This has been quite a week and I'm glad it's over! Well, at least I think I'm glad it's over. We got a delivery yesterday...
I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like whatever it is! Mommy keeps saying I'd better because it cost so much. She was warned it'd be expensive but had NO idea just how expensive! The AeroKat was $54 and the inhaler thingy that goes with it cost $194 from the pharmacy!
WHAT? You spent how much of our treat money on HER!
Mommy asked Daddy if I was worth it - dumb question huh? They both know I am! The real question is if I'm going to allow it anywhere near my Tortie face...
Hope you have a better Friday than it appears I will!
Isabella
PeeS: Mommy here, we were shocked at the price but there's 120 dosages and she's to get one a day so it's 4 months worth or $1.60 a dose. It is a lot of money but if it helps, it'll be worth it to get her off the pred to avoid future health issues which could include diabetes. At least that's what I told myself when the pharmacy told us the cost!

That is certainly one very expensive inhaler! Main thing is that it does the job and helps Isabella breathe easier. All paws crossed!!!
My human had sticker shock too when she found out how much the inhaler with the drugs cost! She was not convinced that Sparkle's problem was asthma so she never did fill the prescription. I think she threw out the plastic thing after Sparkle died - she purged the house of all meds and med-type stuff. She didn't want to look at them anymore. Of course now she could use the Pepcid for Binga!
That is certainly one very expensive inhaler!
But hey maybe you can use it as a toy too :)
XOXO
Holy cr*p! And that's in the US -- pet meds (everything) is pricier here in Canada. Good luck! Take it slow, stock up on lots of treats. Not sure if you watched that video, but I found it encourage, if one is able to persevere.
Purrs from Nicki and Derry!
Holy smokes, that is expensive. It doesn't sound so bad when you break it down into daily dose cost but still. Hope Isabella is cooperative when it comes to using it
Wow! I know the one I had to purchase for myself was very expensive...even with insurance...I had no idea that the ones for our furry family members were that expensive! I do hope that Isabella is feeling better. Prednisone makes me feel all weird...I wonder if it has the same effect on cats / dogs??
holy moly! but Isabella is looking pretty happy in her AeroKat ... let's hope it relaxes her enough to get the inhaler to work!!
You're worth every penny Bella :) I know we'd do the same for Harley.
And look...it comes with a comfy bed too!
Oh No Isabella. Is that like a nebulizer. We have one of those. I can give you a hint on how to do it to Isabella. Our Splitter had to have that. We put Splitter in her carrier and then sprayed her so she couldn't run away. She didn't mind at all. And do it in a small room, I will be interested if this helps since our Little Bit has some allergies. Good luck Isabella.
When you work out by dose it doesn't sound so bad - gonna try the burrito wrap technique first? It's my go to for Frankie but BB sits still for everything. Good Luck!
You are worth every penny, Isabella. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise!
The costs sound familiar with all that Mom spends on Phantom. But we all do what we need to for our beloved furries. Hope you have succes with the new treatment.
Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightnong
I just hope this works. Our Little Bit takes allergy shots every month. It's way expensive too. They are worth it though and we don't get the cost a thought one. They are our babies.
Make sure you link up to Feline Friday. I can't link you with Steve's linky system.
Have a purrfect day you too. My very best to your wonderful parents. ♥♥♥
Well, actually...my husband's inhalers ... yes he uses two different types... are pretty expensive too... one is $104... and, he claims there are not as many doses as the label says there are.... damn meds anyway.... but, our husbands and our furry guys are worth it....
hope she's up and purrfectly fine soon!
You are wise to do whatever is necessary for her now rather than wait. Will be anxious to hear how it works. Does she have Asthma?
OKay girlie - now it's up to you: inhalers are no big deal, got it? You'll let them give you your treatments without a fuss, right?
But you are soooo worth it!
Noodle and crew
At that price, we hope you use the inhaler, Isabella.
Isabella, we sure hope it does the trick for you. Mommy has to pill The Baby every day, and even though she fights every. single. time. Mommy is pretty sure Bibs knows it keeps her well...although an inhaler is a whole new kettle of fish! Maybe something enticing on the rim for the first few times to help get over the fear?
One of Brian's sisters uses an inhaler, perhaps his Dad would have some good advice.
Oh we hope this is going to help her out!
Though I am still on hiatus for my blog, we are back to commenting a bit. Have missed being able to!
I pray it helps.
Oh My Goodness! But really, you're TOTALLY worth it. And we're crossing paws that it helps!
For the cost, we really do hope it helps Isabella, but we know you will do whatever it takes to keep her healthy just as we all would. Hope Isabella doesn't fight you when you try to use it. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Oh my that is expensive but I'm sure that kitty is worth it.
