Happy Fall-Day!

We love this time of year. The leaves are turning red on the trees and Mommy thinks they look so pretty.

But, what we really like about it is watching the leaves fall from the tree in the backyard.

It's fun to bat at them as they fall past the window. Plus, it means that once all the leaves fall, the birdies will be out in plain sight! Ooo, we can't wait!

Oh No, It's the Big Red Box on Wheels Again!

The Big Red Box came out again! Mommy is leaving us alone with Daddy again because she is going back to Kansas to see her dad. Daddy was fun when Mommy went to Las Vegas to see her mom last month but we still prefer to have both our beans home. This time we tried getting in the big box together so she couldn't put her stuff in it.
Angel sat on the lid thingy.

Sadie tried another sad face which is hard for her because she's always smiling.
Nothing worked. But, I guess we will just enjoy our time with Daddy. He even bought us a yummy buffet of snacks! Thank you Daddy!

Drumroll please........

We have a new look!

Today is the unveiling of my brand new blog designed by Ana from Chica and Pumuckl Blogger Designs! Isn't it wonderful? Ana did a great job of understanding what I wanted to convey through my blog and I'm very happy with the results!

I want to thank Ana for answering all my questions through this process. I'm great at numbers but understanding all this blog stuff and envisioning a final product, forget it! But, she knew what I wanted before I did and her design turned out better than I could have imagined. Thank you so much Ana! I appreciate the time you spent on my blog design and you have been an absolute pleasure to work with!

Also, I want to thank all my blog visitors because I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you who takes the time to visit my blog and comment from time to time! When I started this blog, I never imagined all the wonderful people I would meet and visit every day and who in turn visit me! I enjoy visiting your blogs and I hope to continue to provide an enjoyable blog for you to visit also! Thank you so much!

Can't Fool Me!

Thanks to Daisy and Lux, I figured out that my mommy was trying to pull a fast one by telling me I was sitting on her laptop the other day when I posted about it. Come to find out, it was just the box the laptop came in! Can you believe that? She didn't want me sitting on her new laptop! Well, I am the diva kitty so I can sit wherever I want to!
Hey look, there is a beautiful kitty looking back at me in it's shiny top!

One problem with sitting on a laptop, it's cold on my kitty butt.

There, this is much for comfy and warm on my cute kitty butt!

Lazy Sunday!

Nothing better than being lazy with the Sunday sun warming your body!

And shining on your whiskers! Excuse me while I resume my nap!

Happy Caturday!

This is a laptop? It's not as comfortable as Mommy's lap-top!
Not as warm as Mommy's lap-top either! Is it warmer out of the box?

As I noted yesterday, I was recently bestowed awards from two wonderful kitty bloggers - Lux and Chica and Pumuckl! I had never received these two special awards before and am very appreciative of receiving them:

Thank you Lux!
With the Premium Dardos, recognize the values that each blogger shows each day in commitment to transmit cultural values, ethical, literary, personal, etc. that, in short, demonstrate their creativity by alive thinking that remains intact from their letters and words." This label implies two rules: the first, link the blog to which he received the award. The second - pick blogs to deliver the prize."

And these are the rules for the Butterfly Award:

~ Put the logo on your blog.
~ Add a link to the person who awarded you.
~ Nominate 10 other blogs.
~ Add links to those blogs on yours.
~ Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs.

I would like to pass this cool butterfly award on to some of the cool EtsyBloggers - in no particular order:

Happy Caturday everyone!

Note to my EC Friends

I have been having trouble connecting to EntreCard both yesterday and today so I apologize for not "dropping" in on you. I will visit your blogs as soon as I can so don't think I am ignoring you! I always try to drop on those who drop on me so I hope to continue that motto!

Until then, enjoy the Friday Facts posted below!

Friday Facts

We're going to share some tidbits of information about ourselves today. Hopefully you enjoy getting to know us better!

Isabella was formally known as Miteeka until we adopted her on 11-3-2006. She then told us her real name is Isabella!

Sadie has never given puppy kisses to anybody. Unlike most dogs who give kisses or lick your hands, Sadie keeps her tongue to herself and has never kissed anybody!

Angel was known as Mia prior to us adopting her on 11-3-2006. She was named Angel because of the black marks on the top of her head and ears. The markings looked like angel wings and we have a Guardian Angel kitty in my beloved kitty Panther who I lost two months prior and she blessed Angel for us!

