Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday so I decided today would be the purrfect day to return from our short blogcation.  We spent lots of time relaxing over our break but I also was taken to the dreaded v-e-t and they stole my bloods since I have to go have my teefs cleaned and have a cyst removed from my neck.  Anyway, Daddy took me in but I wasn't able to see my regular vet and the one I did see was flat out rude!  Per the scale there I have actually lost 1 lb which is more than we thought so Daddy was very happy but the vet wasn't impressed and said I should have lost more!  She said I was too fat! Then she said my legs were so fat she had a hard time stealing my bloods.  Daddy was taken aback and I was very surprised at her rudeness but obviously she was jealous of my Tortieness...
I am extremely mellow and nothing gets me riled up but I didn't like her at all and wanted Daddy to say something to her but he wouldn't.  He was afraid if he said what he was thinking she'd do something mean to me and he didn't want anything to happen to me.  He did say that I am never, ever going back to that vet unless it's an extreme emergency and nobody else is available.  Anyway, my regular vet called with the test results and my blood work was all good although my thyroid is a little low so we have to watch that.  I'd rather just watch birdies...
Have you ever dealt with a rude vet?  What do your beans do?  Mommy wanted to call her and tell her where to go (she wouldn't tell me where though) but she also worried about retaliation so what's a kitty to do? *sigh*

Hope your Tortie Tuesday is filled with only pleasant things!
Isabella

Oh Miss Isabella, I feel for you !
I have been there and have the same experience as you.." F " word from professional evil v-e-t !!!
I am around 16.3142 - 17.637 Lbs.
Don't make big eyes , Isabella !
I believe I have some genetics of Maine Coons...tee..heh...
Well , Boy should be big enough to protect the GirlCat, I think ; )

Your humans are WAY TOO NICE, Isabella! That vet was RUDE and MEAN! Somebody should have REALLY told her off! If she had been examining Binga, I bet Binga would have tried to bite her!

Ohhh. Mommy has had to deal with unpleasant vets before. Sometimes she'll say something but most times she'll just make it a point not to go back.
We think that Rude Vet said you were fat to try to hide the fact she wasn't very good at stealing your bloods!
Hopefully your low thyroid isn't too much of a concern.

Vets can be so blunt and insensitive sometimes. One said my Spunky Doodle was OBESE! She lost one pound since her last visit and now she is classed as overweight which sounds better than obese. Oh, and they also called her "Chunky Spunky!" It's hard to lose weight. I only give her 1/4 cup of dry food a day.

Yes Isabella some Vets can be very rude. We have two in our area that are really mean, rude and over priced!

I told one of them off. But, I didn't use any bad words.

I think you are beautiful and what's a girl to do with a low thyroid count?

I am so happy you are never going back there!

I am sending one great big hug because you are so lovely and so so sweet!

Oh Isabella, we are so sorry that darn vet was rude. Your Dad was right, need to be careful sometimes. Your legs are NOT fat. That is just nuts. Glad you aren't going back to that not nice lady. Have a better day today.

Isabella,
Losing a whole pound for a little kitty like you is wonderful! Your legs don't look fat at all. We've had rude or not very sharp vets before and we just won't go back--or request to not have that particular vet!

Tell your beans to remember that they are PAYING the vet for a SERVICE. If they are not receiving that service they have every right to lodge a complaint. Are there other vets available? A different practice. I know it is hard to make changes but no one deserved rude service at all and as they say, money talks.

A doctor was rude to me and the male person wrote the practice a letter. The next time I went the doctor APOLOGIZED and I received much better service after that. His letter was just straightforward and without any nastiness. Just explaining why we were upset.

Vets and dentists....all making too much money and it goes to their heads...they think they are above the rest of us. Time to just say straight out....... "No need to be rude...we're on our diet and trying.... it is a little 'slow' .... like many things in life" ... as you look directly into their eyes.... gets 'em every time.

We're sorry you had such a bad experience. We think it is good that you lost a pound!!

Mom had a bad experience once with her Eskimo Dog Katie. The mean VET said Katie should be put down because she got scared and growled when she was boarded! Needless to say, Katie never went back to that place!

Seriously - isn't that sad that we have to be afraid to complain about bad service. Rudeness has no place in a medical facility - cat or human. And yes, I have encountered rude vets - never went back to them.

I would have said something to whomever is in the reception area, then I'd have our babies file tagged that she would not be allowed to ever, ever touch my baby. Then I'd find another vets office and have them as a backup. I'm just saying.

Way to go on that pound. Good work if you ask me.

Have a purrfect day Isabella. My best to your parents. :)

How DARE that vet!!! Do you want me and Dave to come deal with her? We could ... I don't know ... STARE at her and stuff like that. (Sorry, we don't have it in our nature to do much more than that.) Dave could withhold hugs. That would kick it up a notch. Let us know. He could borrow the car keys and drive us out.
Play bows,
Zim
PS: You look GORGEOUS to us and congrats on the pound loss!

That does sound like a rude vet. The ones where Duke go are all pretty nice but there used to be one there before that another dog I had did not like at all.

So sorry that the vet trip was so stressful. :( Having a rude vet is the worst. You are beautiful just the way you are, Isabella!

We're sorry you had to go through that, Isabella. We think you are purrfect...and should have been congratulated for losing the weight you did. Doesn't that vet know how hard it is for us cats to lose weight?? Sheesh!!

I'm sorry about that rude, mean vet! We had one too - never went back. We hope everything goes well with your operation Bella! We love you! Love, Moon xoxo

I'm sure the delivery wasn't very pleasant based on what you reported but she was only concerned for your health. LOTS of vets get so upity about 'ample sized' kittehs and you never know, maybe she was just having a bad day. I'd write off the one visit & stick with your regular vet person.

When our vet told That Woman that Miss Jenga was getting too..er...plump, she was very stern but at the same time That Woman noticed that she had put both hands on Jenga's head and folded her ears down so she wouldn't be offended. That Woman said she should have folded her own ears down if she didn't want to be offended!

Rude vets...Not cool! So sorry you had to deal with that. I would have been like Daddy, though, too scared to say anything for fear of revenge taken out on my loved one!

I'm sorry you had to endure the nasty vet, Isabella. You're such a brave kitty ((hugs)).
Our vet is a tough cookie and all of us are afraid of her! We try not to think about the dreaded visit come May...

Oh my stars! Rude vet indeed! I think losing 1lb is awesome Isabella! I know when Banjo had to lose weight (and you look MUCH slimmer than him), the vet said it had to be very very slowly or you run the risk of other health complications in kitties. It took Banjo close to 4 years to lose 14 pounds. Slowly and safely.

I say 'turn the other furry cheek' on that vet and try not to have to see that one again. Booooo rude vets!

You look beautiful Tortie girl!
