Waiting on Wednesday...

We are spending our days looking out the window and waiting. We just can't wait for the mail to come with our new cat toys from CasbahKitten! Mommy placed a big order for us since she's feeling guilty for going to Vegas without us. Oh, yeah, we're of course waiting for Mommy to come home tomorrow too but a kitty has to play you know!

Hotsy Totsy Tuesday!

Okay, well maybe it's not "hotsy, totsy" where you are but I'm at my mom's in Las Vegas and it's certainly plenty "hotsy, totsy" for me. Anything about 90 degrees is above my comfort zone and 100 certainly surpasses it! At least my furbabies have been blogging up a storm for me while I've been here at my mom's. I can only imagine what bad habits Daddy is teaching them! (or vice versa I suppose!)

My mom is also a beader so yesterday we did what beaders do, we spent a very long time in a bead store! They have huge bead stores here in Vegas and it was visually overwheming with thousands of bead strands hanging on all walls and tables and more tables of little bins filled with thousands of more beads. I took some pictures - right before one of the employees caught me and said "uhm, no, we do not allow pictures taken of our store!". So, shhh, don't tell!

I had a headache from optical overload but it was a lot of fun and we found some great beads that will be showing up in new creations very soon!

My mom also wanted me to post pictures of her dog, Samy. She even put his bandana on him for his pictures! Hopefully Isabella, Angel and Sadie won't mind sharing the spotlight for today!

I want to thank Twenty Pound Tabby and Advice On Assisted Living for giving me the I ♥ Your Blog award! It means so much to me to have readers enjoy my blog so receiving awards still make me jump with joy! Thank you both very much! I appreciate it more than I can say! I have recently passed this award on so at this time, I will not be announcing my nominees but will certainly pass it on in the future.

Our Day with Daddy!

Since Mommy is in Las Vegas, we are enjoying our time with Daddy. Yesterday we watched football although I can't tell you what Daddy said about his KC Chiefs!

Sadie played ball.

Then we got Temptations before bed. Daddy said he'd give us Temptations every night as long as we don't tell Mommy the new words we learned during the football game!
Hope Mommy is having as much fun in Las Vegas as we are home with Daddy! Mommy wanted us to remind you that the Etsy for Animals Birthday Bash sale started today. We want everyone to have sales so lots of animals can be helped! Click here for more information!

Mom went to Las Vegas - without us!

Mommy went to our Grandma's in Las Vegas so we are home alone with Daddy. We have him wrapped around our paws but we still don't like it when Mommy is gone. Isabella tried to sneak in her suitcase. Doesn't she look sad?

She even sat on things Mommy wanted to pack but that didn't work either.

Sadie gave her sad face but that didn't work either.

I pulled out all the stops!
But, Mommy went anyway. She said she had to visit her own Mom plus they are going to make more jewelry for their BeadedTail shop. Since they help other kitties and even doggies with what they make in their shop then I suppose it's okay. She'll be home on Thursday. It's going to be an interesting with Daddy though!

Buttons and more!

During one of our weekly Etsy for Animals chat meetings, I won a prize which happened to be a button pendant from ButtonDivas. I was unfamiliar with her shop so I contacted her to let her know I was the winner. She asked if I'd like a pendant made with my own dog rather than one already made in her shop. I sent her the link to a blog post with this picture of Sadie and I was just so impressed with what she made for me, I just had to share!
She made this 1 inch (U.S. quarter size) button out of the picture on my blog! Isn't it adorable? It's a button with a plastic insert in the back making it into a pendant.

Recently I was lucky enough to win another prize from ButtonDivas in one of our EFA meetings but this time it was a promo pack for our BeadedTail shop. I sent her the following picture:
She made it into the following five 1 inch pinback buttons and five 1 inch magnets. I'm very happy with how they turned out! I love how she gave the eyes and beaded necklace color!

Check out ButtonDivas' shop for pinback buttons, magnets, pendants, earrings, pocket mirrors, keychains or several other choices with your picture choice or one of her wonderful pre-made choices! She has various sizes to choose from so you're sure to find something just right!

Furrends!

Isabella and Angel snuggled like this and were BFF for awhile. Now, not so much although they do have their lovey dovey moments which I suppose is the same with any siblings.

Blogging Friends, on the other hand, are a joy every day and this week I was honored to receive two BFF awards - yes two! I am always thrilled when I receive awards for my blog since it means people are coming and sharing a little piece of my world and for that, I'm honored!

