Weekend Wrap Up in a Quilt

Our weekend was hot, hot, hot! How hot? Enough to make me melt...
To escape the heat our Mommy and Daddy went up into the Cascade Mountains...
They went up there because they thought the coast would be busy with all the peeps escaping to the 60 degree temps. What they didn't know was that it was the annual Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show - the World's LARGEST outdoor quilt show! That meant 10,000 people, their cars, lots of tour buses and our mommy and daddy descended on the town of Sisters, OR to look at 1,300 quilts hung up throughout the town...
They didn't see all the quilts but they looked at quite a few such as this dogs with glasses one...
This one of Portland...
And Oregon...
Mommy got a giggle out of this guy's sign. It says 'Quilt widowers - Husband sitting services'...
MOL! Daddy didn't see the humor in it. He can be a fuddy duddy. Anyway, she has a few more pics of animal quilts but since this post is full already, we'll save them for later. We hear they pet a cat too but there's no evidence of that. They just can't help themselves sometimes. *sigh*

Did your weekend have any surprises?

Hope you enjoy your day!
Angel

Well so much for a quiet escape. I would have really liked looking at all those quilts though. I'm in awe of the talent of some quilters. I like that one with the dogs, very cute

That quilt show would have been fantastic! I can't quilt or sew for beans, but I like looking at them, they're art.

As for that man's sign...OMC, it's priceless, I love it! :-)

You were still together and that's the most important part.

Angel looks comfy even though it's hot. I'm sure the air conditioner was keeping her quite comfortable.

I linked this post to Awww Mondays.

Have a fabulous day. Scritches to the girls and a hug to you and J. ♥♥♥

I would have liked to see the Portland quilt up close. Looks like it has paper-pieced flowers?? I like quilt shows to appreciate what people can do. It inspires me.

Those were beautiful quilts. I am supremely not talented in such things but I love the workmanship of others.

It is one of our mom's dreams to go to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show!!! She'd go bonkers there. We love that dog quilt -- and the "Husband Sitting Services" made us laugh!!!
We got some rain - that was a big deal here!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Mom says that it sounds like serendipity to her that your peeps ended up at the quilt show, as that would be her idea of heaven. The dog quilt is adorable, and she can't wait to see more. You do look melted, Angel. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

Those quilts are just amazing. Our Mom would love to take a quilting class and some day maybe make even a small one. Angel, you look so cute in your bed.

Those quilts are beautiful...and creative. Though considering it's 90 degrees here, looking at them makes us hot. :)
