Earth Day 2010

Since today is Earth Day, we thought we'd celebrate some of our favorite things about this Earth like feeling the warm sunshine on my furs while laying on my cute Mickey Mouse ears over the world blankie.
Sadie enjoys the beauty of nature in the backyard and especially on strolls through the forest.
And Angel enjoys munching on homegrown green kitty grass.
We all do our part to go green for the Earth like eating natural foods and playing with CasbahKitten toys made with ecofelt and kitty grown catnip. Mommy and Daddy recycle everything they can and try to make a small carbon footprint. We love this Earth and hope it stays beautiful for many generations to come!

Do you have any tips to go green?

Happy Earth Day to yoo all! Having a compost bin is a good way to start being green ~ then all the grass cuttings and weeds can be recyled into nice compost for the garden.

we like all that stuff too, well except for maybe the cat nip but it's all good :)

Great ideas ladies. When we take Claudia for a walk we take a litter bag with us and Maya picks up trash. We call her the litter Police.

Ahhh, there's nothing like sun on our kitty-furs is there...

We save on electricity. In the warmer months we trade the car for our bikes!

Happy Earth Day!

Awww, thank you girls SO much for the shout out about us! We posted a how-to for making an Earth friendly dog toy today on our blog. Sadie...you need one of them! And our tip for Earth Day is to visit your local Farmers Market and buy locally grown foods.

Happy Earth day. I think recycling is so important for Earth Day. Buying locally grown foods is also a super idea.
Have a great day.

These are all excellent ways to celebrate Earth Day! I want to eat locally grown foods, but my human refuses to let me go outside to catch birds and lizards.

We're conserving energy by napping, does that count?

Happy Earth Day!

The little chickadees finally have babies in the birdhouse by our front door. I had thought they would never lay eggs there because of the neighbors cats and I so happy to hear those little chirps:)

I got teased at the vet's the other for having gone green - I had grass stains on my feet. Probably not what you meant, though..

I like to eat green things does that count.
Then I poop and it goes in the garden to grow more green things.

Those are excellent tips on being green. We recycle effurything and burn our important paperwork. Mom also recycles old clothes and uses them as rags and even makes us toys from time to time. The is OUR home and WE are ALL responsible for its upkeep! Thanks for being a helping part of the team!

Koko and Yum Yum chase each other around the house, so that counts as exercise. They eat any and all food within the vicinity, so nothing goes to waste. We recycle and my wife takes the bus to work (she likes to walk). We also use re-usable grocery bags (we got them free from Jiffy Pop).

We love all your favorite Earth things! Our mom recycles all our food cans...we try to help her by licking the insides clean!

Happy Earth Day to you all!

You are furry good green furbabies!

Tip: Put a dish pan in one side of your sink. When you wash our hands, veggies, fruits, etc you catch the water. Add your non-meat scraps and take it out to your compost pile and pour.

LOL, when our tomato and brocolli plants went by I put them in the compost, as well as the cut off tops of onions. Now we have all 3 growing in the compost!!!

Happy Earth Day! We love your post - it is great! We don't have any really good tips other than recycle and turn off lights you aren't using, simple stuff like that.

MJ helps us mow the grass; kinda like what Angel does!

We recycle too! And use our own grocery totes at the store to carry home our kitty food. Thanks for such a great Earth day post! Love Moon

I compost also. It's great for the garden and my son likes to look at all the bugs in the compost pile, so it's educational too! :)

I just have to add, the word verification I got this time is "fart lyph". That strikes me funny!
