My Name is Angel, I'm a Treataholic

Some of you noticed yesterday that I had something on my mind as I was sitting on the nightstand. Lately, it's always on my mind - TREATS! And my stash is in the nightstand!
I just can't seem to get enough treats. I try all the tricks I know to get Mommy to give me more like bringing her my mouse cause she thinks I'm so smart and cute when I do. And then the second she moves, I always run to the nightstand, look sweet and innocent and wait for my Kitty Krack.

Since you're here Mommy, maybe I could have some treats?
Trouble is, Mommy doesn't think I should eat as many treats. Unbelievable huh? She is also trying to make me eat healthy all natural treats which I will if I absolutely have to. But usually I just hold out until I get the good stuff or I try to open the drawer myself - even if it's the middle of the night.
I may have a slight addiction but I'm not ready for rehab just yet no matter what Mommy says. Now if only I had thumbs, I would be pulling these bags out right now.
If you have suggestions for "healthier" treats (is that an oxymoron?), you can let us know and maybe I'll try some.

Hope you have a treat filled day!
Angel

We are SO with you Angel! If we could eat nothing BUT treats, we would. But Momma limits us too. I think it's a conspiracy. . . .

Angel, I used to be hooked on the Temptations, too. Now we eat healthy freeze-dried treats like chicken liver and duck hearts. They are delicious!

That's quite the stash of treats there Angel!

Sometimes I give Banjo freeze dried treats that you can buy at any pet food store. There's Ocean Tuna, Chicken, Liver and Beef. He likes them just as well as all those fancy treats with the pretty colors and shapes. And they are good for his weight management!

But either way, you are a pretty kitty, but it's good to keep healthy too!

Have a great day!

I agree the freeze dried treats may be the best. Just don't over do anything and I don't see a problem.
As long as Angel and Isabella like them of course.

Woooos! I see no problem here, I think woo need to visit so woo can show me how to break into the treat drawer, once I get to the bags, I can shred them open easily... Mom makes a lot of my treats and puts them in the ice box so I can't get to them If woo want she can send woo a recipe fur tuna treats that woo back, it makes the house smell lovely although fur some reason Mom opens all of the windows and puts on a fan to get the delicious odor out!

Marlene at Lucky Dog Treat Co on etsy made some yummy catnip treats for Sherpa in her home. She sells them too. And dog treats that Sadie might like.

We are treat addicts too Angel. Those treats are so yummy. We should probably get the healthy treats too. Let us know if you find some that are really good. Good job in getting that drawer open Angel. Have a great day.

The fact that there are cat treats in the night stand and not bags of chocolate makes me think your house might be a bit off. Unless, of course, there are bags of chocolate in the other night stand:)

Isn't odd but no matter what I buy, my kitties don't seem to care for treats at all...hmmm

I'm exactly like you, Angel! Too bad our moms are so silly! Treats all the time would be the best!

Hey Angel, what a funny coincidence, since my post today is about the new treats my human brought home! They are freeze-dried duck hearts and they are VERY yummy!

We are all treat-aholics too, Angel. Well, Phantom is pretty picky about which ones, but TD and Ciara will eat just about anything. Too bad all our treats are in the cabinet all the way up on the tippytop shelf:(

Duke wants you to know that this is not a problem that only cats have, he is also a treat aholic. He gets quite demanding too when he starts to go through withdrawals.

Ahh, such a very common problem, it is at epidemic proportions. But you are extra-clever to be able to open the drawer yourself.

This sounds mean, but maybe mom SHOULD switch to less tasty treats. I can send you a bag of Greenies treats that I don;t like............

Koko and Yum Yum are treat-a-holics too. They usually get a special treat when Koko gets his insulin shot. This happens at the same time, twice a day. If we are late, we will here about it, loudly, until they get what they want.

Angel, we have the treat pantry. That's also where our foods are kept. I'll sit and stare at the pantry until mom finally gives in and gets me some!!

We don't have any ideas about "healthy" treats, but something you could try is a treat ball. You can get them at the petstore. You put dry food or treats in them and then you have to bat it around in order to get the treats out. Makes you work a little for your treats...plus it takes you longer to eat them. Ernie loves the treat ball...me, not so much. I'd rather stare at the treat pantry.

Mmmm..... treats! I love them, too! My favorite are the Sensitive Tummy ones because they're the biggest ones we have. Hee hee hee!

PS: Sorry we're so behind in reading! It's been crazy here!!!

My Mommy keeps my treats on the nightstand too! In a special bag. Probably cause I only get to have them as a bedtime snack. Speaking of - I heard the bag rustling - gotta go! Love, Moon

Stacy Hurt said...

Yes; it's an oxymoron. Don't let anyone tell you differently. They are called TREATS for reason... We love them & we come running when that woman goes near the bag! She loves that our tails are straight up & Miss Jack even turns around in circles 3 times! Makes me dizzy watchin her.

Treats for ALL GOOD KITTIES
*cos there aren't any 'bad' kitties!*

even word verif agrees with 'yesse'

Yum yummy treats! I probably shouldn't have seen this post, coz now I really, really want a treat instead of the cooked chicken!! (that's the only 'healthy treat' I ever get anyway)

Franklin is a treat-a-holic too, but we have NO suggestions. We only get treats once a day (right after Franklin takes his pill), and mom only gives us a few each. Also, she often gives us the Temptations hairball treats although she is not sure how much they work.

P.S. Our cousins sent the Party Mix to us for Xmas and we really like it!

We must be one of the few cat families that aren't wild about treats...but we do love our t/d dental diet, which mewmie keeps in a cookie jar in the kitchen and we ask for it each morning! Science Diet Oral Care is the same as the prescription diet, so try it and see. It's high in fat so it's tasty and it really does help clean their teeth!
