like to hear their process!  Plus, our mommy met the lady with the yellow hair at BlogPaws and we hear she's the sweetest ever!

We hope you enjoy whatever your working on/writing today!

Happy Sadieday!

Yay it's Sadieday! It's an extra special Sadieday too because our Grandpa from Kansas will be here to spoil see us! It took him two months to get here in his RV because he made a little detour through Canada and Alaska but he's finally in Oregon! Anyway, before he gets here, I get to choose the winners of our Innova free bag of food coupon giveaway so I'm ready...
I had Mommy put the names of everybuddy on a piece of paper for me...
Then I picked the first winner...
I got so excited I almost ate the piece of paper and Mommy had to wrangle it out of my mouth so it's a little chewed on but the first winner is... Wally, Ernie and Zoe - the Island Cats! I controlled myself a little more when choosing the second winner... Mommy opened the piece of paper I picked (say that fast five times!) and it said...
Marg and all her critters! Okay, it didn't exactly say "and all her critters" on the paper but you know what I meant. Anyway, congratulations to both the winners. My mommy will be getting your address from you and get your coupons in the mail. Now, I think I should get a treat or two for my hard work...
By the way, don't I look cute in my pink polka dotted bandana? It's from my furiend Duke and we got other stuffs from Duke and his mom that we'll be telling you about soon but right now I need to get ready to see Grandpa!

Hope you have a Happy Sadieday!

Meow Meow (and a Bark) Me Me Tell All Thursday!

Our baker's dozen furiends from the Katnip Lounge in Las Vegas have tagged us for a meme where us kitties are supposed to answer some questions about us. Well, we're going to break the rules a little since our sisfur Sadie wants to play along too. Anyway, here goes...

1. Where do we like to hang out?

Isabella is always hanging out with Daddy while Angel and Sadie are always hanging out with Mommy. When we're not with our pawrents, us kitties like to hang out on the cat tree watching the birdies... Sadie likes hanging out on the deck (with Mommy) watching for neighbor kitties...

2. Who is our kitty crush?

We love all the Mancats so there's no way to pick just one but Angel's first crush was Samson from The Monkeys...

3. What is our favorite scent?

We love the smell of nip...
and stinky goodness...
and Sadie loves the smell of fresh baked woofie cookies...

4. What is our favorite TV show?

We just watch the Birdie Channel so we don't watch TV but we watch our pawrents watch TV...

5. What is our favorite movie?

On movie nights we prefer to snuggle on Mommy's lap rather than watch the movie...
Sadie just always watches Mommy no matter what's going on...

6. What is our best piece of Feline Wisdom?

Play hard, nap long and enjoy some nip and treats along the way!

We're supposed to tag 3 furiends so here's our choices:

The Monkeys
Simba
The Island Cats

We hope you enjoyed our Tell All!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Last month we won a FURminator from Wally, Ernie and Zoe - the Island Cats - for Romeo's National Hairball Awareness Day. Our FURminator arrived last week and Mommy couldn't wait to try it out on my long hair and on my sisfur Isabella's thick tortie hair. I wasn't so sure about it though.
Isabella and I don't really like to be combed - actually we both despise it but tolerate it - a little. We did let Mommy use the FURminator on us - a little - and she was very happy with the amount of hair that it did get out in the few minutes seconds that we let her comb us. Our big sisfur Sadie, who hates to be combed worse than us, came over and snickered at us being FURminated.
Then we told her that although the box says it's the Cat version, she was going to be FURminated next...
Not so funny now is it Sadie?

Even though the FURminator is the smaller kitty version, it got quite a bit of hair out of Sadie in the little time she let Mommy use it on her. We're all for more results with less combing so in that case we all really like the FURminator!

Thank you Wally, Ernie, Zoe and Romeo too!

Cat-O-lympics!

We finally talked Mommy into letting us enter the Cat-O-lympics after much prodding - she kept saying she was too busy to help us find our entries. Yeah, well we're not too busy to hire a new Pawsitant! Anyway, she did help us and although some of the photos have been on our blog before, we hope you enjoy our entries!
The Cat-O-lympics was started by Fin who happens to be hosting the Balance Beam event. Here is Angel's entry as she demonstrates extreme maneuvers on the balance beam.
My favorite sport is Competive Napping! This is my entry in this event being hosted by Huffle Mawson.
And here is Angel's entry in Competive Napping.
The Island Cats are hosting the synchronized sleeping event. Since my little sisfur doesn't often sleep beside me but she sleeps on me so here's our entry for this event.
Jennifer Lorton is hosting the Hiding event and Angel is purrty good at this so here's her entry.
There is a Birdie and Squirrel watching event hosted by The Furry Bambinos. Well, we watch birdies every day but how about watching opossums!
We had fun pawticipating in the Cat-O-lympics and also seeing the other competitors in action!

Best of luck to all the Cat-O-lympians!

Serene Sunday and Catching Up (Still)

We sorta overdid it yesterday by playing race track all over the house and playing in boxes and with paper and, well, you get the picture.
So today, we are going to rest ALL day long! Before we do, we need to acknowledge some awards that we got hundreds of years ago - our bean help is very, very slow. We're still behind but hope to get caught up soon!

Thanks for the award though Margaret!********************************************************
