Tortie Tuesday on Tax Day!

Yay it's Tortie Tuesday and it's also Tax Day! We had to help Mommy work an extra day this year since yesterday was the Emancipation holiday in Washington, DC so the whole country got an extra day to invest in their IRAs and to file their taxes today...
But now it's time to get back to normal around here. One of the things Mommy doesn't like about tax season is that so many things get put on hold because she's working so much. My wise Tortie advice is that life is too short to be put on hold! I even convinced Mommy that it's okay to take a cake decorating class she's always wanted to and she listened! Here's her first cake that she made last Thursday:
She said it was more stressful than a 6 hour tax return but she did have fun. We love the buttercream frosting and can't wait for the next 8 weeks of cakes!
Huh, what's that Mommy? Why are the next cakes going to Daddy's work? Can we at least have some frosting?

Anyway, today's lesson is: Life is too short, enjoy the frosting!
If there's something you've always wanted to do - do it!

Hope you have a very Happy Tortie Tuesday!
Isabella

The cake looks really pretty! Your mom did a good job on it. Glad she is doing something fun. I'd sure rather decorate cakes than spend 1 hour on taxes!

If that was your mom's first cake I think I want her to come work with me in the bakery. I need a little boost in sales and I think that would sell big time :)

My mom is a natural artist and always decorated beautiful cakes. I was fortunate enough to get a little of her in my genes. I just love decorating cakes and also took a class a few years ago. It's so much fun! Your cake turned out spectacular. I bet it tasted just as good!

WOW! Mommy is very talented, and lucky Daddy, getting all those cakes to take to work! I wonder why Mommy doesn't want them sitting around her kitchen? Good for Mommy for taking that cake decorating class, I can't wait to see more of her creations!

The cake looks great!!! And yay for your last full time day!! You showcased a sign last friday finds that was a cat that had written on it "life is short, play with me!" on it. I keep thinking about it, and it's a great reminder for me to stop what I"m doing and play with my furbabbies when they come to me!
