Another Day with Sadie!

As I was showing you around my backyard the other day, I mentioned that my friend, I.O., lives on the other side of this fence. We don't see each other very often because these boards come between us.
Here is a picture of I.O. posing for my Mommy. All the neighbors are afraid of him cause he's so tall but Mommy and Daddy aren't afraid of him because he's really a softie.
He has a brother named Truman but he isn't as "vocal" about greeting me as I.O. is. My Mommy thinks Truman's a sweetie but of course not as sweet as me!
Well, I hope you liked meeting my neighbors and having a break from so many days of cats!

Several people asked the other day what I am "mixed" with. Mommy says I'm mixed with love but that's because we don't know for sure. I'm more of an Alaskan Husky but beyond I don't know. In case you weren't reading our blog way back when, here's a post where Mommy talked about me becoming a part of our family.
As noted in our previous backyard post, these photos were taken this week so yes, the grass is green year round in the Pacific Northwest and never goes brown and dormant. It makes up for the dreary, rainy days we have pretty often.

Spending time with Sadie!

Okay, there have been way too many days of cats on this blog so today I'm taking over! We're going to spend time in my backyard that is just for me!
Since there are no cats allowed in my yard, I always have to make sure the neighbor cat isn't hiding out in these bushes. She has a bell on her collar so is pretty easy to find.
What Mommy? What are you wanting me to notice?
Oh, yeah I see that your flowers are coming up already! I'll try not to walk all over them this year.
Once again, Mommy stops and takes a picture of the view. Boring!
My friend, I.O., lives on the other side of this fence. I'll get Mommy to take his picture and show you on Saturday! Stay tuned! In case anyone is wondering, these pictures were taken this week so it is true that our grass is green year round in the Pacific Northwest. Makes the winters much more bearable until it comes time to start mowing in February when it's raining all the time!

Tortie Tuesday!

Today's lesson is in Tortieness is to make sure your beans always wonder what you are looking at.
And be sure to always master the innocent look when they question why you are staring at the wall.

Mommy, rather than working, wouldn't you rather see my lovely silhouette?
How about this view?
What do you mean I'm in your way?

More Sunday Resting Up and Catching Up

We love sleeping in on Sundays (actually we love sleeping in every day)!
Mommy, what'd you wake me up for?
While I try to go back to sleep, Mommy you need to do some more catching up this Sunday since you once again are a slacker!
************************************************
Okay, Mom bean here! I need to take some time and recognize some wonderful bloggers who gave me awards or tagged me recently.

Beadin by the Sea tagged me a few weeks ago but it's taken me that long to figure out what to say! She is a very talented jewelry designer who recently moved from my home state of Kansas to my new neck of the woods - the Pacific Northwest. I'm supposed to give six random things about myself but I don't really know what to say but here it goes anyway!

1) I was named from a piece of mail. My mom and dad had a name already picked out for me but my dad worked in the post office and one day he saw the name Sharla on a piece of mail so went home and told my mom and hence, I am now Sharla and not someone else!

2) I am terrified of snakes but have had a python on my shoulders. When I was around 10 or so I was at one of those sportsmans/outdoor adventure type shows and they were letting people put a python on their shoulders and then taking their picture. I have no idea how this became a good idea but I did it. I nearly passed out from fear while the guy left the snake on me while my dad paid for the picture. Not one of my most favorite moments!

3) I've bottle fed a tiger. In Colorado there is a furniture store that used tigers in their commercials and they brought "baby" tigers to their Fort Collins store for, once again, people to pay to have their pictures taken with them. My husband and I did this and the "baby" was so big it fit across both of our laps. I bottle fed the tiger while our picture was taken and right before it scratched me!

4) I cannot stand to touch a fish. I will touch worms and minnows but never, ever will I touch a fish! Ewww!

5) I can understand Spanish but can't speak it very well. Not sure why I have a mental block when it comes to saying the words but I can understand the majority of what I hear.

6) I love HGTV! What can I say?

If you want to play along, consider yourself tagged!

Now onto the awards...
Tialey Vintage Clothing and Split Rock Ranch Llamas nominated me for the Lemonade award. Both of these blogs have become my must visits on Entrecard so be sure to check them out! Thank you both so much for passing this award to me!
Cindy from Sew Happy Designs is a fellow Etsy Angels and Pluggers United team mate and just an all around wonderful person! She has a great sense of humor and she never fails to make me smile! She awarded me the Sisterhood award and I'm honored to receive it! Thank you sew much Cindy!

Stroll with Sadie!

