This and That

It was a whirlwind weekend around here but progress was made on Christmas preparations. Packages were mailed today, our cards should arrive today so we can mail them tomorrow and only one more beady goody needs to be made for a gift. We bought our packages for Daddy already but Mommy needs to get him something. We're pretty sure it won't be a reindeer truck with a dog...
All this present stuff reminded us of a story about gifts Daddy bought in Disneyland for his minions employees. He got small packages of Mickey shortbread cookies and he had all 10 of them plus a bigger package for our Grandpa from Kansas in his carry on to avoid them being broken in the luggage. Anyway, his bag was picked to be searched by the Orange County airport TSA because they could not figure out what they were seeing on their x-ray thingy. While they were swiping the cookies and testing them for explosives, Daddy was telling the guy they were for his employees and that he'd get in trouble if he didn't bring them anything. The TSA guy kinda broke a smile but stayed tough during all the testing. Who knew Mickey cookies could look dangerous...
Anyway, we're glad this weekend is over because we were pretty stressed about it...
Now we can relax and enjoy the rest of the holidays before you know what starts again in January.

How was your weekend?

Hope your week is off to a great start!

OMC, I can't believe that TSA tested the Mickey cookies! MOL! One of these days, they will probably test ME!

I have to agree! It is kind of amazing that they tested Mickey's cookies...and perhaps they will start testing animals...YIKES! I am so far behind on getting Christmas things done...I will not catch up. It's just not possible! Can you tell I am a bit stressed out? Glad you are plugging right along!

I'm glad I never have the need to fly anywhere with all the cookie testing they do. So your daddy's minions got cookies and I hope he told them what he had to go through to bring them home to them...lol

after all that testing was anything left? Who wants a box of opened cookies? Y'all don't look that stressed but I bet the humans are running on fumes.

They didn't confiscate the cookies for a taste test? :-)

Tell your humans to take deep breaths and just go with the flow. The world won't end if everything isn't done to perfection. Maybe they need more naps, or catnip, to help them through the holidays. LOL.

All the best, merry Christmas!

Love the truck and the dog. Too cute.

Held up at the airport because of cookies. Too funny.

Aww, the girls are so cute. I linked this post to Awww Mondays as always.

We had a quiet weekend here. All our Christmas work is all done, and I'm glad you got a lot done this weekend.

Yes, I know that happens in January.

Have a fabulous day. Big hug to you and J and tons of scritches to the girls. ♥♥♥

I'm guessing the bulk quantity of cookies is what make them suspect. Next time, I would just volunteer to eat the evidence.

Busy weekend! But...I think we are ready for Christmas. Hooray!

Ok, since my ALL TIME FAVORITE cookies are shortbread (and ANY buttery cookie) I think the TSA agent really wanted those cookies for himself! They ARE awfully cute and I bet they taste delicious! I finally mailed our my Secret Paws Saturday (but they said it wouldn't leave til today, paws crossed it gets to where it is going by Christmas) and I wrote out a bunch of cards and my husband mailed them this morning. Now I am out of stamps and have to try and get more cards (boxed cards are awfully hard to find anymore!) and hope that they get to THEIR destination by New Years!! lol catchatwithcarenandcody

What a cute puppy!

I've gotten selected for extra screening of "suspicious" items more times than I can count. I'm convinced I fit some sort of profile for people to select to prove they're "not profiling!"

Oh yeah...those cookies really look dangerous. ;) You're lucky the TSA guys didn't want to taste-test them.

TSA targeting cookies! Oh Lord! Hard to get to where you need to go anymore. Last time we traveled, I kept my Thyroid pills in the RX bottle in my luggage and they tore it apart. When we got to our destination there were pills everywhere but in the bottle! I am very offended by their tactics. I Like traveling by car but with Colorado license plates we would get stopped out of state because of the marijuana laws. UGH! Now its illegal for them to hassle you about it. Goodness, life is complicated anymore! I think cats and dogs have the good life. Merry CHRISTmas to you and have a beautiful week. Glad you are home safely. HUGS

That reindeer truck is too funny :) Oh, I can understand Daddy's frustration. Those security people are being ridiculous! Lucky employees for getting those cookies :)

Oh look, it is a Rudolph car. We want one like that.Too funny about the cookies not going through security. They are kind of dangerous to the waistline. Have a super day.
