Weekend Wrap-up

Our mommy is taking over the blog today to tell us about her craft show this weekend but be sure to tune in tomorrow for a Tortie Telling Tuesday and we'll fill you in on what happened at home while mommy was gone. She doesn't know about it yet and we really don't want her to know but we'll tell you tomorrow! Anyway, we'll turn the blog over to mommy for today only...

I participated in my very first craft show this weekend at Village Green Gardens in Cottage Grove, OR. I think I slept about 4 hours Friday night in anticipation of the show and woke up to this sight from my home office (I don't usually see sunrises as I prefer to be sleeping at that time of day)!

Anyway, I was asked to be in this show by a fellow Etsyian, Michelle from SissySoap. She and her sister Maranda were there with their soap and had extra space so let me show my BeadedTail jewelry there. Here's my display:

Saturday was overcast and rainy but Sunday was sunny, 70 degrees and gorgeous! We had a great time, had a lot of lookers, several buyers and tons of compliments! In addition to selling, I also took an opportunity to check out the gardens and other sights, which were gorgeous.

The flowers were beautiful!

And the dogs were adorable!

I also did a little shopping and I also found this bag that I tried really, really hard to resist but I just couldn't. It is just so cute that I HAD to have it! Sadie checked it over to see if it moo'd.

Angel asked "Got milk?".

We had a great weekend and now I've caught the craft show bug! I learned a lot this weekend and hope to do more shows this fall. Thanks so much to Michelle and Maranda for letting me "tail" along! I appreciate it!

Tortie Tuesday!

Isabella says today is Tortie Tuesday! In other words, all kitties are an honorary tortie today so get to display an extraordinary amount of Catitude!

In addition, I want to give a shout out to DancingMooney! She is a talented jewelry artisan as well as a wonderful soap maker on Etsy whom I had the pleasure of meeting last Friday at a local craft show. She is one of the first Etsyians that I met when we opened shop last December and she happens to live in a town not far from me. I have been keeping tabs on her through her blog and also checking out new additions to her shop. Since she mentioned she was going to be at the craft show not far from here, I had to take that opportunity to go meet her in person and I'm sure glad I did! She is such a sweetie and if you read her blog you just can't help but like her. Being the handmade soap addict that I am, I bought some of her soap - it's smells as fantastic as it looks in the picture!

More Reasons Why I Love Etsy!

I finally did it - I finally tried out some of the handmade soaps and lotions offered on Etsy. I was warned in advance that I'd be hooked and, well, I'm hooked!! Here's what I bought on my little soap spree:

This Fresh Cut Grass soap by aBreathofFrenchAir was the first to arrive. I had read her blog where she discussed making this soap and when she listed it in her shop I had to try it and boy, am I glad I did! It smells so fresh and the shea butter is wonderful! I've recently purchased other soap from her and can't wait to try it out!







I also wanted to try handmade lotions so I bought a sampler pack of five of shea butter lotions from BL Soaps. I thought it'd make it easier to pick a favorite by having choices but they all smell so wonderful and are light and non-greasy too. I guess if I had to pick it'd be Lilac or Jasmine, no maybe Pink Silk, can't forget about Vixen and Temptress! I guess I have five favorites!


I bought other soaps from Etsy sellers but haven't had a chance to try those out yet. I'll report on those in a future post about the reasons I love Etsy.

Oh, by the way, we are in another treasury! Sam McLean Designs put our Orange-Red Cat's Eye Animal Awareness Bracelet in a treasury of some of her Flickr friends! It's a great honor and was a thrill to find this morning in Treasury West!