It's time for another stroll with me! Mommy and Daddy went with me and kept telling me to stay on the trail. Don't they know I have to smell all the pee-mail in the grass?
Mommy always likes to stop to see the view of the valley. Pretty boring if you ask me.
Uh oh, I have a feeling we're not alone!
See, I told you!
This way! Hurry up!
There it is, it's a deer! I'd chase it but those things on its head look like they'd hurt.
Hope you enjoyed the stroll with me. Enjoy your Saturday!

Snoopervising is hard work!

Since Mommy works from home and she's really busy this time of year, we have to snoopervise everything she does to make sure she stays on track. We always make sure her chair is warm and comfy for her.
We make sure her computer is putting off adequate heat.
We have to make sure the printer is working properly.
Snoopervising is just plain exhausting!

Sunday Resting Up and Catching Up

We're on our pillows enjoying a nap while getting ready to watch football today. Or maybe we'll just sleep right through the games. Mommy was tagged and received several awards last week. We didn't realize she hadn't posted them so while we're napping, we're making her take care of business. So Mommy, please take over...
******************************************************
I'm pretty tardy in getting these posted and I apologize for that. First I want to start with this tag from Karen at Zemeks blog which is the very first meme tag I've received. It's the "Have You Ever?" meme so here goes...

1. Have you ever been on TV? Not to my knowledge I haven't.

2. Have you ever sung in public? Just in school programs but even then I didn't sing very loud so not sure anyone heard me!

3. Have you ever dyed your hair blond? Only a few highlights here and there but never totally.

4. Have you ever eaten frog legs? Not that I'm aware of but I remember being at a cabin in the Ozarks as a kid where my dad and some friends of my parents went out on midnight frog hunts so I know I was around frog legs but I sure don't remember eating any myself.

5. Have you ever received a present that you really hated? I've received presents that I didn't like but don't think I really hated any. My likes are too well known - get me anything with cats or dogs on it and I'm happy!

6. Have you ever walked into a lamppost? No, not yet!

7. Have you ever cooked a meal by yourself for more than 15 people? I don't think I've cooked a meal for more than 2 people - I hate to cook!

8. Have you ever fallen or stumbled in front of others? Oh yeah, I'm good at this. Usually only my husband sees me though since it happens most often on forest trails!

9. Have you ever done volunteer work? Yes, although not as much as I'd like. Most recently we helped box up and later hand out those boxes of food for the community food drive over the holidays. After tax season I plan on signing up to volunteer to take books to people who can't make it to the library for one reason or another. I love to read and want to help others be able to have access to the books they want to read also.

Now on to some wonderful awards I received last week.
I received this lovely award from TiLT Creations. She is a talented Etsyian that makes beautiful bags and accessories. Her blog is one of my daily visits because I always learn something and enjoy her posts very much. Be sure to visit her blog and you'll see why! This is what she said about me when giving me this award that just made my day:

"I'd like to pass this award on to...well, there are too many to name...so for now I will pass it on to someone who finds friends beyond just people and goes out of her way to help the furry friends...Beaded Tail- she also makes great jewelry..."
***********************************************************
I received this Friendship Flower Award from Hannah Fanna from The Big Hannah Montana Fan blog. She has a fun blog and is an animal lover which makes her tops in my book! Hannah, I appreciate this award very much!
*********************************************************
Abby from Simply Charming in SC gave me this "Fab" award! I just recently discovered Abby's blog but it quickly became one of my favorites. It's obvious from her blog that she has a huge heart and she is also a very talented jewelry designer. Thank you for the award Abby!
***********************************************************
Hot Rocks awarded me this Noblesse Oblige Award which is a very special award for blogs that have these attributes:

1. The Blogger manifests exemplary attitude, respecting the nuances that pervades amongst different cultures and beliefs.
2. The Blog contents inspire; it strives to encourage and offers solutions.
3. There is a clear purpose at the Blog; one that fosters a better understanding on Social, Political, Economic, the Arts, Culture and Sciences, and Beliefs.
4. The Blog is refreshing and creative.
5. The Blogger promotes friendship and positive thinking.

I am honored to receive this award and I hope I live up to those standards. I try to promote animal awareness issues through my blog and have made it a goal for 2009 to do so even more. I hope to do a small part in making this world a better place for animals and people alike. Thank you so much for this award!
********************************************************
Last but not least, I received the Sisterhood award from Lily at Tulips Talking. Lily is a very special friend who inspires me in more ways than she knows. She is a extremely talented jewelry designer and also has the most caring heart for people and furbabies alike. I am truly blessed to be able to call her my friend! Lily, thank you so much for everything!

Thank you all so much for the awards! I sincerely appreciate each one! And thanks Karen for the meme tag - it was fun! I was also tagged by Beadin by the Sea but am still trying to figure out random things about me so will post that one at a later date. Thanks again everyone! Have a great Sunday!
