Tortie Tuesday. Finally.

It's Tortie Tuesday and I'm way late in posting but thankfully I'm here now. This morning started out with Mommy getting the glass out from under the guest room bathroom sink to fill up our water fountain. When there was water dripping from the bottom of the glass she looked a little closer and we had a mini flood happening in the cabinet!
She called Daddy who told her to turn off the water but 1) she couldn't climb in far because of all the water, 2) the flashlight was dead, 3) she couldn't get the little knobs to turn and 4) she bonked her head and was not happy so he came home from work and turned it off. The leak didn't stop because the water was coming from another spot back here near the left knobby thing...
So, a stranger dude came and replaced the valve because Daddy had to go back to work. The stranger dude told Mommy it was a very good thing she had to fill our fountain today before any damage was done. This bathroom is on the 2nd floor and it's basically only used for our water so who knows how long it has been going on or how long it could've gone on. Anyway, it's airing out now and I'm keeping an eye on it to make sure there's no more leak...
So, catching water leaks while filling up our fountain is reason #3,652,956 for having a cat. Just sayin.

Anything exciting happening in your neck of the woods?

Hope you have a dry Tortie Tuesday!

Oh What a Weekend!

We just had a weekend like no other! It started off pretty normal with a bath in a sunpuddle...
But it quickly changed when we sold earrings from our BeadedTail shop to an incredibly talented author - Jacquelyn Mitchard! We were so shocked and excited that it took Mommy over an hour to find the words (and nerve) to email her our thank you! We asked if it was okay to tell our friends and fans about her purchase and she was very gracious in letting us do so. She also said she was going to wear our earrings in the photo for her next book cover due out in 2017! How's that for exciting?

What makes this sale extra special is that we have been severely lacking in making beady goodies for our shop. We'd simply lost the spark. We used to help Mommy bead because it was her escape from a stressful job situation. Now she loves her new job and is so happy that she hasn't needed that escape. This particular sale has reminded us of the joy we get out of making jewelry and having others appreciate our work too! Plus, the reason we make jewelry is to contribute to animal charities and that is still important to us. So, what does all this mean? It means we spent yesterday afternoon making beady goodies!
Yes I am snoopervising with the eyes in the back of my head...
And Isabella is multi-tasking by inspecting while watching Birdie TV...
This package* reignited the spark that we so desperately needed!
Sometimes we need reminders of what brings us joy. We're grateful and excited beyond words for this sale for many reasons! Most importantly, we're glad the spark is back even if it means less nap time between taxes and beady goodies! It's worth it!

Have you been putting off doing something that brings you joy?

We hope you have a glorious day!
Angel

*We wrap every package and include a handwritten note for every sale because each of our customers are special to us whether they are famous or not!

Birthday Excitement

Mommy says thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday!  She had what started out to be a very quiet day but I thought her birthday should be exciting so I tried to find something to take it up a notch...
And find it I did!  There's no photos of this but right after that picture was taken I found a wasp on THIS side of the screen!  Talk about excitement!  I batted it down and it got on the wall which is when Mommy saw what it was and totally FREAKED out!  She grabbed me from behind which freaked me out so I sorta kicked her a little before she made me get away from the wasp. Then she ran to the kitchen to get something to deaded the wasp all the while yelling at me to stay away which again freaked me out.  Can you tell?
My idea to add excitement didn't quite go as planned although I did make a lovely design on Mommy's arm...
She took the photo with her left hand and she's right handed so it's much prettier than it shows and it bled a lot!  She wasn't even mad at me either!  Anyway, she had first grabbed a bag from the bead box to kill the wasp before realizing how thin the plastic was but she did leave some bloods on it...
She called Daddy at work and he came home to cover my designs bandage her up.  I may have added the wrong kind of excitement but I did make her birthday memorable!  In case you were wondering what Isabella was doing while all this was going on...
Nothing gets her too excited although she did pick up her head for 4.3 seconds when her Daddy came home!

Hope you find some (safe) excitement in your neck of the woods!
