Tortie Tuesday!

It's Tortie Tuesday! Today I am going to demonstrate the proper technique for sunning your belly. Once you find a sufficient amount of sunbeam, lay flat on your back so the sun hits your entire belly.
A more advanced move is to stretch your head back so you can get sun on your neck too. This takes practice but it's worth it!
I hope you have sunbeams today so you can warm your belly too!

Isabella, that's exactly what I do on a sunny day! Except I sort of lay there spread-eagled, ya know what I mean?

Aren't you jealous that cats don't need sunscreen?!

Isabella you are darling, I love your sunning technique! Arwen says that it is also a great way to get belly rubs if you like them (she certainly does!!).

Meg :)

Isabella, you look beautiful today! Tasha has started doing the same thing when there is sun - it's adorable!

P.S. Tasha did the "I'm a little teapot" pose yesterday for the first time - we think she reads your blog when we're not looking!

My cats always enjoy the pools of sunshine. Even when the temperatures are in the 90's like today, there will be at least one cat sleeping in a spot of sunlight.

Isabella says in yoga instructor voice *

"and once you achieve the opposite of 'down dog' pose, lengthen your neck and prepare to breathe deeply-- that's it, taking a deep breath in flattens the torso and allows Ra to have maximum surface coverage--"

now to sleep, perchance to dream?

Isabella, that looks SO comfy! It's 100 degrees here, but I'm going to find a sunbeam and curl up in it!

So that's what our cats are thinking when they lie in the sun on the steps. All this time, I thought it was to trip us!

I have never laid flat on my back like that. What if someone tried to touch my belly? No thanks.

It does look good to lie in the sun like that though. Maybe I'll have to think about it.

Oh Bella, you are just the utmost! It is so adorable that you have your eyes open. Are you certain that Mommy got your best side? Silly questions, all of your sides are the bets.
