Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Last month we won a FURminator from Wally, Ernie and Zoe - the Island Cats - for Romeo's National Hairball Awareness Day. Our FURminator arrived last week and Mommy couldn't wait to try it out on my long hair and on my sisfur Isabella's thick tortie hair. I wasn't so sure about it though.
Isabella and I don't really like to be combed - actually we both despise it but tolerate it - a little. We did let Mommy use the FURminator on us - a little - and she was very happy with the amount of hair that it did get out in the few minutes seconds that we let her comb us. Our big sisfur Sadie, who hates to be combed worse than us, came over and snickered at us being FURminated.
Then we told her that although the box says it's the Cat version, she was going to be FURminated next...
Not so funny now is it Sadie?

Even though the FURminator is the smaller kitty version, it got quite a bit of hair out of Sadie in the little time she let Mommy use it on her. We're all for more results with less combing so in that case we all really like the FURminator!

Thank you Wally, Ernie, Zoe and Romeo too!

Ick! Momma's got one of those things too and we don't like it one little bit!

Well it sounds interesting to me. Maybe I will have look it up and see if it works on short haired dogs.

Love the expression on Sadie when she found out she was getting furminated.
Duke would probably love this. Not only does he like getting combed he like being vacuumed too.

I got the dog-sized Furminator and use it on our cats as well. I really went to town with it yesterday, filling up half a plastic shopping bag with fur from my dog and two cats. Abby, the dog, loves it and to my surprise, so did Manny, my Mancat. He even turned over for me and let me do his tummy too! Spunky Doodle only tolerated it for a about a minute or so. It does a good job though!

If somebody could invent a device that made cats love to be combed, including their tummies, then that would be a major breakthrough! Mom has thought of getting a furminator, but she doesn't think I would let her use it much. There is only one brush I will allow DAD to use on me and NO TUMMY OR SIDES OR TOCKS!

We got one of those too and Mom has been using it on all the long haired animals. It really works well and we don't like it but it doesn't get rid of our extra hair and poor Jasmine has way too much hair so it is really helping her. We thank Romeo too for sending us one. It is terrific.
Have a great day. And Sadie, you will get used to it. Jasmine almost likes it now.

Sorry 'bout IT -

Merdie is furry patient about being brushed and stuff -

We love Sadie's expression in the bottom photo! As you know, we actually do not mind being furminated - we like it better than our old cat brush. Maybe we should send Franklin over to demonstrate? (it worked for Tasha!)

I LOVE Sadie's faces! That dog is just so full of expressions!! :) My kitties like to be brushed, especially Grace as she gets older and can't really do the job so well anymore.

Uh oh, Sadie, you didn't know you were going to be furminated, too! We LOVE to be combed! It feels so soothing on our skins. Maybe we should get our mommy to try the furminator because we have lots of extra furs.

Sadie does look a tad apprehensive...

We all love to be groomed but we like to wander while Mommy does it. It's a gas to watch Mommy scootch all over the floor on her butt, following us so she get all the loose furs.

Hmmm, goats love to be brushed. Do they have a goatinator?

That woman I live with has two brushes; one is the old fashioned brush that has fine bent wire teeth and she has a furnimomitor too. We DON'T like the furnim..furmom... that one but we LOVE the wire brush. She says she gets just as much fur off us AND she let's us do the 'bite and rub' on our cheek faces where the scent glands are. She says it's funny to hear or purrs when our mouths are open but our teef are closed! (like we do anything for her entertainment).

She still keeps that other one around in case we start yackin' but really don't anymore (other than the yacking sound we make when she uses baby talk on us)

good luck with gettin the furrs off; it's better for you. don't tell ANYONE we said that.

Oh, you guys have NO idea what you're missing! I LOVE the Furminator. In fact, I love to be brushed, period. The other two cats here don't love it as much as me (I request brushings regularly), but they will let my human follow them around with the Furminator for 5 or 10 minutes, until she is done.

Know what I've heard is great for pets that don't like to be brushed? The Rubba Scrubba from Flylady.net. There are tons of testimonials from people who have tried it on their pets and the animals LOVED it.

Look at Sadie's eyes - don't you just know she is going to run and hide? We have been seeing the brush way too much here, and we don't like it at all. Hurry, Sadie, now's your chance to get away.

Yay! We're glad you got your furminator! We only let mom use it on us for a few seconds too...it sure gets a lot of fur out of us, though!! Zoey is the worst, cuz she's got that long furs.

We LOVE the Furminator here! I push Inigo out of the way so I can get extra Furmination!

FURminator! What a great name...maybe next time you'll get that minute instead of seconds :P

OMG Sadie's face does NOT look happy in that last shot. You'd think you were going to give her a bath and not just give her coat a comb through.

We HAD a FURminator, but our mom sent it to our fur cousins. :)
Whew.

Hmmm... I'm going to have to find one of those FURminator's for Banjo. I like to comb him everyday but he tolerates it for about 3 minutes and then he tries to bite me! Oh he's a naughty boy sometimes. :(

My kitty has something similar to the furminator, and I cannot believe the amount of fur that comes out of him!

We could sure use one of those for our cats- Koko especially. My wife brushes him and it's like getting a second cat from the amount of fur she gets off of him.
