Thankful for Santa and So Much More...

Santa Claws was very good to us this year!  We got toys, treats, crinkly paper, bags and new stinky goodness dishes for me and my sisfur...
Wonder why Santa didn't bring me a birdie though...
Mommy got nice presents from her Secret Santa too!  Her BBArtisans teammate LeAnn was her Secret Santa this year and sent her Chai tea (which Mommy loves!) and a very cute kitty oven mitt which was already put to use when Mommy made cookies...
Since we're not allowed on the counters when baking or cooking is going on, I'll just have to wait to get a closer look at the oven mitt...
Okay, I waited long enough, let me just pull it a little closer...
We're very thankful for everything we received this year!  Of course we're most thankful for having a warm house filled with love and foods and also all our friends from around the world!  We appreciate all of you!

We hope you're filled with gratitude too!
Angel

PeeS:  The recipe for the cookies above is here.  Mommy's don't quite look the same but Daddy says they're yummy!

Thankful Thursday

Our friend Edi from Memories for Life Scrapbooks made new ornaments for dogs and cats in her shop this year.  Well, it so happened that the name on the sample cat ornament she made is my name!   Since it had my name on it already, Edi was very kind and sent it to me!
I love it!  It's absolutely purrfect and it even passes the official Tortie Taste Test...
And my own secret test that always freaks Mommy out...
She also made one for my little sisfur Angel.  She loves her ornament too but as you can see, she loves birdies just a bit more...
She did take time out to give it the official Angel sniff test and it passed...
Thank you so much Edi!  We love our ornaments very much!
We hope you have lots to be thankful for today!

Thankful Thursday

We're thankful for many things every day but today we're thankful for gifts from our woofie friend, SisseeLou!  SisseLou's momma, Melana, recently made us really pretty mats for under our food bowls and SisseeLou had her include gifts for us!
Who knew a dog would know the purrfect gift of little mice filled with nip!
Mommy took lots of photos but they are all pretty much blurry since it was night time and the mice were so fun to play with I wouldn't hold still...
She also sent crinkly paper that was really fun too.
Hey, did that mousie move?
SisseeLou sent a mousie for Angel too but she was a little leery at first...
but it didn't take her long to whap it...
She got a big whiff of nip too and it made her all crazypants...
Thank you SisseeLou for the pawsome mousies!  We LOVE them!
Hey now, I know I saw it move!
Thanks to Melana too for the kitty food mats!  We appreciate them very much!  Be sure to check out Melana's Etsy shop to see her beautiful work!

We hope you have lots to be thankful for today too!

PeeS:  We're sorry for the not so great quality of these photos but there was no way we were going to wait until there was more light out so we had to open them at night.

Working Weekend

Our sisfur Sadie was the resident model of most things around here so now the task has fallen on my sisfur Isabella and me.  Unfortunately Isabella sleeps contemplates new ideas so much that I'm the one Mommy comes to for modeling.  She wanted me to model a journal but I made her come to my turf - the cat tree - but then I got distracted by the Birdie Network...
Of course when you watch TV you think of snacks...
For some reason she wasn't pleased with my modeling but I bet it doesn't stop her from trying again!

Hope you have a model purrfect day!
Angel

PeeS:  Our friend Erika from ArtfulRising has been graciously helping Mommy make journals for her shop but recently Mommy got all the equipment to make journals herself so she made this one all by herself with tons of help from Daddy!  We are very grateful to Erika for all her help (and to Daddy for his help too)!  We aren't allowed to help make journals since it involves sharp objects and paper that isn't supposed to be wrinkled or laid on.  Have you ever heard of such paper? Yeah, we didn't think so.

Thankful Thursday

Hello everybuddy!  I just wanted to check in to let you know that I'm doing alright.  I have my moments (okay, a lot of moments!) when all I want to do is sleep and I'm still not eating much but I still go outside to guard the yard from neighbor cats...
Coast is clear so time to go back inside for another nap...
I want to thank everybuddy who's commented, emailed or asked about me on Facebook.  There's no way to say how much your words of support means to me and my family.  My mommy is still having a tough time with this so she's very grateful for the thoughts and prayers too.   I know she's scared but I'll be okay.  Both Mommy and Daddy have been spending lots of time with me and I've got more kisses than I can count.  We never know what tomorrow will bring so be sure to enjoy every moment of today!

Lots of woos, love and gratitude,
Sadie

Thankful Thursday

I wanted to take another opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to everybuddy who crossed paws, sent purrs and prayers for my surgery yesterday.  I know Mommy is very grateful too because she was beyond worried for me but the vet said my tumor was NOT cancer and the growth on my neck was NOT cancer but I had scratched it so much it had to be removed.  I also got my teeth cleaned so my smile is extra pretty now!  We still don't know why my kidney enzymes were high so we'll monitor it and hope it was a fluke.

