Tortie Tuesday

It may be Tortie Tuesday but our thoughts and purrayers are with those affected by the devastating tornadoes in Moore, OK and surrounding areas.

We also send purrayers and strength to the first responders and those helping in the rescue effort.  Mother Nature may have shown her ugly side but there are many showing much caring and compassion and we are grateful for them.

If you are aware of any organizations helping people and/or animals in OK, please let us know in the comments for those who wish to send donations.

Stay safe and hug those you love this Tortie Tuesday,
Isabella

Wordy Wednesday

Thanks to everybuddy for the purrs and crossed paws yesterday!  I really appreciate it and know it'll help me get through whatever it is I've got to get through in the next few days.  I'm going in at 6am this morning to get plenty of fluids in me before my 10am surgery today.  My kidney enzymes are elevated so the fluids will help me during surgery.  We don't know why my kidneys show problems but we're hoping it's only temporary and not something bad (which we don't even want to think about).  The main concern is the tumor near my tummy but Mommy says I'm going to be okay because there's no other option.  Anyway, it won't be long before I'm smiling on a stroll again like this...
Thanks again for all the concern!  I know I'll be okay and hopefully Mommy will be too.  She's having a very hard time with all this because she's such a worry wart.

Love,
Sadie

Update 12:30pm:  The vet just called and Sadie came through surgery just fine (Mommy releases her breath!) and she's already awake and walking around a little bit.  The tumor is NOT cancer, the spot on her neck that caused all this had turned into a hot spot, whatever the heck that is, from her scratching but it's all gone now and her teeth are sparkly white.  Her liver was not enlarged (a sign of Cushings disease) so that was good.  Still no clue why her kidney enzymes are high so we'll just have to monitor it and hope it was a fluke.  Thanks to everybuddy for the purrs and concern.  We KNOW that's why everything is okay!  Mommy's going to sleep now since she hasn't in two days and will stay up tonight with Sadie to make sure she's okay.  Sadie will be home in 4 hours.

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday and I'm imitating a purrito today..
I'm also asking for purrayers and crossed paws for my sisfur Sadie.  Mommy took her to the v-e-t yesterday for one thing, which the vet said was okay, but he found another thing which might not be okay.  She has a lipoma like a fatty tumor under her skin near her rib cage and tummy.  It used to move all around like it's supposed to but now it's firm and can't be felt all around so if her blood work comes back okay today, she has to have surgery tomorrow to make sure it's not something bad.  We're very worried about her because she's a senior girl so please send positive thoughts.  We appreciate it!

Enjoy your Tortie Tuesday,
Isabella

Update on Sadie:  She won't be having surgery tomorrow because the results showed something wrong with her kidneys.  Sadie isn't showing any signs of being sick so we're hoping it's an infection and can be cleared up soon because if it's kidney failure, well, we can't handle that right now.  Keep those purrs coming!

Update #2:  Sadie is scheduled again for surgery tomorrow morning at 10am.  The vet didn't find indication of infection so we don't know why her kidney enzymes are elevated but the tumor is so "worrysome" that he wants to take it out as soon as possible.  Another sleepless night for Mommy!

Purrs For My Sisfur...

Hey Hop-a-long Sadie, you doin' okay down there? My sisfur Sadie hurt her paw and she won't tell us what she did. I have an idea it happened when she jumped off the bed after trying to eat MY treats on the nightstand. Anyway, she is limping really bad and won't put her weight on her left foot so she had to go to the v-e-t. That means she has that icky v-e-t smell.
I love you and all Sadie but you stink!
The v-e-t checked her from her foot to her shoulder but didn't find anything that would be causing her to limp. Sadie has to take meds that must be made with gold since they are so expensive and if she doesn't get better she has to go back for x-rays. We're purraying that she gets better soon so she can go on her Sadieday strolls.

Can you cross your paws and send purrs her way too please? Thank you!

Hope you have a nice Purrsday!
Angel