I must thank LOL Cats - Smokey-n-Tiger and also Everyday Living for passing this award along to me! I visit both of their blogs daily and am appreciative that they enjoy visiting mine also!

The rules are:
1. Only five people allowed.
2. Four have to be dedicated followers of your blog.
3. One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog and live in another part of the world.
4. You must link back to whoever gave you the award.

Now that the rules are stated, I will state that I only completed #4. I've been sitting here for an hour trying to decide who to give it to and can't decide because I've nominated quite a few blogs recently for awards and also, there is just too many to choose from!

Just know, for those that I do daily EC drops on and/or comment on, I go to your blog because I'm interested in what you post and enjoy what you have to say. It would be difficult to narrow all those blogs down to 5. I've also been meeting wonderful people around the globe so I could never pick one. I am very appreciative of everyone who stops by my blog every day so this BFF award goes to YOU!

One of my Favorite Etsy Purchases

This post is from my archives back several months ago when I was just getting started on this blog. I thought I would re-post it since I just love my print so much so I want to introduce this Etsy seller to others. Enjoy!

I recently purchased this fantastic print from dogartstudio on Etsy (the photo is from his shop listing). The artist is Ron Krajewski and he captures the essense of all the animals incredibly. He'll also do commissions of your pets, the information is in his profile on Etsy.

I really liked this print online and absolutely love it in person. I just got it framed and can't wait to hang it. If you are looking for a cat or dog print, be sure to check out his shop!

Here's a picture of our cat Isabella who looks like she could have been the model for this print, which is of course why I bought it!

I ♥ Your Cats award!

I received the most fantastic award today - the I ♥ Your Cats award from PurrPrints! I was one of the 7 initial recipients to ever receive this award since she created it using her very own beautiful artwork! I absolutely love cats so this award means a lot to me - although I think it's Isabella and Angel's cuteness that is the reason for the award! Either way, I'm extremely honored to be chosen!

The rules are that I am to award it to up to 7 more blogs. That's where it gets tough for me! I ♥ every cat blog that I've come across!

I'm afraid I'm going to leave someone out but I do want to acknowledge a blog that I just recently came across and am enjoying getting to know very much, Mickey's Musings. Mickey, Tillie and Georgia are adorable kitties and Georgia happens to look a lot like my Isabella!

I also want to acknowledge Casbah Kitten, Chica and Pumuckl, Daisy, Luxor, Friends Furever, Willow and Gandolf and Grayson. All of these cat blogs bring a smile to my face and several chuckles every day. There are many more EC friends that I drop on that I ♥ too and each one is just as deserving of this award!

As my dog Sadie just reminded me, I ♥ dogs too!

I've Been Tagged!

A fellow EtsyBlogger, HBIC, tagged me yesterday! I hadn't heard of this game before but she researched the rules and found that it consists of listing 5 unusual things about yourself and tagging 5 others. She actually listed 7 unusual things about herself but I'm not sure I can come up with that many - at least not that I want to admit to! Okay, here goes!

1) I hate to cook but I love to bake. Cooking stresses me out so much because nothing is done at the same time! Argh! Good thing that hubby loves to cook - he says it relaxes him (which makes no sense to me) and he's an excellent cook (really!) so it all works out. He actually doesn't like to bake so we're perfect for each other!

2) I absolutely can't stand the taste or smell of coffee. Yuck!

3) I can't put the trademark curly Q on the top of a Dairy Queen ice cream cone. My first job was at a Dairy Queen in Topeka, KS when I was 14 years old and I was fired after one day because I couldn't do the Q. Well, that and I stocked every inch of freezer space they had with pre-packed quarts from all the ice cream I used trying to make the Q! I've tried through the years at various ice cream machines to do the Q but it always ends up flat as a pancake.

4) I root for the calf that gets away at the rodeo. When hubby and I lived in Colorado we went to a rodeo and I was the only one in the entire crowd who cheered when the calf got away. A sea of cowboy hats turned my direction but it didn't stop me. Needless to say, I've never been to another rodeo.

5) I must have color on my walls. I enjoy painting interior walls, well maybe not the entire process, but I love how paint transforms the mood of a room with each pass of the roller and I certainly love the result. White walls are definitely not for me. I came about this honestly - my mom is the same way!

