Stroll on Sadieday!

Woo Hoo it's Sadieday!  The bestest day of the week!  I've been waiting all week to go on a stroll today so I hope you're ready!  Leash up your beans, grab your water and let's go!

As you can see we've been having some rain this week but it cleared up just in time for Sadieday!  I hope everybuddy comes out of the woodwork to enjoy the day...

Did you get it?  Woodwork and the deer was by a wood pole.  Ha roo roo!  I crack myself up!  Hey, wait a minute, it is still Sadieday not Caturday - this guy must be confused...

Just make sure he doesn't follow us home Mommy...

Speaking of home, we need to get going but I'm going to do a little off-roading before I get there...

Fursday Review

It's obvious that I'm a natural beawooty but for some reason Mommy doesn't think my furs all over the house is that beawootiful.  Yeah, I know, she's silly.  Anyway, I absolutely hate being brushed but awhile back we had the opportunity to try a FURminator and although I only tolerate it for 43.6 seconds, Mommy is able to get a lot of loose furs from my gorgeous, thick husky coat during that little time. 

Well, unbeknownst to me, Mommy was contacted by the FURminator people again to try out their new at-home grooming tool line.  These are a 2-Step Grooming Process which encourages brushing first to detangle and smooth fur and combing second to smooth and extract debris, mats and tangles.  She answered some questions about my furs and the tools showed up in the mail.  Step 1's Slicker Brush looked a little intimidating...

Step 2's Curry Comb didn't look so bad.  I think I can get away from handle this one...

I agreed to let her attempt to try these things out on me but she'd have to catch me first...

Mommy, since you're the one who agreed to this, why don't you try it out on yourself!

She didn't go for that and she eventually caught me and you know what, it wasn't so bad.  I don't know how those FURminator people do it but their brushes really work...

The Slicker Brush didn't take out as much fur as the regular FURminator does but it was sure easy to use and tolerate - even by somebuddy who hates brushing like me.  The Curry Comb didn't work all that well but we don't know if that was because 1) my furs are so thick; 2) the teeth of the comb weren't very thick or 3)  I didn't sit still long enough to give it a good try.  Regardless, don't I look beawootiful even with less fur...

The 2-Step Grooming Process seems to be made for furs that aren't as thick as husky fur but regardless, the brush did work on me but the comb, not so much.  We do appreciate that FURminator has great tools that work without a lot of time, effort or drama for both me and my kitty sisfurs.

Helping or Not...

I've been helping Mommy with tax returns all year long yet this weekend I went to help her make jewelry and she started saying odd words like "no", "get down" and "don't".  What the heck do those words mean?

I decided to just keep an eye on her from afar since she's acting all weird...

Humans are so hard to figure out sometimes.  Good thing I'm ALWAYS cute, helpful and, well, angelic...

Even if I'm not always appreciated like I should be.

Decisions, Decisions...

We had a committee meeting today and decided that we're going to take Sundays off and just let Sadie have extended Sadiedays unless we have some breaking news to report sometime. 

Since I agreed to the deal, do I get my kiss now Sadie?

In case you're wondering where Angel is, well, she overslept today...

We're hoping to sleep in on Sundays now too.   Thanks for understanding!

It's such a beautiful weekend in our neck of the woods. My kitty sisfurs are getting fresh air whiffs through the open windows and home and I'm enjoying the fresh air on the neighborhood trails...

Looks like the deers are out enjoying the fresh air too...

Or maybe they're just enjoying my stunning beaWOOty...

I'm sure that's it. Anyway, it's time to start heading back home. I try to waste as much time as I can to make the trip home last longer. Hey Mommy, look at that, uh, thing over there...

 Well, that didn't go as planned...

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!

The Day After...

Yesterday was the first day after tax season so we were looking forward to doing something fun with Mommy but you know what she did? She cleaned out a drawer where she's been sticking stuff for 3 1/2 months! Wanna know what I think of that...
What's the fun in cleaning out drawers?
Oh, wait a minute...something moved... Hey Bella, these things were in the drawer so long they became infested with wiggly worms!
Sadie, you better not scare the wiggly worms away with your big snooter...
Do those cats not realize that's paper, not wiggly worms? They're weird.
We sure can't wait to see what today brings.

Wordless Wednesday - From the Archives

Tortie Tuesday on Tax Day!

Yay it's Tortie Tuesday and it's also Tax Day! We had to help Mommy work an extra day this year since yesterday was the Emancipation holiday in Washington, DC so the whole country got an extra day to invest in their IRAs and to file their taxes today...
But now it's time to get back to normal around here. One of the things Mommy doesn't like about tax season is that so many things get put on hold because she's working so much. My wise Tortie advice is that life is too short to be put on hold! I even convinced Mommy that it's okay to take a cake decorating class she's always wanted to and she listened! Here's her first cake that she made last Thursday:
She said it was more stressful than a 6 hour tax return but she did have fun. We love the buttercream frosting and can't wait for the next 8 weeks of cakes!
Huh, what's that Mommy? Why are the next cakes going to Daddy's work? Can we at least have some frosting?

Anyway, today's lesson is: Life is too short, enjoy the frosting!
If there's something you've always wanted to do - do it!
