Yay it's Sadieday and today we're going on a Field Trip! It's going to be a big day so let's get a move on! We're going to Marys Peak and will be on a narrow trail with a steep drop off so make sure your mommy stays on leash so she doesn't go tumbling over the edge.
The trees are really tall so let's stop a moment...
and take in the view...
Now we've come above the trees...
From up here we can see the Willamette Valley and Cascade mountains to the east...
and the Pacific Ocean on the horizon to the west...
and one really cute husky - ME!
Okay, I know this is Sadieday and not Caturday but we actually met a cat (yes, a cat!) on the way down from the summit of Marys Peak. The cat's name is Freak (seriously) and she was walking her dad on his leash. He carried her when I came close though but of course Mommy stopped to talk to them and pet Freak.
Mommy found out that Freak loves to go on hikes and she also loves to go to the ocean and even gets in the waves two or three times before she gets too cold and wants to come out. Do you know anybody else who loves to go on hikes and to the ocean and who is exceptionally cute?
Yep, this is Sadieday no matter how Sadie-like that Freak may be!

Be sure to come back tomorrow to see what happens after we head home from our hike!

Beautiful scenery. I think the best was the cute husky though :) That was very nice of Freak and her dad to pose for your moms camera. She just looks too cute to be named Freak. Have a great Sadieday

And how cool to meet a CAT out hiking! But you're right, it's Sadie day and that's all about the cutest husky in the state!!

What a super hike, and lovely views. Mm is very curious about how that man trained Freak to enjoy hikes and such. I hate having a harness on, let alone a leash. Maybe she IS a bit of a freak. But a very cute one.

Wow Sadie, that was the best stroll of all We love the tall trees and especially the views of the mountains and the ocean. That really is a gorgeous place. What fun to meet Freak and what a wonderful Dad to take her on hikes. I had a cat once that would go on hikes with me. It was so neat. I didn't put a leash on him, he just went with me everytime I went for a walk. We were always on the property where I lived. I was lucky enough to live on a huge plantation for 20 years. Have a great day.

What a great field trip Sadie! Thanks so much for letting us tag along to see the beautiful scenery. I don't think I've ever heard of a cat that likes the ocean before (do you think maybe that's what inspired the name? :o)

You sure have some beautiful scenery around you Sadie ~ you are one lucky pup!

How cute that Freak the kitty loves to go on hikes and to take a dip in the Ocean! I wonder what would happen if you took your sisters out for a stroll with you? Do you suppose they would want to dip their toes in the ocean too? :)

I look forward to tomorrow's post sweet Sadie!

Hi Sadie! Boy you had quite the adventure going up the mountain! How neat to meet a hiking, ocean loving kitty. We would NEVER do that! Of course, it's not like we would ever get the opportunity...

We can't wait to see what happens tomorrow! Woohoo! Two Sadie days this week.

A hiking cat??! Cool find, Sadie!! I love that guy (the cat, I mean). Hobbes is gonna be jealous when I tell him about that!

Good hike, Sadie. Thanks for the workout!

Word Verif: dogmett. How ironic. As in "My dogmett a super cool kitty today!"

Wow, those are very tall trees, nothing like we see around here. A cat that likes to be on a leash AND likes to go in the water????? Are you sure that wasn't a lab with a cat costume on?:)

Sadie you are one lucky dog to live in just a beautiful area! And a cat that likes oceans and hiking? Sounds pretty freaky to me! Maybe you could inspire your furry sisters to go with you next time?

That is awesome scenery! What a brave kitty Freak is too! We saw a deer on our walk today and Abby didn't even bark at it!

She did pull me into the mud though when she went for a squirrel in the woods. I didn't see the mud or I wouldn't have let her pull me!

Hey, Sadie - it looks like you so thoroughly enjoyed your hike!I wanted to take a few of my indoor-only cats for a walk but one of them totally freaked when I went to put a collar or a harness on her. Oh well. I guess she will have to enjoy everything from the window.

For other folks (all kitties and doggies are people to me) reading this, check out my blog. It has stories and information helpful for cat caretakers everywhere.

All you sweet pets, stay well!

Sadie, that is a fabulous hike! Are you on the Oregon Coast Trail? Freak is the purrfect name for that freakish cat--unbelievable! I met someone once who took his cat for a walk around the block on a leash. But a cat who plays in the waves?--amazing!
Oh, and PS, Sadie, yes, you ARE cute!

We love following your tail down the trail, hahameow. We'd be scared of the outdoors unless we had an All Terrain Stroller. Freaks owner looks like the guy from Fat Freddy's Cat...
