Long Weekend Wrap Up

We had quite the weekend around here! We made sure Mommy had the purrfect long birthday weekend beginning on Thursday when Daddy took her to her most favorite place on the Oregon coast - Cape Lookout...
She loves how the super tall trees and rocky cliffs go right down to the wide sandy beach. So, good for Daddy for kicking the weekend off right! Her birthday on Friday was great too but it rained on Saturday so Isabella discussed what to do to keep the good things happening...
I decided to help Mommy make a beach glass bracelet for herself. I thought it'd be fun for her to start her squizillion and seventh year off with change so I told her to randomly choose beads to use for her bracelet. Well, sometimes change isn't so good. Our CPA too much left brain perfectionist Mommy nearly had a panic attack trying to be random! Each silver and beach glass bead is different in each row but she survived and I think it turned out okay...
The rain ended in time for Mommy to make another change on Saturday - she attended her first Oregon state fair plus she attended her first country music concert with Daddy and her friend Laura. She doesn't listen to country music so she and Daddy were the only two in the audience who didn't know the songs but Gary Allan did put on a good show...
Before the concert, the two ladies in front of them took elebenty hundred selfies so Mommy kept leaning to the left or right trying to stay out of their pics. Well, since this is the year of change, Mommy decided to be silly and starting waving in the pics. At first the ladies didn't notice but when they did, they found it funny so they took this pic with Mommy (in black) and Laura (the innocent bystander)...
Yesterday we finished up a necklace to go with the blingy No-No bracelet from last week but mostly we relaxed and savored the remaining weekend. We're not sure how much more change Mommy can handle this year but we'll see. At least she enjoyed her birthday and part of that is from your birthday wishes last week so thank you!

What did you do this weekend?

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Always Searching for Fun...

There's never a shortage of things to get into check out around here but sometimes I have to look in unusual places to find them like above me...
I bet I can figure out something fun to do with this light fixture...
I bet it'd swing if I accidently hit it while I'm innocently yawning...
Yep, it swings! I better stop it though before I get caught...
Oops! Too late!
Oh well. Sometimes you just gotta play like no one's watching!

Hope you enjoy something today as if no one's there with a camera watching your every move!

Summer Fun!

The current EtsyBloggers blog carnival hosted by Storybeader asks

"Have you been playing this summer? Did you go on vacation, or stick close to home? Let's see some photographs!".

Well, we first thought the only thing we did this summer was blog and work but after further thought, we did do some fun things this summer. Here's a look at some of our summer fun:

Although we mainly stayed around home, in April we went to San Antonio, TX and visited the Riverwalk and the Alamo. This walkway is just outside the Alamo.
We went to the beach several times.
We enjoyed the sunshine.
We went on hikes.
In July I went to Las Vegas and to see my mom and her dog Samy.
Mainly we've just been relaxing and enjoying the warm (not the hot) summer days!
We are enjoying our summer and hope you've had a great summer so far too!

Tidepooling on the Oregon Coast

There are many things to enjoy on the Oregon coast and tidepooling certainly is a favorite since you never know what you'll find. I took these pictures last fall of some sea creatures in tide pools near Newport, OR which is on the central coast of Oregon.

In downtown Newport along the bay, there are always sea creatures to see, like these sea lions who are always on the docks no matter what time of year. You'll hear them barking the entire time you stroll through the quaint shops enjoying a wonderful day!
