Ready for Santa Claws

We're as ready as we'll ever be for Santa Claws. Mommy finally got us a tree although it doesn't smell nearly as fresh as a real tree does. The little snowman doesn't smell too fresh either...
The tree tickled my nose...
Oops! Timberrr!
The tree fainted...
Anyway, we've both been on our best behavior all year...
Well, almost...
We're sure we're still on Santa's nice list. We know you are too!

Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend! May all your Christmas wishes come true!

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!

Holiday Memories

Today would've been our angel sisfur Sadie's 16th birthday and although she's been at the bridge for 4.5 years, we still think of her often especially during the holidays. She loved presents and was quite the snoop...
Of course with her sweet face she was always on Santa's nice list...
These memories made us smile and we hope they made you smile too! She loved spreading smiles around!

Happy Birthday at the bridge sweet angel Sadie!
We miss you and love you always!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a great weekend! We sure did! Our Grandpa from Kansas got here and we also got a Christmas tree...
Do you need help Daddy?
Are you sure?
For some reason he didn't want my help so he said he set a cat trap to keep me out of his way. I have no idea what that means...
I love our Christmas tree but all the vacuuming, not so much. Oh well, it's worth it. I'm happy and so are Mommy and Isabella so Daddy scored lots of points for getting it for us!

Hope you're happy today too!

Tis the Season on Sadieday

Happy Sadieday!  We're slowly getting in the Christmas spirit around here.  It's been difficult without our sisfur Sadie but we finally got our tree up although it's naked except for three ornaments...
It'll look more like a Christmas tree once we get the lights on and the angel on top.  Hey, what's that I see...
It looks like there might be a couple of lights on and an Angel underneath...
Can you see me?  Let me move this branch...
We don't have any presents under the tree yet.  That was Sadie's favorite part...
And of course she knew just how to get away with snooping and still making Santa smile...
We hope you smile today and every day!  Be sure to spread those smiles around especially on Sadieday!

Our Grandpa from Kansas is here so we might be slow in commenting since we're being spoiled spending time with him.

Enjoy your Sadieday and weekend!

PeeS:  Mommy will be putting her shop on vacation tomorrow through December 7th in case you were eyeing something!

Monday Mischief

Hey efurryone! You won't believe what happened! Somebuddy came in the night when we were all sound asleep and put our Christmas presents and tree skirt into a pile...
It's kinda skeery thinking that somebuddy did this and we didn't even know it was happening! We know that Santa Claws knows we didn't do it...
It is a mess but I want to point out that even though my nip jelly bean was at the scene of the crime, I have no idea who did this Mommy...
Does somebuddy mess with your Christmas stuff in the middle of the night too?

Sprucing Up the Place...

Now that we are left in the care of the neighbors and a pet sitter, we have to step up and get things done around here. My job is to check the tree...
And make sure the ornaments are in the proper position...
Mommy and Daddy are going to be so happy with me when they get home tomorrow!

Do you help with the Christmas tree too?

Have a good day!

It's Monday Already?

The holiday weekend went by way too fast! Mommy is back at work and Daddy is back in school so I have to figure out what to do. Our Christmas tree is still naked so I can't even play with the ornaments... I guess I'm just going to have to lay here and look cute!

What are your plans for the day?

Enjoy your Monday!

Happy Sadieday!

It's Sadieday and it finally quit raining which means Mommy has been busy spending the daylight strolling hours getting things done like picking up leaves and getting a Christmas tree. Yeah, her priorities are totally messed up. When she wanted to take photos of me, well, I was just too busy...
She tried again outside but nope, I'm still too busy... I'm busy doing things like watching for kitties so no photo session for me...
I might not be too busy if treats were involved though... Did you say okay Mommy?
I'm never too busy for Yummy Chummies!
Now if only she could get un-busy so we can go on a Sadieday stroll in the daylight instead of the dark. Oh well, any stroll is better than no stroll!

I hope you are able to enjoy something fun this Sadieday!
Sadie

PeeS: I'm still limping a little but I'm taking a new chewy pill called Dasuquin with MSM that we heard about from our friend Sugar here that seems to be helping. We'll know more in another week or so but hopefully it means I'll be back to normal very soon!

Who Dunnit?

Angel, why doesn't our tree hardly have any ornaments and NO ornaments on the bottom half of it?
I dunno.
Sadie, why are there Christmas tree needles all over the floor and the presents all messed up?
I dunno.
Just a few more days to stay off the naughty list, hope we make it!
Hope you have a great Monday!

Christmas Traditions

The EtsyBloggers Blog Carnival hosted by Stormy Designs had the following choices:
1. Christmas traditions & recipes- Share Christmas traditions or your favorite holiday recipe.
2. Christmas spotlight- Show & tell of a Christmas item in your shop or your favorite gift idea in someone else's shop.

Since I recently showed some great gift ideas, I'll choose to share Christmas traditions. As a child I remember we always had a real tree that we'd go pick out from a tree farm and my dad would cut it down. Nothing smells better than a real tree! My husband and I continue that tradition but have only had two trees since moving to Oregon - where there are Christmas tree farms pretty much every where you go! Pictured below is our first Oregon tree in 2005 along with Sadie and KC - I sort of went overboard when picking it out and it was a lot taller than expected!
We always fix a special meal for Christmas Eve dinner that we don't have any other time of the year. Well, let me clarify that, I pick out the recipes and my husband cooks the meal since he's the chef in our family! My favorites are chosen from an Emeril Lagasse cookbook or inspired by other countries such as Chinese food or Italian food, etc.. As soon as dinner is complete we start a fire in the fireplace and open presents. We always have plenty of gifts for the pets and it's so fun to watch them open their presents - or just play with the wrapping paper! After all the presents have been opened and the parents called so I can report what we got, I love to go on walks around the neighborhood on Christmas Eve because it's so peaceful and the Christmas trees are all lit up and I love looking at the decorations on people's homes.

On Christmas Day we just have another fire going in the fireplace and enjoy a nice, relaxing day with just us and the furbabies!
