Tortie Tuesday

Although all kitties are works of art, last Tuesday our mommy went to the Portland Art Museum to see an art piece of kitties. It's Carl Kahler's painting called "My Wife's Lovers."  Mommy heard about this painting last fall so when she found out it was going to be on exhibit in Portland she had to go see it! Her friend took this picture of Mommy as she was taking pictures of the painting...
Here's one of those pictures...
It's a huge (6 x 8.5 feet) painting with 42 kitties and of course she picked one out that she thought looked like Angel. Can you tell which one it is?
There was only one Tortie...
Notice the Tortie doesn't look at the camera? Well, I'm taking a cue from that today...
I'm not being uncooperative. I'm being artistic!

We're not sure where the painting will be on display once it leaves Portland this Sunday. If it's in your area at any time, we highly recommend you go see it!

Have you heard of this painting before? Do you know of any other famous works of kitty art?

Enjoy your Tortie Tuesday!
Isabella

I've never heard of this painting but it's very nice. The artist is not only very talented but he must have a sense of humor also choosing the title for the painting.

That is a gorgeous painting!! Be careful!! Usually they prohibit photos of paintings being taken....if there was no sign saying that, then you are ok! catchatwithcarenandcody

Oh, WOW! I have not heard of this painting, but I like it. I will watch for it to come to Chicago.

I don't know about much cat art, but there was an Edward Gorey exhibit at the art museum where my daughter worked. He loved kitties and had a ton of them. He had some good cat art too.