When Daddy picked me up I stuck my head out the windows of my Sadie Utility Vehicle (SUV) but by the time I got home, I was pretty tired and pretty annoyed at my kitty sisfurs sniffing me...
My leg bandage had a purple heart on it because I'm so loved!  After I rested for a bit I felt better so Mommy took me outside for some fresh air.  You can see where they stole my furs to remove the tumor..
It upsets Mommy to see this but I lay on it to show her it doesn't hurt me and I'm okay.  Now if only my furs hurry up and grow back!  Anyway, thanks again to everybuddy for your concern!  I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

Hope you know how wonderful we think you are!

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday! Today's lesson is to be grateful for every moment you have. On these unusually cold and snowy days, I'm grateful for every sunbeam that makes it through the clouds!
What are you grateful for today?

Hope you have a Happy Tortie Tuesday!

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday! Today I was sitting here looking out the window, observing and thinking...
I noticed that often we see something that we wish we had or could do. But what we don't see is that it's often way more comfortable where we are than where someone else is sitting...
Today's lesson is to be appreciative of what you have because the seat elsewhere isn't always softer than the one you're already sitting on!

Happy Tortie Tuesday!

Tortie Tuesday!

It's Tortie Tuesday and today's lesson is to be grateful for good furiends and fortune. The reason for the lesson is that we had an absolutely fabulous weekend thanks to some furiends of ours and for that we are extremely grateful. We'll share more about this later this week but let's just say, we had a pawsome time and continue to do so with our fortune (aka toys, toys, toys)!
I also wanted to share that Mommy has decided to donate the proceeds of her sales in her BeadedTail shop this month to a local shelter, SafeHaven Humane Society. The reason is because last Saturday they assisted with the rescue of 45 cats from absolutely horrible, inhumane conditions. The shelter was already at capacity with 60 cats and kittens but they took on the additional care of these rescued cats and kittens. You can read more about these kitties by going to the Safe Haven website or clicking HERE for a local news report and video. It might make your eyes leaky like Mommy's though.

Mommy said that although she's only had 6 sales so far this month, she's going to donate all of her proceeds and also take in a bag of cat food and a bag of kitten food since that food will go directly to nourish the kitties.

Please send your purrayers and cross your paws that all the kitties get well and find the loving furever homes they deserve.

Blog Awards!

I am so excited, happy, humbled, honored, thankful, you name it, to have been nominated for the Brilliant Weblog Premio 2008 award by Casbah Kitten and Rainbows and Sunshine! I was also nominated by HealthNut Wannabee Mom - click here for my earlier post. I've been feeling the pressure to narrow my choices of nominees to pass the award to but I think I've got my choices in order now.

First off, I must admit that Casbah Kitten is one of the blogs that I have to (yes, have to!) check out every day to see what Jelly Bean and Pickles have been up to. In addition to making wonderful kitty toys, and now doggie items, those two are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face with their antics!

I also enjoy reading Rainbows and Sunshine's blog and I always tend to learn something new from her. Both Casbah Kitten and RainbowMom are fellow Etsy for Animals members too!

That being said, here are the rules for the nominees:

1) Add the logo of the award to your blog

2) Add a link to the person who awarded it to you

3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs

4) Add links to those blogs on your blog

5) Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs

Here are my nominees:

Luxor Lux and Silky are gorgeous kitties and it's fun to see what they have been doing.

DZFantasy - She's a very generous blogger and Etsyian who introduces us to other artists on her blog. Plus, she's very talented and makes beautiful fairies and mermaids!

Random Musings About Art & Life You just can't read DancingMooney's blog without liking this wonderful newlywed!

...aka Darzy... Aimee is a very compassionate animal lover and I admire her greatly. Her blog is always interesting and informative.

Tulip's Treasure Box I just met her through the EtsyBloggers team and she is rapidly becoming a favorite blog of mine. I enjoy her posts and her enthusiasm for our team!

PurrPrints: Art, Cats, and Randomness What can I say? I love her art and I love cats and you can find both at her blog!

Yeah, I know, that's only six but after sitting here for nearly an hour trying to figure out who should get that last position, I just say to all those with cat, dog or animal blogs of one kind of another that I drop my Entrecard on, I do stick around and check out your blog and appreciate the smiles you bring to my face!

Thanks again to Casbah Kitten, Rainbows and Sunshine and HealthNut WannaBee Mom for nominating my blog for this award! I appreciate it more than I can say!
