Peace and Quiet

After three days of noisy roofers on our house as well as another three days of them working at our next door neighbor's, it's finally quiet once more! Isabella slept through the whole ordeal. I was antsy and anxious but I did get the nerve up to check out the action like watching the guy load the shingles onto the roof...

It took an hour for them to stack everything up there...

Of course every bundle was dropped with a loud thud. The hammering of the liner paper shook the house breaking two bulbs out of the kitchen spotlights and knocking photos off the wall. The whole ordeal was messy...

 And exhausting...

We are back at work today and should get back to normal soon. We hope we never have to go through anything like that again. Ever.

The Week Ahead

Is it really Monday already?

We had a fabulous weekend but it went by way too fast. Normally every day is the same for us but we're dreading this week. We're getting a new roof on our house which will be nap disrupting and extremely noisy. We'll be hanging out with Mommy downstairs which is as far away from the roof as we can get. Depending on how Mommy we hold up, we might take the whole week off from our blog.  We sure hope your week is much quieter and relaxing than ours will be!

Finally, Sun!

We've had a few days here and there of sun but for the first time since last year we're going to have an entire week of sun! I'm going to soak up this sunpuddle.

Even BatCat is taking some of my sunshine!

Mommy, would you please make Angel and BatCat go away so I can have the entire sunpuddle?

Thankful Thursday

Recently we won a giveaway from our friend Phoebe and her family - a package of thirteen toys crocheted by her mom!

So many goodies!

Wordless Waiting

Caught in the Act!

We were left alone this weekend while Mommy and Daddy went to garden centers. They were supposedly looking for plants and veggies so imagine our surprise when we found this photo on Mommy's phone...

One of the nurseries they went to has a cat on duty. Yeah, okay, that's fine and dandy but  apparently somedaddy couldn't resist it...

He's giving that cat OUR scritches!

Oh yeah, we totally know that feels so good...

Obviously some blissed out nursery kitty does too...

What were we doing while all this was going on? Nothing. We had absolutely nothing to do...

We're thankful they came home with only tomatoes and peppers and we both got lots and lots of scritches from Daddy! He's forgiven.

Reception Disruption

Earlier this week we had sunshine and warm temps so I decided instead of napping, I'd watch a little Birdie TV...

Trouble is, for the full three minutes I was awake in front of the window, not one birdie showed up.

Mommy, something is wrong with this channel...

She had no idea what was wrong since everything was in good working order. Later when she was pulling out of the driveway, she saw what was causing the disruption...

That poofy tailed guy runs across our roof to the tree then jumps into the bird feeder. If he sees us in the window he gets on a branch, taps his feets quickly and gives us quite the lecture. I'm sure if I understood squirrel, I'd be offended. He's definitely a squirrel with an attitude!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a wonderful weekend! We had a mostly sunny weekend which meant our peeps started cleaning up the yard. This can't be done without my snoopervision...

I meowed lots of direction and of course Mommy answered me back. Daddy is sure the neighbors wonder what kind of weeds are actually growing in our yard. Anyway, it was tiring work so I spent the evening cuddling with my sisfur...

Daddy took that picture of us and he was under the impression we'd look at him if he made funny noises. Uh, yeah, no.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Flashback with Angel Sadie.

We're celebrating an early Sadieday on Cinco de Mayo because, well, we can. You'd think since we're half Mexicats that we would've been prepared but we're not thanks to the one who's responsible for us being half gringa. Oh well, we hope you enjoy this la repeticion from cinco years ago!

Since it is Sadieday, I came up with cinco ways to celebrate the holiday:

Uno)  Live it up with cinco treats given every cinco minutes.

Dos)   Enjoy cinco strolls this holiday weekend.                 

Tres)  Take cinco naps.                        

Four)  Relax with cinco belly rubs.         

Cinco) Limit yourself to cinco niptinis or Bark-a-ritas...

As you can tell, I thought of the last one a couple of Bark-a-ritas too late.

Wordless Wednesday

So Close...

Imagine my surprise when I spotted a delicious cute little birdie on our deck! Unfortunately there was glass between him and me...

He just sat there calmly while I chattered and went bonkers. I made such a commotion Daddy came to see what was going on. Instead of letting me have him, he told spoilsport Mommy. She was afraid of the neighbor cat getting it so she dumped the grape tomatoes into a bowl, made Daddy hold me while she opened the door (because I really wanted to get to that birdie) and she scooped the birdie up in the container... 

I knew exactly what to do with the birdie but they didn't so they called a local rescue who didn't answer the phone. Mommy then asked Maggie and Cammie's birdie expert mom what to do. She said it was a MacGillivary's Warbler and probably just stunned. Sure enough the birdie eventually began trying to fly in the container so Daddy released the little guy near my birdie bush and my breakfast flew away...

Dagnabbit anyway. That was so close but yet so far. It did make for an exciting weekend though!

Friday Tail, uh, Tale

This bench thingy serves many purposes in our house. It's providing me an extra step down from the bed via the cedar chest. It's the perfect spot for a nap in a sunpuddle...

My little sisfur loves to scratch on it so much it sounds like popcorn popping. Daddy loves when she does it in the middle of the night...

Whoa there, chica! You're getting a little close to my Tortie tail...

Second strike, girlie! Don't make me move hurt you!

*WHAP WHAP WHAP*

I warned her, Mommy. Twice. She started it so why do I feel sorry for her?

Kinda takes the fun out of it when she pouts but don't worry, I didn't hurt her. Anyway, did you see how fast I moved? I still have plenty of pep in my Tortie step!

Weekend Wrap Up

We're adjusting to our new schedule around here although I get a bit confused when Mommy doesn't even go into the office for days at a time now. I follow her all over the house to snoopervise whatever it is she's doing and am grateful when she stays put for awhile...

We were able to rest Friday when Daddy took her to her happy place - Cape Lookout...

When I think of a happy place, it's filled with birds, fish and nip but she enjoyed it which is what matters.

Finally Friday

Tax season is finally over and we're off every Friday for the rest of the year! Yay! We spent the week enjoying much deserved relaxification. *yawn*...

Mommy has been doing things around the house that she's put off for months. She also went with a friend to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest...

The rain held off long enough for them to enjoy the 40 acres of tulips and seeing many different varieties...

Today is supposed to be our nicest day of the year so far with sunny skies and a high near 70. We'll be sure to soak up some sunpuddles before they give way to rain once again this weekend.