Okay, five is all I can come up with so that'll have to do. I'm going to do the tagging part a little differently though by making the participation in this game voluntary. I'm hoping at least 5 other people will want to play along. If so, please say so in the comments to this post and I will add your blog link on this post so others can visit you.

I hope you'll want to play along!

****UPDATE****

I have four volunteers so far to play along with the tag game!
PurrPrints
Casbah Kitten
Tulip's Treasure Box

Feel free to join in - let me know in the comments and I'll add your link!

All About Purple!

I am a member of the EtsyBloggers street team and twice a month the members are asked to blog about their choice between two options. This event is called a Blog Carnival.

The choices for this Carnival are to blog about a contest or challenge I was in or how my favorite color is incorporated in my work. As is obvious from the title of this post, I chose to blog about my favorite color and how it is used in my work. Since I am new to the team, this will be my very first EtsyBloggers Blog Carnival!

Since my favorite color is purple and I love animals, I tend to mix the two quite a bit when creating new pieces for our shop. I love cat's eye beads so it's only natural that I'd make this Purrple Kitty bracelet currently in our shop.

I also used the purple cat's eye beads to make these sweet and simple Purple Passion earrings. And I also used purple cloisonne butterfly beads in this Purple Cat's Eye Butterfly Bracelet.

Now you know a little more about my favorite color and how I incorporate it into our shop. My mom is my shop partner and she's also created many lovely purple items too. Click here to see everything purple that we have listed in our BeadedTail shop!

Happy Sadieday!

Just checking in to make sure you have a wonderful SADIEday!

Etsy For Animals 1st Birthday Bash - 20% off (and not just in our shop!)

From September 15-30, Etsy For Animals (EFA) will be celebrating their 1st birthday and over 150 fantastic Etsy shops will be offering 20% off (excluding shipping)! Click here for a list of the participants from the EFA website. Our shop, BeadedTail, will be among those participating! To get 20% off, just enter our coupon code, BEADS, and shop, shop, shop! You can use the code in ALL participating shops, however, the code is good just once per shop so be sure to get everything you want at that time.

All you have to do to use the coupon is put "EFA birthday bash coupon code BEADS" in the notes to seller for ANY participating shop
and then either wait for a revised invoice or pay and get a refund. There are different codes for every shop in order to keep track of who brings the most people to the sale, so if I'm the first person you've heard about this sale from, then please use my code in any participating shop but if you got someone else's code first, then use theirs. Be sure to pass my code on to anyone else you know who might enjoy this sale. If you have questions, feel free to send me an Etsy conversation at any time!

Mark your calendars and be sure to check out the great shops of the EFA members and find wonderful things for you, your family, your pets and don't forget holiday gifts!

Labor Day

In honor of our holiday, Labor Day, the furbabies are going to show how to celebrate work (or lack thereof) throughout the year, not just one day. Relax in a nice comfy office chair.

Take a snooze on the (not as comfy) desk.

Nap on the printer.

Get in a siesta or two on a comfy bed.

And by all means, get plenty of rest after putting in a long, tough day at work!

Sunday Award!

Today I logged on to discover that my blog was awarded the I ♥ Your Blog award by Chica & Pumuckl! How exciting is that? I'm always thrilled that people read my blog, let alone nominate it for an award so I'm very appreciative and happy to receive it! Chica & Pumuckl are two Egyptian cats that just recently moved to Germany. Their blog is filled with photos of these two sweet kitties and tales of their adjustment to Germany. I love reading blogs about pets and I certainly read theirs every day!

Anyway, here's the rules for the recipients of this wonderful award:

1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog;
2. Link the person you received your award from;
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs;
4. Put links of those blogs on yours; and
5. Leave a message on the blogs that you’ve nominated.

I recently nominated blogs to receive the Brilliante award so I'll choose different ones for this award since it's already known that I ♥ those previous recipients. Here are my nominations to receive this award from me:

EtsyBloggers Featured Seller of the Month - Tulips Treasure Box

I recently joined the EtsyBloggers team and am enjoying getting to know some of the wonderful members of this team and I'm also figuring all the different ways in which to participate in this team. One of the things this team does for each other is to feature a different seller every month. The featured seller for the month of August is TulipsTreasure Box. I've already introduced Tulip's blog to my readers when I recently nominated her blog for the Brilliante Weblog Premio award but now I'd like to show you some of the beautiful items she creates and sells on Etsy.

Be sure to check out Tulips Treasure Box and shop handmade!
