It's the last day of July (how'd that happen so fast?) and we're participating in this month's BBArtisans team challenge in the nick of time! The challenge, from Linda at Pruitt Supply, is to create something with a vacation theme or write about a favorite vacation. Well, we don't go on vacations but I can create something to help Mommy remember one of her favorite vacations so that's what I did!
Last summer Mommy and Daddy went on a 10 day Alaskan cruise/tour which is something Mommy never thought she'd do since she gets motion sickness very easily. Anyway, thanks to meclizine, she was able to go and it ended up being one of the most memorable trips she and Daddy have ever been on with views and eagles everywhere...
One of the many things they did was pan for gold in Fairbanks and their huge gold find was put in a pendant. A really boring pendant. Ho hum...
So I had an idea to help her bling up her pendant so she'd actually wear it instead of keeping it in a drawer. I picked out a blue bead to symbolize the blue skies, ocean and glaciers they saw and it turned out like this...
It's certainly not boring anymore! Now she can wear it and remember the fun time they had on their cruise. I know, I'm so smart. What would she do without me?
Thanks for the challenge Linda! The pendant would still be in a drawer if it hadn't been for your challenge and my fabulous idea!
Do your beans have a favorite vacation?
Happy last day of July! Enjoy your weekend!

Angel, you are so smart and creative! You really made that pendant a stand out!
How beautiful and unique! The panning for gold must've been so much fun :)
The beans here don't like to travel - so no vacations. Good job on the jewelry design.
Oh I've had so many wonderful vacations. Hawaii, Mexico, that cruise to the Caribbean. So many wonderful memories.
I love the jewelry you made to remember your vacation. I'll bet it makes you smile every time you see it.
You're so cute I can hardly stand it Angel.
Have a purrfect day. My best to your wonderful mom. ♥♥♥
After seeing some of Mom Sharla's previous Alaska photos it is now one of the places our mom wants to go. That pendant is stunning. What a great idea and design, Angel. We know your mommy appreciates all your help! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Jake don't like to travel and he sure does not like it when we have to leave him at the vets
Love it what a great idea heheh
Have a pendanttastic weekend
You are an excellent designer- that is a very unique and special piece. I would love a cruise to Alaska, but I can barely survive without my kitties when I go away for one night.
This human doesn't do vacations either. Too many animals to leave. We remember that great cruise you took. It looked dreamy. Glad that pendant got all fixed up. Have a great week end.
my stars girl, how FABulous is the pendant !! you should open an Etsy shoppe ~~~ ♥♥♥ you did furtastic work on it, truly, and for your mom to be able to say that's gold from Fairbanks is awesome !! mews to Isabella, happy weekend ♥♥♥ hugs from dai$y =^..*=
Angel, you are a genius. That was a really great idea. Your mommy is so luck to have you around
Angel, you are so good at jewelry making! The blue bead makes it a perfect pendant and one that will always remind Mommy of a wonderful vacation :)
Angel, that was brilliant! That pendant is beautiful and we know your mom will wear it all the time now. You better get extra treats for all your work.
What a fun way to preserve your vacation memories!
You sure are smart and beautiful! What a wonderful way to remember a lovely vacation! Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey Gang
Us kitties are so good at accessorizing! 'Specially with furs...
Oh, that's so pretty! And what a great idea -- I'll bet your mom is really glad you came up with it!
Our parents' favorite vacation was when they lived in Belgium and went to France for a while. It was the Brittany region = not the place in France where the alligators dance. Just my opinion, but that would have been WAY better! I mean DANCING ALLIGATORS?!?! That would have been awesome.
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
What a cool challenge and a PURRfect stylin' solution!
That pendant is very lovely and I think that you may not have realized that you were also borrowing from the color of your eyes and your fur for that pendant, Angel. Mom thinks that she and Dad had their best two vacations in Alaska as well. One trip had an emphasis on Denali National Park, which was amazing, but they didn't get as far as Fairbanks. The next time they went, many years later, they flew into Juneau and went to a number of places on the coast, including Haines and Skagway. They have never gone on a cruise, and think an Alaskan Cruise would be by far the greatest.
Love what you did with the pendant! It's beautiful! I can see it on a beautiful long gold chain atop a cozy sweater this winter!
Beautiful addition! What a lovely memento!
What a cool pendant! I'd really like to visit Alaska some day, but I'm insisting on going in the middle of summer! I'm sure I'll be too cold even then, but it seems like such a great place.
