Weekend Wrap Up in a Quilt

Our weekend was hot, hot, hot! How hot? Enough to make me melt...

To escape the heat our Mommy and Daddy went up into the Cascade Mountains...

They went up there because they thought the coast would be busy with all the peeps escaping to the 60 degree temps. What they didn't know was that it was the annual Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show - the World's LARGEST outdoor quilt show! That meant 10,000 people, their cars, lots of tour buses and our mommy and daddy descended on the town of Sisters, OR to look at 1,300 quilts hung up throughout the town...

They didn't see all the quilts but they looked at quite a few such as this dogs with glasses one...

Mommy got a giggle out of this guy's sign. It says 'Quilt widowers - Husband sitting services'...

MOL! Daddy didn't see the humor in it. He can be a fuddy duddy. Anyway, she has a few more pics of animal quilts but since this post is full already, we'll save them for later. We hear they pet a cat too but there's no evidence of that. They just can't help themselves sometimes. *sigh*

Weekend Finds

We had a relaxing weekend napping at home in sunpuddles. Mommy had a relaxing weekend at her happy place on the beach...

She and Daddy had the beach all to themselves so she explored and found lots of interesting things such as this pattern in the sand...

And these heart shaped rocks...

Also a ladybug caught in the edge of the surf...

She thought this shell looked like Wilson from the movie Cast Away...

On the trail back up to the car, Daddy spotted this painted rock shoved in the cracks of the post it's now sitting on...

Further up Mommy found this Care Bear painted rock...

After she got home she thought she found seals...

It was just us waiting to find dinner.

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a great weekend with our Grandpa from Kansas here. In between giving us scritches and tummy rubs, he fixed up a table for Mommy's scarecrow on the front porch since hanging it proved to be difficult...

Mommy and Daddy also took him to the coast several times to see views...

And whales...

I guess he doesn't have oceans and whales in Kansas but don't tell our friends Maggie and Cammie because they live near the Kansas Ocean. Anyway, having more peeps in the house is fun but exhausting...

He's here for just a short time longer so we're going to enjoy as many scritches and tummy rubs as we can. And naps too of course.

Tortie Tuesday

Did you get to see the solar eclipse yesterday? If so, I hear it was amazing. If not, yeah, I didn't either. I was taking my five hour morning nap... 

When Mommy came in babbling something about the total solar eclipse happening at 10:17am...

Seriously Mommy? You woke me up for an eclipse? 

Clearly she didn't realize it meant it was going to get dark and what do we do when it gets dark? That's right. Sleep. *sigh* Anyway, I knew my little sisfur was watching her watch the eclipse because, well, she doesn't let Mommy out of her sight...

See, it got dark! I guess the stars came out too. I wouldn't know. I was sleeping.

Weekend Wrap Up

Our weekend technically isn't over until Wednesday but we're wrapping up our weekend so far. We've had glorious weather - mid 70s, open windows and sunpuddles! Of course that meant Mommy and Daddy went to the coast on Saturday. She said it was beautiful over there with lots of tourists and lots of seals hanging out on the rocks...

Yesterday I helped make beady goodies...

I also napped. I deserved it. I work hard.

Finally Friday

We're glad it's Friday! Our mommy and daddy are coming home from the coast today where they've been for a few days celebrating our Daddy's birthday. They're staying in a house right on the ocean front...

One halibut of a storm came through Wednesday night and the waves even splashed up on the deck...

The waves in the cove beside them sound like thunder when they hit the shore...

They enjoyed their little getaway and we enjoyed scritches from our Grandpa from Kansas so we're all thankful for a wonderful week!

Weekend Wrap Up

We hope you had a great weekend!  We sure did!  Mommy's friend came over Friday evening to visit us go to a baseball game with Mommy and Daddy.  I kept a little bit of distance but Isabella doesn't know how to do that so she got lots of attention.  Anyway, after the game Mommy got a cell phone pic of the beautiful sunset...

Mommy and I got up at 5:30 Saturday morning so I didn't starve we enjoyed some open window time.  I had no idea that Deer TV comes on at that time.  Can you see the deer in the road?

It was filmed across the cul-de-sac but you've heard what bears do in the woods, well, it appears that deers do it in neighbor's yards....

Sorry the photo is blurry but Mommy was giggling too much.  She's weird.  Anyway, when the Deer show was over Mommy and Daddy went to the coast where it was cooler.  Even though the marine layer was in, they still had a good time...

They went on a three mile hike, according to mommy it was uphill both ways, and they saw a tree hugger...

MOL!

Speaking of trees, they are super tall over on the coast as you can tell in this photo compared to the lady on the trail...

They're so tall that it'd be really hard seeing the birdies so I prefer our trees...

Resting Up

Whew!  What a weekend!  Mommy was gone a lot with our visitor and since I'm used to her being home all day I missed her.  When they came home, I was the first to run down the stairs meowing loudly the whole way so she heard me coming before she saw me.  I know this makes her feel really guilty but I just can't help myself because I was so glad to see her and of course she was glad to see my cute face too...

She did tell me about some of the things they saw while they were out and I wasn't too interested in scraggly looking trees and marine layer at Cape Perpetua...

Or the sunny coastline at Heceta Head...

But I was interested in how the heck do you groom a fish and why is it different between fresh and saltwater kinds...

I also thought the little dog with the same colors as our angel sisfur Sadie was interesting...

I'm just really glad things are back to normal at least for awhile.  Our Grandma from Las Vegas will be here later this week so I better rest up so I'm fully ready to be spoiled!

It's Sadieday so time for another stroll with me! I was so excited about this stroll that I showed you a preview on Wordless Wednesday but today we're actually going to go strollin' so grab your water and let's go!
Since it's such a beautiful day, I decided to take Mommy to the top of the world (or at least the top of a really big hill)...
She sure did a lot of complaining as we hiked the long, uphill trail but even she had to admit the view was worth it...
Our city is among all those trees in front of us and of course that's my cutie patootie directly in your view! Of course to balance out my cutie patootie, I have an even more cute face...
I hope you enjoyed our stroll to the top of the world hill today! Be sure to get out and enjoy the nature around your neck of the woods today too!

Sadieday Field Trip!

It's my favorite day of the week again and today I wanted to go to my favorite place. Do you wanna come with me? Well then grab your water and a towel and let's go! It's been awhile since I've come to the coast so I had to check out so many things like the driftwood... And this big ol' rope from some big ol' boat...
Of course I had to dip my paws in the ocean too... There's just so much to do here at the coast... I just love it here! Can you tell?
