Disaster Adverted...

We had some excitement around here last night and today I will describe what I saw from this window. Okay, let me set the stage. Daddy let Sadie out back to use her litteryard...can you see where I'm going with this? Yep, Daddy forgot to shut the gate to the backyard after he was out there yesterday afternoon. He went to see what was taking Sadie so long and then I see him walking out in the driveway looking all around...
Mommy then flew out the front door because she realized what happened. Daddy went clear down to the end of our cul-de-sac and saw Sadie going along her and Mommy's regular stroll route. She was at the next block but came back when Daddy called her and as soon as she got into our cul-de-sac she came running into Mommy's open arms. Once they got inside Mommy gave Sadie treats and Daddy got in big trouble...
Let's just say I don't think Daddy will ever leave the gate open again!

It was all very scary and Mommy was shaking for a long time after Sadie was safe inside but we're so glad she didn't get far and that she came back when called. To avoid scaring your beans, make sure all doors are closed so indoor kitties can't get out and make sure all gates are closed so woofies can't get out!

Hope you have a safe and uneventful Monday!
Angel

That must have been REALLY scary! My human and her boyfriend would freak out just like that if any of us got away from the house without them knowing right away. In fact, they are kind of paranoid about it... but I don't think I can blame them.

That's really scary.. would Sadie know the way back if she strolled out? Daddy should not get any treats and should get an earful but don't be too hard on him. People sometimes make mistakes!

Piper went out for a stroll one day.. and almost got kidnapped. Someone already put him in his car... and his daddy was running after the car. Good thing the car got stopped at the guard house. *phew*

Very scary and we are glad Sadie is safe.

That IS scary!! Bad Daddy, bad. But we're glad Sadie is OK. She was probably a little confused going on her strolling route without her Mommy. Is your Daddy grounded? That's what always happens to us.

Daddy really goofed but fortunately no harm done. Glad Sadie stayed safe and came back home without any trouble! She is a smart doggie.

Oh dear, that is very skerry! It is funny that Sadie decided to take herself on a walk. Sadie was a Good Girl to come back when called!

I am so glad Sadie was still close by enough to be seen and come when she was called. I am not much of a woofie-cat, but Sadie is one of my special friends, and I would NOT want her to get lost or hurt.

Oh, I am very familiar with the "Daddy got into trouble...." scenario round here. We think it is special property of the male of the species, to leave doors and gates and all sorts open, or to not be watching the kitty properly on the deck.

We're so glad Sadie is all right. Good on her for coming right back! We hope your mom is all right too - make sure to give her lots of attention today.

P.S. We are not sure if you're allowed to say anything nice to your dad right now, but when you can, please tell him congratulations about the Chiefs.

Well thank you for the news report Angel. I am glad all turned out well. I wouldn't want to be in Daddys shoes right now.Claudia has gotten out by herself a couple of times. Luckily she also comes back when gets called and she knows she will get a nice treat.

Oh wow that is very scarry! We are so glad that Sadie was found quickly - that is our mom's big fear - that we will get out. Being indoor only cats it would be extra hard for us not knowing the area. Stories like this make her even more determined to keep us in!

Very scary. That is one of the reasons we almost always walk the same route, so hopefully if we got out, that is where we would go. Mom always worries that a worker will forget to close the gate so she almost always remembers to check it. So glad Sadie is safe.

That's a very good reminder, Angel! We bet your daddy felt really bad about doing that...humans forget stuff sometimes...and we just hafta keep reminding them. We're glad everything turned out okay for Sadie!

That is a very scary thing to have happen. I remember helping my friend track her dog down when it escaped the backyard. It was a tense few hours.
I'm glad that Sadie didn't go too far and that you were able to get her back quickly.

Me and Mommy are VERY happy that your Sadie was found and that she came when called. What a good good girl. My mom is scared to death that I get out and makes workers in the house think she's tiresome cause she's always saying.."don't let the cat out"!!!

Angel, you look like you might be learning some new vocabulary in your second picture.

Wowser, we sure are glad you found Sadie before she got too far. We are also thrilled that she came when called. I bet Mommie hugged her a lot when she found her. Poor Daddy. Hope he is forgiven soon.
Have a good rest of the week.

Angel, I am so happy to hear your fur Sister came when called! It is so important to listen to your Mom and Dad...My Mama taught me not to go out of the yard (not even after a cat)...and when she says STOP I know I have to sit right down....Your Mama taught Sadie right, to come when she calls her. Sadie is very smart, your Daddy, not so much! Love and woofs, Sisseelou

I don't think Daddy will be doing that again!!

Very scary, glad it came out ok. We had a similar incident here a couple weeks ago. I went shopping and didn't shut the back door tight enough. Duke pushed it open and his dad didn't know where he was and was looking all over for him. Luckily Duke hadn't gotten far and he met a nice lady in the church parking lot across the street who kept him company until his dad went and got him