Isabella doesn't meow, she squeaks. Especially when her daddy leaves, she squeaks up a storm at the door and she does the same thing when he's due to come home. Never say that kitties aren't loyal and smart (but they are spoiled)!

Sadie doesn't like her feet to be touched. She'll growl up a storm if you just barely touch them and we've never figured out why. Isabella is a wet noodle cat! As soon as you touch her to pick her up, she goes limp so it's like trying to pick up a wet noodle.

Angel likes to be picked up as if you were picking up a small child (hands under the armpits) and then carried around draped over your shoulder (front legs at your back, tail swishing in your face). When I shut down my computer at night she comes running and gets on the desk, puts her front paws up to be picked up for her nightly trip around the house dangling over my shoulder. She does this many times throughout the day and will jump on anyone's unsuspecting shoulder if no one pays attention to her.

Another fact is that I am very grateful to Lux and Chica and Pumuckl for nominating me for some blog awards this week. It is an honor to receive awards and I am very grateful and appreciative! I will post the awards and my nominees tomorrow so stay tuned!

Baby Pictures!

I was going through old pictures and came across these baby pictures of Sadie so just had to share!

These pictures were taken right after we adopted her in February 2001. In case you didn't see the earlier post on how we came about adopting Sadie, please click here.

October Featured EtsyBlogger - Baby Friendly Beads!

Jen from BFBeads (Baby Friendly Beads) is the EtsyBloggers featured blogger for the month of October. Jen makes beautiful jewelry for any woman but specifically for mothers. As said in her shop announcement:

"Baby Friendly Beads are beautifully functional nursing necklaces and bracelets. Breastfeeding jewelry gives baby something else to focus on and play with, instead of pulling mom's hair or pinching her skin. Reminder bracelets track nursing sessions. Sturdy and stylish, Baby Friendly Beads are perfect for anybody who spends time with kids. "

Tuesday Tails

Angel's tail is multi-colored and very floofy. Her Daddy says her tail looks like a feather duster! It fits her sweet, "princess" purrsonality!
Isabella's tail is always straight up in the air with a slight curve and she has an orange tip. She walks around as a very proud kitty and knows that any entrance she makes in a room will get attention! Notice how she matches the countertops!
Sadie's tail has a white tip and curves towards her back. It's always wagging which shows she is very happy - especially on hikes!

What does your tail (or your furbabies tail) say about you?

Who Doesn't Love Peanut Butter?

Okay, I know some people do not like peanut butter but peanut butter has always been a favorite in our family. Even Sadie loves peanut butter in her Kong (keeps her busy for at least an hour!) and whenever we get peanut butter out she comes running and is rewarded by getting a dab on her nose. It's amusing watching her lick it off her nose! Notice her tail is a blur? She's lovin' that peanut butter!

Anyway, I had entered a blog giveaway on aptly named the Peanut Butter Blog and I actually won! My prize was one dozen Peanut Butter Cup Shortbread from the Etsy shop Cookies by Kristin and it arrived last Friday! The shortbread was packaged very well and showed no signs of having traveled all the way across the country. There was half a dozen in each of two separate boxes - one for me, one for hubby! And the most important test, the taste test, proved that they were absolutely delicious! The shortbread is very tasty without being too rich and one is very satisfying - but of course it's always hard to stop at just one!

I want to thank The Peanut Butter Blog for having this giveaway and I'm so appreciative of Kristin for providing the delicious prize!

Ode to Summer

Okay, I know the calendar says it's October and officially fall but it didn't really seem that way until the rains started here in the Pacific Northwest today. Hopefully it's just temporary and hasn't settled in until April or May but I'm already longing for summer again! I thought I'd share some of the beautiful places to see here in Oregon year round to remind me of the beauty here despite, and maybe because of, the rain.

I took this photo when we went hiking on the many trails around Multnomah Falls east of Portland. There are multiple waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge area not as majestic as this one but just as beautiful!

I took these pictures in September 2007 at Crater Lake in Southern Oregon. Crater Lake was formed 7,700 years ago when a volcanic eruption caused the 12,000 ft Mount Mazama to collapse. It is 1,943' deep which makes it the deepest lake in the United States and the 7th deepest in the world. The fresh water is so clear and is a gorgeous shade of bright blue. It is certainly a place that must be visited in Oregon!

Sadie went with us on these day trips around Oregon. She loves to go and loves to have her picture taken - don't you Sadie?

Can you believe she's sticking her tongue out at me?

Find Me Friday!

Angel tends to go "missing" from time to time but she can usually be found in closets.

Where do you often find your kitty?
